I finally experienced my first 'Indiana Jones' film!!!

I had a really fun time with this movie! The action was nonstop. Every time Indy escaped one impossible situation, another would immediately pop back up. But it never got old watching him make it up as he goes. I can absolutely see why so many adventure movies and games were build on this incredible Spielberg/Williams foundation!Indiana Jones is also just... so ridiculously likable. He's smart, confident, capable. But he doesn't feel invicible LOL. He still gets knocked down, punched, shot at, and he's always just barely surviving. Half of his victories come from thinking on the fly or just getting extremely lucky. It makes every action scene feel super exciting because I genuinely never know how he's going to get out the next mess! This movie is just PURE adventure. It reminds me why I love these old blockbusters so much..They're unapologetically fun. The practical effects, the wild chases, the snakes...WHY WERE THERE SO MANY SNAKES 😅It was a super fun time & had me wishing I put more of these on my summertime vibes schedule!Thank you all for hanging out in another summertime vibe film!So far they've all been SO incredible.. Next up: The Mummy 👀fThank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/hYRmRBXYh58I watched this on Disney+

LOVE IT! My favorite out of the original trilogy! 💪

Robert da Spruce

I can hear the John Williams theme music! 😊

Hans Engelen

Ah this will be a treat for you. How could you not recognize Gimli !?

Chuckles1004

Yayyy!! Gotta see how you did with the snakes AND Spiders!! Haha Did you notice Doc Ock? He was Indy's guide that stole his idol, then met his demise quite quickly. LOL Hope you continue the trilogy!! I think the 3rd one will be your favorite

Paul Wright

Satipo, Indiana's guide who was killed on the way out of the cave, was played by Alfred Molina, who later played Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2 and No Way Home

Walker

Indiana”s guide who steals the idol at the beginning is the same actor who plays Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2. He’s so young here you can hardly tell. Did you recognize Gimli? His voice anyway.

Richard B

Not sure if you recognize the voice but John Rhys-Davies (Sallah) played Gimli in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Steve Mercier

"I don't know. I'm making this up as I go." Just possibly the greatest action/adventure movie of all time. No big deal. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

Chuckles1004

Did you notice Gimli? Haha 😄

La Baanga

Roger Ebert described this movie's structure as "One damn thing after another" and it's hard to argue.

20 16

Fun fact the scene where indy just shoots the big sword wielding man was actual his idea. Harrison was suffering from a bad case of dysentery and instead of the orginal drawn out battle like they wanted he instead opted to just shooting him making that legendary scene we have for today .

Fred Aczon

Indy was named after George Lucas's dog, who was also his inspiration for Chewbacca, the loyal sidekick. The cause and effect storytelling coupled with the practical effects is sooo good.

CamNofx

AHHH !! j'attendais avec impatience ta réaction a ce film! merci !!! tu verras les 3 premiers sont excellent , spécialement le troisième ! enjoy

Pete Luhtaniemi

Did you recognize the actor who played Sallah?

B.J. West

"He was a bad Hitler monkey" is just... premium kali content, LOL

Paul Ark

Any reaction where the reactor says “He was a bad Hitler monkey” is a top reaction in my book 😂

KJ

This and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade are the two great movies of this franchise and the only ones you need to watch. I love them both so much i often can't decide which I like more. Currently I think Last Crusade is better but only by half a star lol Raiders ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Crusade ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ½

Justyn

I've never seen any Indiana jones before but knowing that Dave jaffes inspiration for making God of wars temple of pandora with the traps and the old worn-down tomb look largely comes from this has me super hyped. I also loved jaws, so I already know that Spielberg's style is right for me.

Pete Luhtaniemi

For some reason I love John Williams's Indy score so much more than anything in Star Wars. And I absolutely adore Star Wars score

Richard

Wow Kali, I just made it through your amazing Wakanda reaction and now this 😀 Can't wait to see the snakes and spiders reaction. Have a great weekend. Love the yellow btw. OK I'm a few minutes in and already "burn him, burn the whole person" lol. Gotta love the hubris of the villains thinking that faithless miscreants would be allowed to channel supreme power.

Chuckles1004

Burn him, Burn him!!! Hahaha 🕷🔥

David Fürstenberg

The graffiti on the city map is in German. The phrase "Nicht Stören" means "do not disturb."

