I love how much the story/tone really shifted in these episodes. Up to this point, Tanjiro's journey has carried this heavy loneliness. It has been one full of grief, loss, responsibility. It feels like he has been carrying this heavy weight of the world (and his sister) on his shoulders for so long. But now he finally isn't alone anymore!Zenitsu and Inosuke (aka pig face) are such an epic addition to Tanjiro's journey. Their personalities are absolutely dialed up to eleven and I love it so much. Zenitsu is pure insanity in human form. He swings so wildly from coward to love struck to this insane mysterious lightning form that is hiding underneath. And pig face... When the boar head finally came off I was actually stunned 🤣 The most feral character also happens to have the face of an absolute angel LOL I love him already.Between their intense energy, constant bickering, and surprising teamwork... this story became something so much more fun and sparked life into something that had such a dark beginning. I love watching Tanjiro quietly evolve along the way as well. I'm so happy that he has these two maniacs by his side to make the path feel a little less isolating. He still carries so much kindness and empathy into every fight, but now with the chaos gremlins by his side it also brings some laughter and unpredictability to the journey that I love! The spider demon is honestly my nightmare tho. I loathe creepy crawlies.. They're not a real family like they pretend to be. They're something forced. Hierarchy built on fear, control, punishment. The mother allowing her death to happen so she could finally rest in peace set the tone going forward. Everyone is trapped in roles they never chose. But who is the main leader of this 'family'? I'm really excited to see how Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke are going to survive what's next. We know for sure that one of the Twelve is nearby. This fight might be on a completely different level than anything we've seen so far & I'm very ready! See you all next week for more!Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/sPZhphbwq1QI watched this on Crunchyroll in original Japanese with subtitles

I WAS really excited to jump back into this spectacular world and continue our journey.... I say that I was excited because I usually tend to read your magnificent write ups both before and after watching the reaction....and on my pre-watch reading, my eyes quickly focused on the words "spider demon"........ Kali, I hate spiders. I mean I literally hate them, I loathe them, I detest them..... I'm ok with all creepy crawlies except spiders.. cockroaches, bugs, and anything else crawly I'm fine with...but spiders are a big no-no. I am such a huge Arachnophobe, big or small doesn't matter, I don't like real ones, pictures or even animated ones, basically even as a grown man, put one of the horrible eight legged monsters in front of me and I instantly am reduced into a little scaredy cat cry baby. If you ever watched Arachnophobia ( please please don't ), I'd be there for it but my eyes would be closed the entire time. So.... reading spider demon has left me less excited than usual, I'm still gonna watch it but my hand will be hovering near my eyes to cover them when necessary. Otherwise, I'm loving this journey and really, really enjoying this show. Hope you're still feeling much better and wishing you and your family the happiest of weekends and hope it's full of an abundance of everything that makes you smile.

The mountain arc is probably my 3rd favorite in the series so many incredible moments

I’d say my never giving up attitude was confirmed by Tanjiro. But I actually got it from what is one of favourite anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann!

wonder where inosukes crow is? secret main character murata san unlocked, we will follow his career with great interest. We see Inosukes enhanced sense at play, if we have hearing and smell already what is inosuke? you can do some catch up watching i wont mind. quick rule of thumb for pronouncing Japanese they really dont hit the u's like desu is really pronounced more like des and inosuke is more like inos ke. sometimes you can barely hear it if you really listen or if the person has a particular dialect or affectation. i know you said you are listening to the english dub as well, i think this anime in particular the japanese voice actors knock it out of the park, the english zenitsu and inosuke just dont bring it like the japanese actors do. inosukes laugh is just a shadow of its real self from the english va, and no one gets scared like hiro shimono, seriously that guy is irl zenitsu lots of funny youtube vids of him being terrified. they are all better, but i find i miss aspects of their characters in particular for the 2 boys in english, muzan too. i always think about it like american animation is generally going to have better voice actors than the dubs, like, do you think there was someone else who captured the energy of the genie in Alladin like robin williams? no it was likely just a bunch of people trying to do a robin williams impression in their language. people get all crazy about preferring the japanese voice acting for reactors, but there is legit a case for it being better. there are exceptions to this and it stops mattering as you descend the chain of anime quality. sometimes you just want to watch it. the anime berserk(orginal version) has a great english dub, by really talented actors, cowboy beebop has a good one. both things you should watch :) berserk is one of the best stories ever. if merphy napier, and books and tropes love it, surely kaliwali will love it, though they read it which is a bigger commit, worth. some of the best art you will ever see. but yea thats my philosophy on dubs and a mini berserk pitch.

