These episodes were INSANE. And I'm leaving with way more questions than answers, again lol.

Victor Timely was NOT who I expected him to be. I spent the whole time wondering how much of He Who Remains already existed inside of him. I second guessed everything he did. Is becoming that person inevitable? Or are we really watching proof that variants can be completely different people depending on the choices they're given? I mean.. look at Gamora.Victor doesn't feel like He Who Remains at all. He's brilliant, a little shady yeah LOL, but also sweetly awkward, nervous, curious, and almost innocent. I kept waiting for the plot to drop, another layer to reveal itself.. but it never came. And thinking back now on that multi-loom device.. It felt almost WAY too specific considering what the TVA is currently struggling with. Maybe Victor was always the mind behind the technology? Maybe that's why he Who Remains needed this version of himself to be found? My head is spinning still just trying to wrap my head around WHO actually made the TVA lol. Was it OB? Was it Victor? WHO AND WHYAnd Miss Minutes... giiiiiiirl 😅I always got a weird slightly unhinged vibe from her.. But now we finally know her true colors & they aren't prettyThen Episode 4 came and just ripped the floor out from under everything.Victor turned into STRAIGHT SPAGHETTI!?And that blinding light to darkness... Is the TVA gone? What happens now!?I can't help but hold on hope that maybe the Loom was supposed to be destroyed. That maybe Loki was trying to hard to fix the TVA, but he had to let it go.Accept Sylvie's way. Destroy it all. Maybe the universe isn't supposed to fit neatly inside a machine.Maybe chaos isn't the thing that needs fixing. Maybe control is.INSANE cliffhanger to leave on this week, but now I can't wait to see what happens in the beginning of episode 5! Really enjoying rewatching season 2 with you. It's short and sweet and we're already more than halfway done! Can't wait to read and hear your thoughts on the finale!

I love reading your recap. And I will look forward to watching the reaction. I have said it before, and I will say it again. I love your brain. The way you contemplate the plot is truly next level. This is one of the reasons why I truly wish you would react to all the seasons of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

kaliwali

Thank you!! I definitely want to check out Agents of SHIELD. Soooo many recommendations for that one and the What If series AND Agent Carter! I want to circle back to those when I'm all caught up and out of MCU timeline content for sure!

Wait wait wait wait wait......... Kali plays D&D?!

"What If" after you're caught up is a good place for it The best place for season 1 would've been before Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness, but since that passed, the best date is definitely after catching up. If you ever want to get into it sooner though, the best spot is after "Agatha All Along" and before "Captain America Brave New World" as that is when the series ended, so there's nothing it could spoil!

Alvin Cura

I think I agree. But FWIW, I think that remembering what events associate to what events in Kaliwali's brain will be great regardless of when she decides to do it at this point. The "best" for MAOS would have been right after Avengers (2012) and ongoing through time. But I don't think it's so stringent now. I bet her plot/event brain will see the connections anyway.

Day Blueberry

Wait are we talking both "MAoS" and "MWI?"? Cause I was just talking "MWI?", if I had mentioned "MAOS" it would've been WAY more intricate of a comment lol With all the timings of episodes and events corresponding to movies and vice-versa like you said

I remember being so incredibly shocked and flabbergasted the first time I saw Victor turn into spaghetti. So much build up to needing to find him, needing him to fix the machine, him and OB working together. And then when we finally get to the moment? BAM! Spaghettification. No fix to the Loom. Crazy cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see your reaction to the final two episodes and everything you’ll have to say afterwards. Also, I enjoy the powerful almost kinda mic drop moment from Loki when he responds to Sylvie’s concerns about “playing God” with the seemingly simple but incredibly relevant fact “We are gods.” She was kidnapped by the TVA as a child so she wasn’t around for the entire life Loki and Thor grew up seeing Odin rule over the Nine Realms. She knows the life of a Variant more than she knows the life of a God, which is why she went to live a normal life on the timeline working at McDonalds. Meanwhile Loki in the same conversation is realizing since arriving at the TVA he’s finally learning the lessons Odin was trying to teach Thor in his first movie. Who was way too prideful and trigger happy to start war with the Frost Giants before being banished. Loki responded by trying to be BETTER at waging war in Thor 1 and Avengers 1, but now finds himself being the one doing everything possible to stave off war. So now it’s almost as if the weight of his godhood is finally starting to set in for Loki the way it did for Thor in his first 2 movies, mostly because he has to keep constantly trying to convince Sylvie (the only other God in the room) to stay and help him when she would rather ignore it all and let whatever happens, happen. Even if what happens is potentially catastrophic. Sylvie is kinda like X-5/Bradley in a way where neither of them really want to fight a side in this battle, they just want to go blend back in to the timeline and enjoy freedom. But neither of them can until the battle is over. P.S. He Who Remains actually does mention in his explanation last season that a lot of his variants were working together to help use their technology to improve each other’s universes. But the problem were not ALL of his variants were as “noble” and many instead saw the opportunity to conquer. Like the one from Antman 3 who was a variant of the version of him/them known as Kang the Conqueror. So the problem is less the fact that all his variants are evil, and more so that ALL his variants will figure out how to manipulate time and travel across the multiverse somehow. And once they do, the evil variants will have no issue destroying and/or conquering the timelines of the less malicious variants.

Props to Kali for noticing the "Bootstrap Paradox". The reason we can't know "who created the TVA" is because that info has effectively been passed backward through time in a closed loop. It has no identifiable point of origin.

So excited for you to get to the finale! Loki season 2 is probably my favorite thing from the multiverse saga so far. I'm like you, I like things that get my brain going ha... but yeah, been a nice treat getting to watch this again with you!

Alvin Cura

My bad! Yes, everything you just said. ;-)