David L

Great reaction, Kali! The Temple of Doom is good too and The Last Cruasde is great! You should watch those to as soon as you get the chance on the schedule. The 4th one is still fun imo. And the 5th movie is well... it exists. Anyway I'm so glad you enjoyed Raiders or the Lost Ark. I saw this in theaters as a 6 year old kid and it blew my mind. Have a wonderful day,Kali!🙂

mitchhamilton64

just a fun good time movie. i know its cliche to say this but they really dont make movies like this anymore, where it takes itself seriously where it needs to and has fun when it needs to and neither one kind makes you roll your eyes at going to far one way or the other. that whole "peeping tom" scene is not what you think it is. what happened was marion was checking herself out in a mirror and indy was on the other side looking at his beaten face. marions side was dirty and she couldnt clean it so she flipped the mirror to indy's side, not realizing indy was close to the mirror and hit him hard in the face when she flipped it. originally tom selleck was meant to play indy but he was too committed to his show, magnum PI, but as you can tell, when selleck passed it went to harrison, to which tom said it was his greatest regret. idk how true this is, i think its kind of gotten legs of its own as time went on so the originally story is muddled a bit but, apparently with the sword guy there was this whole sequence planned out for harrison to engage in but he had a bad case of food poisoning and went to steven and was like "can i just shoot the sucker?" apparently everyone on the set got food poisoning except steven because he ate canned food and had bottled water.

Kiera

Fun submarine fact! Pre-war submarines (which Indy did hitch a ride on) had to surface fairly often to vent crew compartments of built up CO2 and let the diesel engines run, as the batteries used when underwater to power the propellers lasted only so long. Given this movie is in 1936, prior to WW2, there is little reason for the submarine to travel underwater for any amount of time. Indy therefore rode it all the way to that deserted Greek island (which is fictional, the actual submarine base filmed was at La Rochelle), itself an impressive feat. Also Belloq did not eat that fly! It's a fun little thing some people pick up on in first watches and has led to some wild theories/conversations. Lucas removed a few frames to make it appear that way.

Paul Ark

Spielberg had a huge fight sequence planned between Indy and the guy with the sword in the Egyptian market. But Harrison Ford was suffering from a bad case of food poisoning or stomach flu that day of the shoot (you can kind of see his misery on his face at the end of the scene), so he suggested to Spielberg that he ought to just shoot the guy and skip the fight scene. And hence, one of the all-time great endings to a fight scene, as short as it is. This, and Ford’s suggestion that he respond to Leia’s “I love you” with his “I know” in Empire Strikes Back shows you just how in tune Ford is with his most iconic characters and how his on-the-fly suggestions really enhance the characters he plays.

KJ

This is kind of a spoiler, do you want to delete?

AzraRillian

I highly recommend the new Indiana Jones video game , since you don't need to have watched any of the movies. In fact, the prologue is a recreation of the opening of this movie., right down to Alfred Molinas scared face.

David L

My thoughts exactly! Crystal Skull is just the occasional guilty pleasure to watch. But the 5th one is terrible. I turned it off 20 - 30 minutes in. Terrible film. I go Raiders, Last Crusade Temple of doom, then Crystal Skull. Indy 5 doesn't exist imo. There was no reason to make 4 and 5 except for cash grabs. One of the best trilogies imo!

ButtercupsTrueLove

Alfred Molina is the main character in a new Netflix series, "The Boroughs". In episode 2, the uses a key he found in his home to open a public storage unit but the door only slides up a few feet and won't stay open, so he has to stoop under it before it shuts of its own weight, reminiscent of the heavy stone door that almost trapped Indy in the temple with the gold idol. He rummages around the boxes inside the unit and at one point there is a golden idol head similar to the one that Indy snatched. There may have been more nods to "Raiders" (and maybe Alfred's other films) in "The Boroughs" but I wasn't looking for them and may have missed them.

