omg! im so glad you decided to watch the op! i was really against, like unless you are very, very, very against spoilers, i dont think op's are spoilers. some attack on titan op's for instance has some stuff sprinkled that if you know youll go "oh my gosh! they hinted at something!" but for the most part, without context, i dont think its spoilery, and even if they show something like a character whos been absent for several seasons, i still dont think its a spoiler. just makes you go "i wonder when that will happen?" also just the fact youre reacting to another song by "mrs. green apple" who did the op song for frieren season 2.

James Park

Its amazing to see how you and your channel has grown since your twitch days i knew you were special back then, 😊 words of great encouragement

Thanks Kali! Working hard on a Sunday! We appreciate you! 😀

Okay this is not all about these episodes but... ngl, I feel like that’s the whole point of an anime opening. Well, besides trying to go viral on the internet😂 Since most OP/ED songs are tailor-made for that specific season (or even a particular arc or character), they do an incredible job of capturing the anime’s identity. You can really feel how distinct the vibes are between Frieren, Demon Slayer, Spy x Family, and now The Apothecary Diaries. Music is easily one of my favorite parts of anime and even if a track isn't my style, I love how perfectly it captures the soul of the show. I've been wanting to make some videos about anime songs and soundtracks, but I just haven't found the time yet. (Also, what actually made me decide to join patreon was when you pointed out the soundtrack in Demon Slayer 😆) Finally, I don't know why, but I feel like I enjoy this season even more than the first one. this season has been doing so well!

I got to know Mrs. GREEN APPLE because of Frieren, and I didn't even know that they are SO BIG in Japan

Unfortunately Lishu can't just get new ladies in waiting like its nothing. Ladies in waiting more often than not come from noble and prestigious families so it is very hard to remove them from their position without any opposition. There are extreme cases such as what happened with Lihua and her former head lady in waiting when she tried to cause a miscarriage. Another reason is that ladies in waiting are usually chosen or provided by the concubines family and it should be remembered that Lishu at a very young age was given to the former emperor by her father for a political scheme so it's very unlikely he cares much about how Lishu is treated by her ladies in waiting.

This is my favorite ED

Jinshi & Gaushun have never seen Suirei… at least not where they could put a face to a name. They only knew who it was.

Howie

The slow-burn dynamic between MaoMao and Jinshi is one of the best not just in anime, but in all forms of entertainment media! The anticipation! I remember watching the ice cream episode and then having a craving to eat some 🍨 I think i have some haagen dazs in the freezer now.... 🤤

charlie

I mean this is just a single instance there is a One Piece Opening for instance that spoils something before it was even revealed in the manga

So Jinshi and Gaoshun never actually met Suirei, so of course they don't recognize her on sight. Indeed, Suirei was originally in the outer court, so almost nobody in the rear palace would recognize her, with the exception of Maomao.

mitchhamilton64

these next few weeks are going to be great! jinshi was laughing at maomao because of the excuse she was using. she had to make a like official excuse to why it would be beneficial to help xiolan instead of just "shes my friend and i want to help" and he knows that. and about them talking about luoman being normal, you have to admit that maomao has a bad habit of acting before thinking, even if shes right about something. and she very recently couldnt control herself when she saw a lizard, and accidentally gave them all aphrodisiacs because she couldnt help but pick herbs. maomao is far from normal even if we love her. here we learned that laman and fengxian got married. i love that he refers to the go game he had with her as the main topic, in a meeting where one of the topics was the attempted assassination of the emperors brother. xD goes to show how much he loves fengxian.

Ophion

Just reminding you that none of the servant girls or eunuchs' would know about Suirei because she was a court lady in the Outer Court and was never in the Rear Palace.

fishy

lakan using his love for fruit juices to expose shishous colourblindness was genius

Sean Dame

Great reaction. I'm loving rewatching this one. Picking up so much I missed the first time.

Jason

More reason why Lady Gyokyou is one of my favorites. She is really wise, and straight-forward. She also has absolute trust in Maomao which is rare and amazing given all the hints they suggest about Lady Gyokuyou as being very cautious and very wary about adding people to her inner circle.

Josue

Honestly, a lot of anime OPs have some amount of spoilers... But without context, you won't even know or notice most of the time. It's not until you've come across that thing or moment that you're like 'Oh that was in the OP!' You'll be fine. I also have a (very long) playlist where I add every anime-related song I like. Excited for you to get into this arc. It's so good.

able16

Yeah I'm glad she chose to watch it. The OPs in this show are fun and pleasant, especially paired with the songs. Telling someone to not watch it because of false-spoilers is a crime itself, denying the unknown experience and enjoyment.

able16

It's kind of insane how we got to rewatch a particular episode from the 4 here at this time with respect to the current episode that just aired three days ago. The level of detail, nothing is irrelevant. This isn't the first time the timing of your videos aligning with meta-level details. One, off the top of my head was when you started Demon Slayer and the pace you finished it -- lining up like a week or two from the English Infinity Castle release.

virJhin

Yeahhh. I thought the exact same as to firing those ladies in waiting from Lady Lishu's pavilion but the more I thought about it, there aren't just ladies in waiting on standby and replace them. The best that can be done was what Jinshi did and keep their terrible behavior in check. The twists and turns get even more crazy. Can't wait for more!

Fer Rodriguez

It really is such a treat to watch your reactions, because you are picking up and piecing together the clues in a really good way. These following weeks are going to be great! amazing episodes lie ahead, can't wait!

kaliwali

Oooooh okay that makes more sense

kaliwali

I keep forgetting Maomao travels between the Outer Court and Rear Palace unlike a lot of the servants who stay in one place!

kaliwali

I feel like these crazy coincidences happen so often with my release schedule! 😂 It's pretty crazy hoenstly

Kal

I love how this anime balances it's mysteries, they'll give you some crumbs here and there for larger multi episodes or seasons arc so you can form your theories and think about it, and other times they'll just drop a full cake that leads to things being resolved very quickly, the writers are experts at dopamine farming.
