We’re getting down, deep, and dirty into the Slowbro concept today.

So happy Brett still says "reglaar"

I feel like slobro is like kangaskhan or Maushold, 2 pokes in a symbiotic relationship. But you cant have that shelder form without the bro.

I wonder how far behind these videos are but you can two-hand the hammer already

I've always thought that Pokemon is the most ethically dubious video game franchise.

Worth mentioning, the Shellder on Slowking does still have eyes, they're just on the back of the head. So he's still out there. In Galarian Slowking, the Shellder actually wins out as the real consciousness and the Slowpoke is the vehicle so nature gives and takes for both.

Well all variants of Slowbro are psychic so I had always assumed it was a mentally conjoined symbiotic relationship the joined entity Slowbro "speaks" with that 90s scifi audio manipulation double voice like in Stargate/siderman etc. it is both the Slowpoke and the Shellder.

*Late Dune series spoilers* *last warning* Slowbro makes me think of Leto II from Dune, from what I've been hearing lately.

While we're at it, what happens to the Remoraid when Mantyke evolves into Mantine? Is it a part of the Mantine now, or just an independent companion who's lost the ability to battle, evolve, or be acknowledged in any way?

I just truly appreciate the amount of arrested development quotes you all have ready :)

most commercial figs have no wasps in them

I fully agree with Brett on the Slobro thing. Even if everything I am gets combined into something that gets to keep going, I'm still gone.

About the Slowbro thing, I kind of imagine it being like how angler fish merge when they mate. They literally become one creature, and while that sounds horrible to us, that is just life for them, part of the process of perpetuating their species. If they didn't do that, there wouldn't be any more Slowbro. Losing your sense of self doesn't really factor in to it, even though it understandably would for us, as people.

For the Slowbro situation, I interpret the situation as being like a Portuguese man o' war in that it's a kind of colonial organism that has one "body"; the Slowpoke and Shellder are basically in so close of a symbiotic relationship that they in practicality become one guy. And as another commenter pointed out, all members of the Slowpoke family (including regional forms) are psychic, so they probably have a form of mind meld going on and think as one unit. The real headache is thinking about the Deino, Zweilous, and Hydreigon line, which develops a second brain in the middle of its life cycle before returning to having one brain in its mature form. As far as evolution in general and how it works for the Pokémon mentally, the anime also shows us Ash's Bulbasaur and Dawn's Piplup, who both refuse to evolve for different reasons—Bulbasaur determines early on that he's not "ready," but maybe will be someday, while Piplup thinks turning into Prinplup will make him ugly and he just doesn't vibe with it.

Idk nigga killed me 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yo, watch what you say about slowbro, that’s my boy.

I just always figured that Slowbro is some kind of sex thing between the Slowpoke and Shellder.