pinkdino99

Kali... your "bad Hitler monkey !" line killed me ! I first saw this in cinemas as a young teen, and it became one of my fave films of all time. But The Big Bang Theory and one throwaway line ruined it for me. Lucas was raised on Saturday morning adventure shows on TV... Buck Rogers became his Star Wars, and the swashbuckling adventure shows became Indiana Jones. Alfred Molina had to fight his severe arachnophobia with his tarantula scene. All of the spiders were female which were provided by a pro handler, and they were very docile, quite happy to just sit there. Spielberg asked if they could be livened up a bit, to which the handler said they go mad if you introduce a male, which they did much to Molina's disgust. This was a very early Industrial Light & Magic project. The Light & Magic TV series is really worth watching. Harrison Ford suffered terrible food poisoning which led to the shortened fight scene and him shooting the Saracen. We also have John Rhys Davies as Sallah, otherwise known as Gimli from Lord of the Rings. Karen Allen you can also catch with Bill Murray in Scrooged, perfect for Christmas and Denholm Elliot was in another perfect Christmas movie Trading Places with Eddie Murphy, Dan Ackroyd (Ghostbusters) and Jamie Lee Curtis (Have you seen Halloween yet ? HINT HINT !) We also have a few Star Wars links. There is a hieroglyphic of R2-D2 and C3-PO in the crypt. The CIA officer played "Porkins", the first Rebel X-Wing pilot to get shot down during the Death Star assault at Yavin. If you think Porkins is an awful name, William Hootkins went on to play "Mr Fatty" directly afterwards in Valentino. Sheesh... So now to the spoilers, and feel free to opt out here... ... ... Still here ? OK... so first the throwaway line. Jones had not seen Ravenwood in over ten years due to a "falling out" which was of course over his mentor's very young daughter whom Jones had a physical relationship with whilst he was in his twenties. "I was a child !" Marion screams at him. Yeah... Second the Big Bang Theory paradox... you can remove Indiana Jones from the plot entirely and the ark would still have killed all of the Nazis anyway. Whether they would have taken it to some deserted island where it would have sat afterwards in peace, and probably buried itself again, or even worse, if it was opened in the presence of the Furer himself, Jones really has no impact on what happens to the ark at all and may have accidentally missed an opportunity to kill Hitler. Even so, this will regularly be on top ten all time movie lists from both fans and critics alike. It is as you say, a perfect adventure movie, and has the perfect movie star driving it. Blade Runner should also be quite high on your list now of essential peak Harrison Ford movies.

pinkdino99

We told her that about X-Men 3 and Wolverine: Origins... :)

David L

Yeah I know. It won't bother me if she does all 5 of them. If fact she should. Those were just my opinions alone as someone who saw all of them when originally released in theaters except for 5 with I watched on Amazon as a rental or Disney +. I just can't remember which one.

KJ

... How did you figure out the head piece the nazis had was based on the burned hand before the reveal?

Dave Morgan

His real name is not Indiana. That's all I'll say for now

MGH

Harrison Ford has a third iconic role: Rick Deckard in Blade Runner. It's a beloved sci fi noir... I think you'd love it.

