QOTD: it was the original Terminator. Watched it at a sleepover birthday party. Not sure how old I was but it was likely between 2000-20002.

Denial is a hell of a drug

Moreso would be resentment. Consider the fact that people can "know" what you "know" and feel differently about it. Plain to see here we all feel the same way about you.

Jacob M Peden

Superbad. My parents took me to see it at the theater.

"This might be the last episode" wow

I think my first R movie was Die Hard but it could have been terminator, or Demolition man. My uncle used to have a huge library of VHS tapes so I would just watch whatever since I was normal left alone to my own devices but hey it was the 90's. I spent most of my time watching Arnold, Stallone, and Bruce action movies. I also remember my dad would let us watch Bevis and Butthead because he liked it but drew the line at south park while my mom wouldn't let us watch Simpsons. As said it was the 90's so me and my sister watched plenty of both when they weren't around lol. One of my favorite stories was years later probably when I was like 13 or so my Dad caught me watching Die hard (it was on TV at this point) and he was like "you probably shouldn't be watching this" and I was like "i've seen it before" and then he was like "oh then that's okay" Then watched the rest of it with me lol.

Super old video but I want to tell my first R rated movie. I'm pretty sure it was The Terminator. My dad wanted to see T2 since it was coming out in a few weeks and rented to first one because he felt I could handle it. I loved the movie and obviously loved T2 as well. I was 8. After that, the floodgates were open and my dad let me watch all the Schwarzenegger and Van Damme movies, but he might cover my eyes for a second if something particular gruesome happened which he thought might disturb me (the hospital security guard getting impaled through the eye was one such example from T2). A lot of times it was the music accompanying those moments which my dad knew would upset me, so blocking out the visual would soften the blow. Sex scenes with lengthy nudity was another thing he would divert my eyes for.
