These episodes made the situation in Alabasta fully click for me. Before this, I obviously understood that there was a rebellion and Crocodile was manipulating everything behind the scenes.. but after traveling through the desert with Vivi and seeing what happened to these cities and their people made it feel so much bigger. The Dance Powder! The fact that Crocodile/Baroque Works were able to use that against Cobra..That is EVIL. And honestly, such a smart way to destroy a country because you don't even have to conquer it yourself. You just make the people stop trusting in their King and let everything fall apart form the inside..You can just feel how deeply Vivi loves Alabasta and how much all of this hurts. Every ruined city and every person suffering isn't just some random place or stranger to her. This is HER home. Her people. And knowing that her father is being blamed for something he would never do makes it ache.I feel like we've been slowly walking deeper and deeper into something REALLY bad lol.We spent so much time hearing about the rebellion, Crocodile, Baroque Works, the drought. Now we finally got to see the consequences of it all and it's ugly.I'm actually loving the slower burn of this arc for those reasons.See you all next week for more Alabasta!Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿WANT TO WATCH IN DUB? The intros of the episodes has naturally no spoilers, but the later ones. My opinion is, if you watch all intros now, there are some type of massiv spoilers because now you know some people of the story. But of course: it's your decision.

I can see where you are coming from with the intros/outros i also love watching them before episodes. But there is a good solution. The next opening is particularly famous for having a massive spoiler. As a suggestion you could hold out on watching the next intro from episode 116 (when it airs) -131 (episode after spoiler happens). Then when you watch it you can decide if spoilers of that magnitude (it is one of the bigger ones even compared to other one piece intros) are fine for you, and decide after if you want to continue watching them.

kaliwali

oooh I see. so it hasn't been for the ones that have happened so far. 🤔

kaliwali

oooh okay so it hasn't happened in openings yet but will. I didn't realize that! well i'll do what you suggest then to test the theory & just consider the next one not safe until after! thank you for explaining so I don't get spoiled!

You know. This isn’t as bad of filler as I remember. It does give a decent sense of the people and the conflicts with Baroque Works to come. The only odd part is Ace. In the manga after he meets Luffy’s crew and then blows up all the Billions ships he sails off to contour pursuing Blackbeard. We get a sense of his power and his bond with Luffy but he has his own goals and adventures to deal with so it’s juts a small snippet into his world. Here, he’s juts kinda….around. Placed in shots, doesn’t speak a lot do a lot. It’s pretty funny.

This is My first rewatch and i swear i didnt remember ace staying with the crew for as long as he did lol i thought he destroyed the ships and left to go after black beard. Bro literally tagged along for 2+ episodes Thats crazyy

Man I love Vivi so much. Many of the female side characters in One Piece are extremely endearing and compelling, but Vivi just holds a special place in my heart. Feels really good to rewatch this.

So it is 👍 the intros are for the current episode, and the later intros have all the stuff what's the episodes all about. Ist about the people, the feelings and the enemy's you don't know now. Or for example you get spoiled about future mates from Luffy and I think that's a massive spoiler. It is Odas thing to make mystify characters, to show them later. And you would see that all if you watch the later intro to early.

JoyBoy69

98-99 were filler but that's ok

SgtOddity

Ive never watched these fillers before. Cant really place how I feel about them haha. I think Im mostly just too excited for the cannon episodes to care about the Sand Pirates and Fake Rebel Army. That being said they were not bad. Amazing reaction Kali, thank you!

randy bofill

Love how you react to the fillers. Wish more reactors were like you. Particularly these where it just deepens the character for Vivi and how she affects so many people of her country. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Malik Vaughan

Yeah, I think after you see it, you’ll realize just how massive of a spoiler it is

Malik Vaughan

Great reaction! It’s been ages since I’ve seen this part of Alabasta and I totally forgot how fun the filler was, especially because we get to see my favorite character, Ace. The sand pirates completely left my memory, but that voice actor sounds so familiar! I also just have to point out how much I love Luffy's voice actress. Her inflections always crack me up. I have no idea what she's actually saying, but it never fails to entertain.

Josue

Death by dung. What a way to go out. Also, one of my favorite things is when the crew be beating up on Luffy when he's being an idiot (which is all the time lol)

kaliwali

yeah! I'm planning on still watching fillers but prob won't post them on youtube

Equinoux

Didn’t happen in the manga it’s all anime canon so maybe that’s why

So "hard-boiled" is a term that originates from pulp/noire stories from the early 1900s, and it basically just means manly haha As for openings/endings, opening 3 has a particularly nasty spoiler (which is a real bummer because it's one of my absolute favs and you can't watch it for like half the time it's around!) but imo most of the others are fine, and off the top of my head I don't think there are any endings that need to be avoided :P I do think some anime fans tend to go overboard with what they consider spoilers in anime openings and I think part of the experience of watching an anime is watching the openings and endings as they change

Isaac Noël

there's only 1 intro you really need to skip because it puts a super obvious and massive spoiler right in the first 15 seconds. others openings will put parts of scenes from future battles and stuff but theres this one super famous spoiler in one of the openings that pisses everyone off. I cant remember which number it is but im sure someone will tell you which one to skip

EgregiousGrievous

Everyone says they will watch the fillers until the first few and will start to skip them later on because they are so bad and they can tell right away how bad they are LOL.