Yay, I can now call him Inosuke. My fav character, with the best theme music.

hey spiders stay in the same spot and kill truly annoying flying bugs. at least i always know where my spiders are. why kill them?

Terry In the UK

Oh, I'd never kill one deliberately... for one thing, I'd be too scared to get close enough.., I just can't look at one.

Farbod

What's going on with Daredevil? Been so long...

kaliwali

Omg Terry honestly SAME 😹🔥 As soon as I saw the little spiders crawling over the rocks I had a baaaaad feeling about what was going to happen next in those woods lol. And sure enough.. A whole family of demon spiders 😅 I'm really nervous about how this is all gonna go. The creepy/crawly sounds give me the eebie jeebies LOL We'll make it through together!!

kaliwali

his theme music is so good! 🔥

kaliwali

I was super sick all last week so I wasn't able to sit and record anything :( But I recorded Daredevil Episodes 6 and 7 today so I'll be sharing them with you all tomorrow morning 🙂

Terry In the UK

We will make it through it together Kali....even if it's with our eyes and ears closed 😂

Squeesher

Yeah the main melody kicked in right when he launched off of Tanjiro (and earlier in the episode too, before the intro). Whenever you hear that melody, that's Inosuke's theme. It also played a small piece of it the first time we saw him in the Mansion. The music of the whole series is so fire

DorkRunner

Awww, it makes me a little sad to hear you don't like spiders, but I get it. Not many do.

DorkRunner

For Inosuke's "heightened sense," it's never stated as overtly as Tanjiro's and Zenitsu's, but I would say it's intuition/instinct, and yes I think it lines very much up with his "animalistic" boar-head theme because often animals can sense things that we can't like storms coming or (according to some people) even the character or malicious intent of a person. And he wasn't just trying to trigger Tanjiro for the sake of it haha. He wanted to fight him again, and because Tanjiro kept refusing he was specifically trying to get under Tanjiro's skin so that he would be willing to fight him again. Also, I suspect a lot of Inosuke's behavior is less meant to convey a lack of empathy and more meant to be seen through the lens that he has lived alone on a mountain his whole life, apart from any human society or company. That's why he struggled so much with the expressions and figures of speech the old woman said when they parted, and it's why he is confused with what we would call "empathetic" or pro-social behavior--it's literally all just completely foreign to him because he hasn't lived around humans. Up to now he's only really known survival and competition.

DorkRunner

Something you might notice if you watch enough anime is that often writers will tend to either immediately precede or immediately follow really emotional, heavy, and/or dark parts of the story with a lot of silliness. I can't always tell whether they do this to try to subvert expectations or simply to balance the emotional moments of the narrative, but I suspect it's both (moreso the latter).

M1 Maz

I'm really unexpectedly loving this trio's character dynamic! All their wild quirks balance each other out so well LOL And I really enjoyed the split this week of a few really silly episodes, and then some creepy darkness after. This series really brings it all. And I feel like no other show or movie gets me emotional with literally every 'bad guy's' death. Love that is all done

Sky Quest Music Official

Muzan is just Default Michael Jackson now for this series😂 I'm loving this show so far but bro... THE 0 TO 100 MOMENTS IN THIS SHOW. ESPECIALLY the first 2 episodes in this sequence I was constantly in a state of just "WHAT IN THE FIDDLERS F$%K IS HAPPENING HERE" I gotta give credit where credits due...the voice actors throats have GOT to be just annihilated by the end of the recording sessions with ungodly the amount of screaming and shouting they're doing at each other. BOTH BIRDS AND HUMANS TOO😂 Also, even with that very emotional ending to the Mother which really made me tear up...I am giving a major 🖕 to this spider demon sequence😂. Of all things they had to choose...why did they have to go the Harry Potter 2 route and choose spiders. I cannot wait until we're done with the spider portion because spiders are just a Whole Lotta NOPE 🤢🤢🤮🤮

Adar Malik

Now I really want you to watch the next 4 Episodes. Gonna be epic

Hoka

Hi Kali, Since nobody told you (or I didn't see a comment about it), be aware that openings/intros contain spoilers about the anime (Zenitsu's Thunder Breathing, Inosuke's character, etc...). Personally, I find it gives a more genuine reaction if people don't watch it until the last episode, so they don't get spoiled about things. But you do what you want. I will watch it anyway. Hope you and your little one feel better.

hinaru

Next week's video gonna be wild! Peak of season 1!