Andy Jordan

Wonderful reaction, Kali! The Indy films were very much a part of my childhood, so I'm glad you're starting them. On that note, I feared I would have to step in as a defender of the 4th and 5th installments, as I expected them to get called out prematurely, but since I don't wish to spoil anything, I will simply say that all five entries in the franchise are all of roughly equal quality if you simply remember that they are all tall tales, not just the first three. 4 and 5 are simply high fantasy like the first three, just sent in different eras and using different paranoias and interests befitting those eras. I like that you noted it doesn't take itself too seriously, and you're right, it doesn't, and none of them do, so just sit back and enjoy the ride. Raiders is set in 1936, a time period where tomb raiding became a fascination after King Tutankhamun's tomb was found in 1922. And the next Indy installment, Temple of Doom, is technically a prequel, as it's set in 1935; Temple of Doom, if I have to choose, is my personal favorite. Although I noticed others mentioned John Rhys-Davies played Sallah (Gimil in Lord of the Rings), just for completeness, he also was the voice of Treebeard, as well. Good catch on the similarities between Leia's Theme and Marion's Theme: they both have the same G-E-D-E opening, and both with the G on the pick-up and second note being the longest held note landing on the first beat (my degree's in Music). A couple of fun stunt facts: the infamous Indy passing underneath the truck was performed by stuntman Terry Leonard, who had previously tried a similar stunt only months earlier on The Legend of the Lone Ranger, where he tried passing underneath a stagecoach, itself an homage to the same stunt in 1939's Stagecoach. But when Leonard passed underneath the horse, the horse got spooked and changed direction, causing the stagecoach to run over Leonard's legs, tearing his ligaments and breaking several bones. When he recovered and got the Raiders job, he asked Spielberg if he could create a similar sequence so he could have another shot at the stunt, and he did. If you look closely in the long shot as he passes underneath the truck, you can make out a shallow ditch that was dug to allow Leonard just enough clearance to pass underneath. Also, those were not asps, which, as Sallah warns, are very dangerous, but the one actual poisonous snake on set, the one that rears up at Indy, was an actual cobra. What they did was place a large sheet of glass in between Ford and the snake so that he was in no danger, with the camera positioned so it wouldn't pick up any glare/reflection. Regarding the relative grossness of some of the sequences, the shot of Belloq's head exploding originally didn't have any fire surrounding it, but the MPAA insisted it be obscured so as to not get an R-rating, thus necessitating Spielberg coming up with his head being surrounded by fire. And the next Indy film, Temple of Doom, would be almost single-handedly responsible for the introduction of the PG-13 rating. Before, it and Raiders got a PG rating because there was nothing in between. But with the Indy films challenging how far a PG rating could be pushed, Spielberg himself lobbied the MPAA to have an in-between rating, and PG-13 was born. And on the subject of Temple of Doom, my favorite, being next, I would like to humbly submit a little miniseries of films in relative closeness to each other, because it's one of my favorite Hollywood stories. Temple of Doom (Indy 2) introduced the world to a young kid actor named Ke Huy Quan, who played Indy's sidekick. He would then go on to play Data in The Goonies (alongside Sean Astin, Corey Feldman and Josh Brolin in his first film role), another all-time '80s classic. But as an Asian kid actor, the roles started to dry up and he didn't get much else after that beyond a failing sitcom and a small two-line role in 1992's Encino Man (also featuring a young, unknown Brendan Fraser and Sean Astin again). Following that, he quit acting, went to film school and spent the next 25 years working behind the camera, assistant directing and choreographing stunts, including for the first X-Men film. Then in 2018, with the success of Crazy Rich Asians, Quan decided to give acting one more go and he was soon cast by the directing team of The Daniels in Everything Everywhere All at Once (one of my official Top 10 Films), and it became the indie hit of the millennium, winning practically every award (Golden Globes, BAFTA, Critics' Choice, etc.), especially at the Academy Awards, where it won seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh (the first Asian actress to win the award), and is now the most awarded film in history. But one of those Oscars also went to Ke Huy Quan for Best Supporting Actor, and his acceptance speech is I think one of the most moving in Oscars history. You don't even have to know who he is to be movied. To think that Hollywood basically forgot him after two hit films in the mid-'80s, then he makes a comeback almost 30 years later and wins an Oscar in the most unlikely film that won more awards than any other is staggering. It's an incredible story of hope and resilience. And a couple of fun side notes: when EEAAO won the Best Picture Oscar, it was Harrison Ford who presented it, and when the EEAAO team went up to accept the Oscar, Quan and Ford were reunited onstage after 30 years with an Oscar to go with it. And later that night, after Quan won for Best Supporting Actor, his fellow Encino Man co-star Brendan Fraser won Best Actor for The Whale, another comeback story for Fraser himself. To think that in 1992 when I saw Encino Man, a quirky little comedy, that two actors in that film would 30 years later accept acting Oscars on the same night; you can't make this stuff up. And they also reunited afterwards backstage. So I humbly submit for your consideration a Ke Huy Quan miniseries: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), The Goonies (1985), Encino Man (1992, optional) and Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022). Looking forward to Temple of Doom!

Kali during spider scene: OH NO! Burn him... burn the whole person! 🤣 How many OH NOs during the whole movie? We can have a drinking game! I'm surprised you didn't say, "THE MUSIC" more! Yes!!! Raiders of the Lost Ark is probably my favorite action adventure movie of all time. Nearly flawless movie: the story, writing, humor, direction, cinematography, acting, action choreography, and of course THE MUSIC! And I love the usage of the history (1930s), archeology, the Bible and the supernatural! This movie, based adventure serials form the 40s, then inspired so many games and movies (Tomb Raider, Uncharted, and... the Mummy). So happy you finally got to watch and experience it! By the way, Indy wasn't a peeping tom! The mirror had two sides, so when Marion flipped it over (one side was dirty), she smacked Indy in the head by accident. And you missed the Indiana Jones reference in Wakanda Forever here. When Belloq asked Marion to wear the dress, that's what Riri was referring to when Shuri was offered clothing to wear.

DarthChef

Favorite fun movie fact: Lucas and Spielberg we vacationing in Hawaii (before any real fame these guys were already friends) at some point after A New Hope and they starting taking about the old serialized cliffhanger reels they played before the main attraction in movie theaters when they were growing up. The idea being you would have to go back the next week and see the next episode because they always ended on a cliffhanger and you had to see what happened next. They talked about ideas for a whole movie with cliffhanger after cliffhanger and decided they needed to make this movie. The story goes they flipped a coin to see who would direct and who would produce. There is a universe out there where Lucas directed this movie.

