This arc was a magical little detour! 🐲✨

I knew going in that this was a filler arc, so I wasn't expecting much more than a brief adventure before the crew finally reached the Grand Line. But instead I got completely swept up in it! There was something super warm and heartfelt about the entire journey from beginning to end. Even though this wasn't a part of the main plot, One Piece still found a way to hit me in my ALL of my feels.I love how much the Straw Hats just threw themselves into helping Apis & the dragon. How much it became their own fight, too! That's something I definitely love the most about this crew.Luffy doesn't want to be a hero, but he somehow ends up changing lives anyways. For over 60 episodes, the East Blue has felt enormous. We've met so many characters, visited so many islands, fought pirates, marines and everything else in between. But now moments like Reverse Mountain appear and I realize we've only just exited tutorial mode..I couldn't be more excited to see what the Grand Line has in store for us next!Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿WANT TO WATCH IN DUB?SYNC YOUR OWN VERSION HERE: https://youtu.be/UdarDQ436YII watched this on Netflix so the timing may be different if you're using Crunchyroll

Sorry this is so late! My power went out for 4 hours yesterday during my recording time so everything got pushed back Violet Evergarden will be coming tomorrow AM and Spy x Family tomorrow PM 🤍 I hope you all enjoy this filler arc as much as I did!

its one of one pieces worst aspects (imo) that filler stuff like, eric being on their ship while on reverse mountain, can sneak into otherwise canon episodes. Or Canon stuff like the calm belt explanation into a filler episode. But its kind of here to stay and in future fillers they mostly do a better job. I think this filler is very charming overall but would have been placed better between arlong park and logue town.

Thanks for watching the filler arc. and don't be sorry for it being late! Plan on watching all the filler arcs? I find them some of the most enjoyable to watch. Gives a break from the main story line and find the crew doing things we normally not see. At least for me, some of the filler arcs have been my favorite. Of course, there's some that is a must watch which is unamiously agreed upon in the community to watch.

SgtOddity

I am really enjoying this arc. Lots of fun! You really get to see the Straw Hats personalities. That being said (not to be a buzzkill) but this is not cannon. That doesnt really matter for the most part but theres one detail to clarify thats important: Zoro cannot cut steel.

man.. you're gonna catch up in no time. these big chunks of episodes are a wonderful binge for us

To clarify the map, they're in the Grand Line now. There is an entrance from each of the four Blues that flows upwards and meets at the top of Reverse Mountain, and then flows downward, exiting out into the entrance to the Grand Line. As Crocus said, Laboon is an Island Whale, a giant whale species from West Blue, but he's at the entrance to the Grand Line, periodically hitting his head against the Red Line, waiting 50 years for a certain pirate crew.

Thank you so much for the weekend One Piece binge!!

I know most people say don’t watch filler arcs but I’ve found in a lot of anime that if you skip filler or episodes even if it’s super tiny and not important to the story or the main character you still learn valuable things about the show so don’t let anyone tell you what to or not to watch this is your journey this is your one piece enjoy the way you want. Also just keep in the back of your mind the understanding of animals it becomes very important very later in the series not spoiling but when you get there it will make sense. Once your luffy ‘s friend he and his crew would move heaven and earth to help and save you he wouldn’t ask for anything but maybe some food he’s just that kind hearted kind of guy but you hurt or put his friends in danger he gets serious and watch out.

I have another question but this is for your fans can anyone tell me is that frieza’s or orochimaru’s voice actor it sounds super familiar.

kaliwali

Oo yeah, I agree this would have fit in well between Arlong Park & Loguetown!

kaliwali

I definitely plan on watching all the filler arcs! Do other reactors usually skip them? I wasn't sure if I should skip it or just watch. I've been enjoying OP so much that I thought I'd watch it all 😂

kaliwali

Ahh thank you so much! I was really confused clearly lol. But now looking back they do make that sharp turn at the top of Reverse Mountain!

kaliwali

LOL okay I'll keep that in mind 🤣

I’m personally not a huge fan of the filler arcs, when I watched the show during quarantine in 2020, I saw there were nearly 100 non-canon episodes and I wanted to catch up as quickly as possible. However, I went back and watched them, and they are fine. My issue is they are not essential to Oda’s already long story and sometimes feel out of place. If you want to know a good website to track which episodes are not canon to the story, Anime Filler List is the best one because it will also tell you if any episode is part filler, part canon. If you decide to watch them all though, that’s fine too! It’s still more time with the crew 😄

kaliwali

I was thinking this as I was watching episodes 55 and then 61 and 62! I was wondering how people would keep up with what was happening in 61 if they didn't watch the whole arc beforehand lol. I'm definitely glad I watched this filler arc & I'll keep doing the same because I honestly really enjoyed it!

Welcome to the Grand Line! Honestly, watching the filler arcs is part of the journey. Especially for your first time. These earlier episodes have so much goofiness in them, it's a lot of fun. Enjoy it.

randy bofill

Hi Kali. It varies, I've seen reactors do all filler arcs then others who don't. I'm in agreement with you, if you're enjoying OP, then take it all in. Not sure the fillers, but SBS's and cover stories too! Just cool you're seeing everything brand new now that you've seen all of East Blue Live action/Anime.

GarrukeWilde

Of course you can watch whatever you want. And in these earlier one piece anime arcs as you’ve just seen they do tend to mix some canon events with filler. And there are a couple of filler arcs that are genuinely pretty good. Having said that in my opinion I really think there are plenty of filler episodes that’s add nothing and can genuinely ruin some of the pacing. They are a lot later and some can’t be avoided because again they are mixed in with canon events. But there are multiple episodes that are just recap. Some are just tie in promotional episodes with other Shonen Jump anime that will make no sense if you haven’t read or watched them. Someone are just generally bad. I would recommend having someone you trust whether it’s in the community or any editors/moderators who know One Piece well to research and make a list. Or do it yourself if you can avoid spoilers. The same will become important with the opening and endings now. And the titles of the episodes. Those will have major spoilers soon too It’s very hard for me as a manga reader first to always get behind the community when it comes to filler arcs. The funnest and genuinely hilarious arc is ruined later in the anime by filler. One of the best early arcs is bogged down by filler soon. Even this. The entrance to the grand line which give clear and concise information in the manga before the great entrance is slowed down by a side quest. You were even confused by it and still had questions as to what the Calm belt was and if they were or weren’t in the Grand Line As always this is your journey. No one can tell you how to take it and there isn’t a bad way to do it. As always enjoy the reactions

Let's go now the story really gets going! Lol

Cuore

Luffy being able to understand Ryuji may not be as half baked as you think...

I love the schedule of this channel...you're able to watch other shows too and you binge watch One Piece in big chunks. Your pace is pretty fast wow...77 episodes in 2 months is insane output lol The artwork for the show will also be better and better as you go on, love your reactions Kali!