Andre Harry

A Kali Nezuko cosplay... I'm totally down for it lol. I didn't see it in my minds' eye until this video and now I can't unsee it.

kaliwali

Thank you! I've heard some mention this before so I guess I'm not really sure how to handle it since I enjoy watching the intro/outro 😅 But maybe for the next season I can stop watching them. I feel like it also messes with the people who use the sync along version too so that's why I haven't skipped intro's basically ever. But maybe I can find a way to work around that!

Hoka

You can always listen to it so the people watching along can sync up, or even leave it on screen so people can see it 🤔 I know you will figure it out. I'm loving the reactions anyway! 🤗

DorkRunner

I've commented this elsewhere, but I don't agree with people who say openings "spoil" their respective shows. Such a position is hyper-purist. Media cannot actually spoil itself; openings show the viewer what the animator/show director wants the viewer to see. Sometimes they contain symbolism, foreshadowing, or even simply "preview" elements. Claiming an intro "spoils" the show is like saying reading a book spoils the book because then you know what happens in it. Ok, that comparison might be a little exaggerated; it would be like saying that reading the back-of-book summary of a book spoils a book, or even like saying looking at the cover of a book spoils the book, because you might be seeing things that you "don't know about" until you read about them in the book. These aspects of media--summaries, covers, introductions, foreshadowing elements, etc.--are created with deliberation and intention, which means that they are a part of the intended viewing/reading experience. All that to say, I would not recommend skipping the intros, especially because you said yourself that you enjoy watching them. I do too, I believe they're very enjoyable parts of the show, and if you enjoy them then skipping them is simply robbing yourself of a part of the experience that you enjoy. The only thing that matters, as it relates to "spoilers," is whether *you* feel that watching them is "spoiling" the experience for you. If you don't, then skipping them is just denying yourself something that you enjoy and gaining no real benefit or value for doing so other than appeasing the people that make weird insistences (imo) that the openings are spoiling things. Just watch the show however you enjoy watching it; I'll continue to enjoy watching you enjoy it!

DorkRunner

Besides loving watching them because they look cool, I personally also love watching them specifically to see if there is anything that looks like foreshadowing or symbolism in them, and then to make predictions about what I think it might mean. If you want a greater appreciation of anime intros than you already have, a youtube channel called Mother's Basement does a TON of anime opening reviews and analysis. He does anime review/analysis content in general, but some of what he does is to specifically look at and break down intros and highlight what makes them good/bad/etc. He does one for Demon Slayer's opening too, titled "Demon Slayer's Elegant Storytelling - What's in an OP?" -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x2VaIf9KPw I tried to find one for Frieren's but, surprisingly, he didn't seem to do one. For obvious reasons I would recommend not watching a review analysis of an anime's intro until after the show has at least moved on from that particular intro, so to be safe you should probably wait to watch it (if you choose to) until wrapping up the season completely. A lot of cinematography goes into anime intros, so that's another reason why I think it would be a shame to skip them if you're enjoying them.

Hoka

I had to re-watch the openings to check, and they don’t really contain spoilers. Some scenes are pretty heavy foreshadowing imo, but they’re still okay to watch. Like you said, if people like watching them, they should just do whatever they want. Personally, I just listen to them and only watch the visuals during the last episode, but I don’t really mind if other people watch them.

Robert da Spruce

I noticed I have the Cruchyroll app on my TV, so I decided to sub to the site. Now I can watch this and Frieren along with you without have to resync things 😊 I really like the humor on these episodes. But I admit I have to be in the right mood, cuz the constant screaming can be a little much sometimes. Especially Zenitsu 😂 Inosuke was actually feral. Raised by boars. Which is why he’s the way he is. But he’s slowly starting to learn to relate to humans. Especially with Tanjiro’s kindness and praise. Although I don’t think he quite knows how to accept compliments at the moment Looking forward to some more episodes!