KamikazeCDN

Such a classic and always great to watch again. So many iconic moments came from this movie too. The theme song, the boulder scene, "Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?", the melting face/head. Just so much. I know it's been suggested a few times over the years, but you really should add Blade Runner to your watchlist, or move it up the list if it's already there, for another iconic Harrison Ford role. Not sure if you noticed it at all but the actor that played his friend Sallah is the same actor that played Gimli in The Lord of the Rings movies.

Josh Karpoff

At the end, the reason why they survived and the Nazis didn't, is that you aren't supposed to look at the wrath of God. Remember what the angels told Lot in the Bible as they fled God's wrath upon the cities of Soddom and Gomorrah, "DON'T LOOK BACK". Lot's wife didn't listen and was turned into a pillar of salt. Here we have the Ark of the Covenant, which the Hebrew tribes carried with them into battle to represent the power of the Hebrew god to protect them against their foes. Belloq and the Nazis opened the Ark and then looked upon the power of God contained within. The Hebrew God of the Old Testament, being a bit spiteful by nature, especially with a group of non-believers, Jew killing non-believers at that, turns his wrath upon them, but spares Indy and Marion for believing enough in God's power, heading the warning of the talisman head of the staff of Ra from earlier and showing humility before God by keeping their eyes closed.

John

One thing I've always found so fascinating about the Ark of the Covenant is that the Bible gives very specific details on exactly how it was made. I'm talking engineering level detail. A wooden box, covered on the inside and outside in gold. Very specific dimensions. With 2 acacia poles used to carry it. The lore says anyone touching the Ark would be struck dead by the power of God. A box made of wood with inside and outside made of gold would essentially be a massive capacitor. Carrying that through the dry desert winds would induce an unbelievable static charge into the box. It could easily electrocute anyone who touched it if it was highly charged and grounded it. Hence, the insulating acacia poles to carry it. Edit: It was acacia wood, not ash for the poles.

Josh Karpoff

The warehouse at the very end provided a significant inspiration for a very good and fun sci-fi/modern fantasy series "Warehouse 13". The premise is that certain historical objects are so important that they become imbued with relevant mystical powers, which makes them dangerous, so there are agents that throughout history have been charged with identifying and gathering these dangerous objects, then storing them in a giant, secret, warehouse, stashed safely away from the rest of humanity. It's a very cute, lighthearted, fun, whimsical show that ran for a couple of seasons on the SyFy network, along with a counterpart series, "Eureka", which is about a secret, hidden, town full of top scientists and engineers, researching new technologies for the US government. Things tend to not go according to plan in this town and shenanigans ensue and everyone gets saved by the only "average" person in town, the Sheriff.

Justyn

this movie was absolutely BANANAS wtf.

Ron White

This was maybe the most facially animated reaction I have ever seen! It was just sheer fun watching your facial expressions run the entire gamut and change second to second. You put a lot of life back into a movie I have seen countless times. It was complete fun watching you have so much fun. This is what video reactions are meant to be!

Synthetic_CK

Bet Nazi monkeys weren't on your bingo card.

James Park

You have to watch all 3 I cannot wait for the last crusade reaction no spoilers but there's a scene on a train that im excited for your reaction

Dan Gonya

Rewatch the scene with the mirror and you'll see what's going on. It's actually really funny.

Kyle Camasosa

Hey Kali! I’m happy your watching the Indiana Jones Movies! When I first came to America from the Philippines the Indiana Jones Movies where the first movies I ever watched in the US. I really hope you can watch Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade! The next one is the Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom. But the Last Crusade (3rd movie) is the most favorite one or atleast the 2nd favorite prior to its more comedy and fun adventure! Great Reaction! I just had to get the membership to watch you, bring back my childhood through watching the Indiana Jones Movie! 😄 Edit: Also The Indiana Jones movies take place during World War 2! In real history the Nazis were intensely interested in collecting artifacts, but their motivations were deeply rooted in racist ideology, propaganda, and a desire to legitimize the "Aryan" master race rather than the quest for supernatural power seen in films. However they still did archeology finds and traveled to find relics

Robert da Spruce

Glad you liked this one Kali! Not sure if you were aware, But Sallah is played by Jonathan Rhys-Davies a.k.a Gimli from LOTR

McShades

This was Spielberg and Lucas baby but Williams is always there doing the amazing music... The next movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom wasn't quite as good as the first one, but still very entertaining, but the third movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was awesome.... I wasn't a big fan of the 4th and 5th movies...

colin summers

I remember seeing this in the theater with my family. I must have been 4 or 5 at the time and that last scene with the melting faces was burned into my brain despite my parents trying to cover my eyes. Even though it's not as wild or complex as I remember being it still holds up pretty good. Looking forward to 2 and 3 not sure if I will make it to 4 and 5 though hahaha.

