I wanted to see if I'd be into this series since I remember loving Cyberpunk: 2077With the hype of the new season trailer, I decided to check out both season 1 and 2's trailers!Should I watch this soon!?

These trailers were INTENSE, but had that same Cyberpunk vibe I remember loving from being in the open world game 😱 So I feel like we might jump into this short series next??✨

This show was pretty good. Certainly had a cool look and vibe. I know a lot of people like it. I just wanted to plug the animated show based on a game that I think you would love, Arcane. One of my favorite shows ever.

Definitely recommend the dub for this one if you want it to feel even more like the game. They make great use of all the cyberpunk lingo/slang! Plus just overall great voice acting

Omg I was not expecting this. I would definitely want to see your reaction to this series, but for this series I would definitely recommend watching in English dub, it’s one of the shows where “I think” the English version is better than the Japanese version, but that’s just my opinion of course, I suggest going for whichever one you prefer.

Yeah, it's a really good show, and although I'd say the vibe is slightly different than the game, the world and night city are characters of their own, also, they added a few Easter eggs from the show in the game, so it might be an excuse to revisit night city once you're done with it. Regarding Cowboy Bebop, it's a huge cult classic and deservedly so, and even if personally, I'd like to see you react to that sooner rather than later, it's probably better jumping into it after Cyberpunk as that way it won't rob you of the experience of enjoying a good anime to then jump into one that's superior in almost every metric (in my very biased opinion anyway 😁).

New characters? No Keanu? He’s the reason I bought the game in the first place. I know this is a film and not a video game, but I want those characters. I have to start watching your gaming reactions. Is there a cyberpunk reaction? I loved your Red Dead redemption two arc but playing it and watching you play it was harder than it sounds. That’s it. I’m pulling out cyberpunk again. 🦿🦾💅

Would be very suprised if anyone told you not to watch these lol S1 was peak. And there’s a ton in the game similar to the show. They actually added stuff into the game post anime release. I usually never recommend dubs since sub is just so much better for anime in my opinion. This is probably one of maybe like 2 shows i’d say watch in dub and not sub.

Front to back, Cyberpunk 2077 has been one of my top gaming experiences of all time, and this show seems to carry so much of that same feel! Would loveee to see you react to it. It feels so true to the world. I even spied a set of stabby-stabby arm blades LOL. That's how I had my character set up :) Also the music! yesssss. Was one of my favorite parts of the game too. Nothing was better than blasting a shotgun or Johnny's revolver to the beat of that soundtrack

edgerunners is sooooo good. you mentioned cdpr working with edgerunners and it goes deeper. edgerunners is written by one of the writers for 2077. so it not only just takes place in the same universe, it is official canon to the game. ever since its announcement, i had been incredibly excited for the show solely because it was going to be animated by studio trigger, a studio that mostly still uses handdrawn animation with their works, one being delicious in the dungeon with loid from spy family as a voice actor. when 2077 first released it was a bit of a disapointment to say the least with its buggyness and broken promises they had made before release. edgerunners had been announced a year i believe before the game was out and it couldve been a case of them then just dropping the show since the launch of the game had been a let down but they worked on the game still like a year into it and when the anime was released, they released a patch for the game and it was amazing. there was new people coming into the game because of the anime and they knew this would be the case, so they heavily updated the games skill tree system as well as bringing in a ton of quality of life fixes. and then they went on to make the DLC which was incredible. so the show brought new life into the game and brought people back with the update that fixed a lot of things and brought in promises they had made as for the show, id def watch if you do. what i love is that its only 10 episode and under 30 minutes an episode. i wish shows would go back to being under 30 minutes, instead of close to an hour each. personal preference, not a fan of the dub just because of the main guy but would still watch.

I never really had any interest in watching this, but then I learned it was Studio Trigger. They have some other shows you should absolutely watch, Kill la Kill And Little Witch Academia. They are amazing, so I'm excited. I actually haven't watched this yet, so it will be a good reaction to the first time I've seen it as well. Okay, now having watched those trailers with you, I actually cannot believe that I have not watched this show yet. What am I doing? This type of stuff is literally what I watch animation for, as any good Studio Trigger project is. Ooh, Cowboy Bebop Spoiler! Excellent choice. It is just a classic 90s anime; I love it. The soundtrack is unbelievably good, and the story is fun. Shinichiro Watanabe is the director(Total genius), and you should also check out Samurai Champloo. It also has unbelievably good music. It's sort of a spiritual follow-up to Cowboy Bebop. It has nothing to do with it, but the tones are very, very analogous. I'm excited for Cowboy Bebop.

