Ted getting an E-reading is the funniest shit ever, holy shit.

Never send a dick pic. Ever. No one wants that. Not even a spouse. Not even your urologist.

my field trips were weird. I grew up in the middle of no where, so we either drove like 2 hours to go somewhere fun or stop at a random building in town.

Lexi Harper

What if they ask nicely?

Joshua Levine

No! Unless they sign a consent form and an agreement to not publish/share/use in any way not agreed upon beforehand. Signed and notarized.

I think I did a field trip at least once a year as a kid. We went to Mark Twain Cave on several occasions, and visits to one of Mark Twain's historical houses that was in my little town. Hit Six Flags St. Louis a couple times, which looking back seems wild, as they just let my little 7th grade ass run off and ride whatever I wanted until the end of the day. Best field trip was probably to a place in St. Louis called City Museum. One of those artsy museums that's essentially a giant indoor playground. I've been back as an adult, it's still a ton of fun. I don't recall ever going to a farm on a field trip, but I grew up in a rural area so we had a 'drive your tractor to school' day each year. Also, not related to field trips, but that town built a walmart grocery store in 2009 or so that included a horse stable on one section of the parking lot. Not even a super wal-mart with like clothes and electronics, just a regular ass wal-mart selling normal grocery store things only.

I'm actually pretty familiar with Scientology and have firsthand experience with some of their recruitment methods! There are two prominent ones I know of -- one is cheap/free acting classes (they use their celebrity connections to get some legit-ish instructors) that lure in poor aspiring actors, then hook them into their self-help and management stuff. The other is their addiction programs, they have versions of AA and NA where the "higher power" you'd typically get with those programs ends up being Scientology. They explicitly and intentionally prey on the desperate, it's quite un-chill.

For field trips, we did the usual zoos and stuff. One year we did a day trip to France/Belgium to go to some WW1 battlefields (I live in UK). I do remember they also did some ~week long trips to Belgium and Switzerland, but I never went on those

I had a friend who got dick pic scammed. His whole family and a bunch of his friends ended up getting it sent to them from an account that looked like him. Crazy.

In South Carolina we visited the Barrier Islands and camped out in the swampy areas at like a "summer camp" looking place built on it. Lost my shoe in mud that went up to my knees. Also visited an estuary research center where, among other things, they were using blue horseshoe crab blood to help with medical stuff that my child brain did not comprehend

I had the exact same Yosemite trip as Alex! I remember not feeling well after eating the apple core, and I know exactly where the cave is that he talked about. Last time I was in Yosemite as an adult I went back through it (could barely fit).

QoTD: I wasn't really aware y'all switched seats until you pointed it out. Y'all sound the same.

Ted saying Long Lake Conservation Camp just sent me almost twenty years into the past, boy howdy. It's the HS graduation hypnotists all over again, but even further back and somehow more specific. The MN public education experience really is more homogenous than I ever considered.

For a few seconds there I thought he had said "concentration camp" and I was very confused.

Qotd: We went to pwll mawr (translation, big pit), which was an old coal mine/museum, we'd go down into mines, the best bit was turning off the head lamp and being in total darkness while some disembodied voice sang whistle while you work. Science museum and zoo's were normal and the big couple days trip was to a place called Llangrannog where it was lots of hiking, swimming, team building and the like.

I contribute to the Patreon so that Ted can watch Beard Bros.