Michael Enos

Bad Hitler Monkey ---New band name.. I called it!!

Andrew Thompson

One of the greatest of all time! (Also, I hope that you and the family are not too affected by the wildfires in Canada.)

Phil Stubblefield

Because Kali is one of the smartest reactors on YouTube! 😁

Kal

As usual a very fun and entertaining reaction, loved it. I wish they made more movies like these nowadays, but it sometimes feels like we've traded fun and earnestness for gritty and aiming to be deep. Technical prowess has dramatically increased, but a lot of charm has gone with it. Love seeing you react to these old gems, can't wait for the mummy and the rest of the Indy trilogy (yes, they stop at 3 😆)

RP

Hahaha “just burn him , the whole person!“ Awesome 🍻

SMPUNK

Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark a classic and a movie i never get tired of rewatching it. Basically love the whole franchise. Hope u get to react to the other 4 films Kali.

PaulieXP

3 is my favorite by far.

PaulieXP

Don't worry, at the end there the Ark is being stored in the Warehouse. Artie, Pete and Micah will take good care of it :))

Shane

imagine Han Solo, Doc Ock, and Gimli Son Of Gloin all in movie together!..... apparently George Lucas had a whole fought scene planned out between Jones and the Sword guy but Harrison Ford argued that Indy would just shoot him and move on and it became one of the most epic scenes in cinema! 🤣..... the sequel is as good as the first but the 3rd is peek Indy! there really is something so "feel good" about old cinema that has been lost in modern times!

kaliwali

I THOUGHT the voice sounded familiar but I couldn't place why 🤣

kaliwali

Woah, interesting!! Ty for sharing this! Very cool how much detail went into this!

John

On the ship, it was a double-sided mirror. Indy was looking at his injury when Marion flipped the mirror over, and it hit him in the chin. The Nazi boat was a submarine, but subs of that era were diesel powered and had to run on batteries when submerged. Since they had limited battery life, they'd travel on the surface most of the time to run on the diesel engines.

John

Exodus 25:10-22 gives the details on how the ark was to be built.

Onno Smits

Your reaction leading up to the guy getting killed by the plane propellors was hilarious! 🤣 Gosh, I hadn't seen this movie in ages, what a blast! Super impressive stunts and set-pieces.

MorahSDG

Indy innocent, he wasn’t a peeping tom, Marion just was trying to use the better side of the mirror to see herself, flipped it, and smashed his chin without realizing it! It’s just some classic slapstick at the expense of an already sore and injured Indy! Glad you enjoyed this one!!

Michael

Indy was on the other side of the mirror, Marion was cleaning it she flipped it and it hit him in the face

Schroecat

Just remember that there are only 3 Indiana Jones movies. No matter what anyone tells you. No matter the lies propagated online. There are only 3 Indiana Jones films.

Musashi

The second one is my favorite movie. People's opinions about it are pretty ambivalent but I think it's great. And the third one is SO good and funny. A truly masterful trilogy

Milton Reduxed

I've never seen a woman so confused by a spinning mirror before haha

Joe W

Good to know you will be watching these three great films! …because as we all know, they made three and NO MORE! 😊

David Lipps

It's funny cause this movie was made at a time where the majority of people in America still had somewhat of a biblical background. And as it would play out, most audiences would generally know God had very strict rules when it came to handling and viewing the Ark. And those that disregarded those rules would immediately be killed by Him. Of course, it's a Spielberg movie and shouldn't be expected to be like Biblically accurate by any means, but it's funny watching reactors today ask what's happening and why when God's angels are killing the Germans for mishandling the ark and looking inside it. I saw one ask if it was aliens. lol still one of the best reactions I've watched though. And "He was a bad Hitler monkey" is the best thing I've heard so far in 2026. I died. lol

Kevin Cavanaugh

My favorite is when you try and reason why the Nazis would do something….why did that guy throw the melon at the dog…because they’re Nazis and Nazis are bad….haha. Great reaction K ali…as usual!