It's a good show but it was way overhyped imo I'm someone pretty casual who only watches a show when it gets a lot of hype. I loved the game played through it multiple times and was pretty let down by everyones excessive praise. I even went back and watched it in the dub cause I couldn't see where all of it was coming from I did like the dub better but it didn't change my opinion. its ok

Oh gosh Kali please do watch this series. It's intense for sure but it's so very good. When you started anime reactions this is one (of a few) I hoped would be on your watchlist but I wasn't sure since it can be a lot for some people. Great story, fantastic music, it's just a very good show so long as you can handle the intensity of it - which I have faith you can. Plus underneath all that there is some real heart to the show as well. I'm also typically team sub over dub however the dub version of this show is VERY good. But if you watch it, it's up to you. Also also, a little Cowboy Bebop coming up as well? Oh man we're really getting into my anime world now.

Yes a Japanese animation studio did the animation but this is a joint project. The Cyberpunk IP was made by an American, takes place in America and was then picked up by a Polish company who produced Edgerunners with Studio Trigger to Animate and direct scenes. It'd be like watching Castlevania in Korean Dub because they used Korean Animation Studios to assist in developing an American Show. It's not a one to one comparison but the point is that English is THE preferred way to watch the show for the English speaking audience.

I used to have 200+ hours on one of my Cyberpunk 2077 savegames until the cloud save got corrupted - just by hunting cyberpsychos - good times. Season 1 of Edgerunner came out in 2022, by the way. It's been four years! And I agree with the other comments, usually I'd always prefer to watch original dubs but this one is better in English (even the French dub has an amazing voice actor for Lucy and I don't even understand it - man, Lucy is such a good character, I love her).

I loved the game and put 80+ hours into the main quest and DLC. But never was able to get into the anime. So I'll be the unpopular opinion here! Sorry!

If you do end up watching this, I'd highly recommend watching the original Ghost in the Shell anime movie, which is one of the earliest seminal cyberpunk influences, along with Bladerunner, and other 80's/90's cyberpunk novels, like William Gibsons Neuromancer. Ghost in the Shell also later had a more... i wouldn't say kid friendly, but at the very least, a more "consumer friendly", anime tv show, that was still very thought provoking, and arguably still one of the best anime shows I've seen. It should be noted though that neither the movie or tv show were completely accurate to the source material they were based on, which is fine, but I mention it because there is also a new anime tv show upcoming in 2 days, which apparently should be closer to the source material in many ways. I guess we will see soon. Edited since I just saw the new show is out in 2 days (yaaay).

at most, there are some "cameo" references to characters from the show in the game, not sure if vice versa, since it's been a while since I saw the show.

idk what youre talking about with castlevania since its animation was done by an american based studio. trigger isnt just some studio for hire, their studio is in japan, mostly doing original japanese based media for a japanese audience. and japanese was the first promotion we got from the show, hence the reason for the japanese dub kali saw. so while hired by a polish based studio with an american studio, its still closer to being anime than a cartoon.

As a sub purist, the dub of this show is excellent! On another subject, have you been recommended Attack on Titan or Jujutsu Kaizen? I look forward to when you reach these shows in your anime journey!

As others have said, I recommend watching the English dubbed version. A lot of the Cyberpunk lingo kinda falls flat when translated to Japanese.

Especially since sometimes the dub voice acting isn't only in English. Same for the differences in accents. It matches the original world better.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners is much more adult than anything animated you have watched on the channel so far (nudity etc) but if you're ok with that then it's a good show.

I never got around to playing cyberpunk i remember all the reports of massive glitches put me off but maybe I should play it after I finish rdr1 if gta6 hasn't come out yet

Watch this one 100% and also watch Arcane (also on Netflix) as Dub. Arcane is probably the best animated show ever created. Highly recommend.

I don’t think that’s as much of an issue especially if his dad wasn’t Latino and with her being away a lot and him being exposed to so much western and American media, I’m have a Korean mother and Australian father but due to circumstances I developed a soft casual American accent so it’s not crazy that David has similiar circumstances to me.

After watching Edgerunners, there's an "episode 11" epilogue in the Wuthering Waves collab/crossover quest. It's free to play and after reaching Union Level 10 you can skip ahead to the Cyberpunk area. The collab event ends on Thursday this week so the Lucy & Rebecca playable characters will become unavailable, but the story quest will still be playable permanently.

I went into this anime with high expectations after hearing the praise it got. I watched it in pretty much in a day and its one of those shows that really stuck. I wish I could watch it all over again with fresh eyes. It made me see the game in a new light, and well. Its memorable.

The most interesting part about the Cyberpunk universe is how, at its core, it's a horror genre. All the action, sex appeal, beautiful visuals, etc are all to cover up the existential dread, body horror and psychological terror that you're witnessing.

I am a big fan of watching shows in the original language, but with this show, English is the way to go. the emotion is in the dub version. and wow I can't believe you only got that far in 2077, I absolutely loved the game and the series.
