Loving the design! Not sure if i can make these with only having a few machines. Can definitely make a few trays of the little critters though.

SEREV3d

Thank you!! We hope you'll have fun printing them!!

SEREV3d

You can try to print the 8 day calendar version, that only takes about 4 hours of printing time in total! And they may not seem like it, but we designed the containers to be super thin, so they use quite a small amount of filament, and they print fairly fast because of that😊 And yeah, the little critters and all the fidgets, we made sure that they are even quicker prints, slowly we are managing to make things what costs less and less to make, but still being super fun! If we compare these little flexi designs to the majority out there, those sometimes still feel more "stiff", because their connectors are not developed too well, or there's not enough articulation. So we kept all those things in mind, and made sure that our flexis have became quite....flexi haha 😊

Layered_Legion

Oh okay all good too know. I might attempt one of the big one's. Im definitely planning on making the critters and the fidgets, they look fun!!! I definitely appreciate all the effort you and your team put into your work and it definitely shows... Im just limited by the number of printers I currently have otherwise I'd definitely be making the advent calendars. After all the Christmas chaos calms down could you consider making some booknooks or dragon/animal shelf sitters, thumb page holders. Booktok items are becoming very popular!

Practical Prints _ Erin

Omg so awesome! Ok I don't do tiny prints as every other booth does them! So I'm curious on what this would be priced around? I get everyone has their own formula to decide on prices (I add in the common things, wear on machine, filament, time etc) so I understand everyone could have a variety of prices! Just trying to figure out around what the retail should be around.

Kimberly Wilkins

What do you use for the eyes on the minis? I see the size guide, also how do you attach them please

SEREV3d

Thank you!!😊 If you fill your print plate with the minis, the cost of producing 1 mini each comes down to around $0.15, so i would say, if you sell them individually, you can definitely price them at $3 each (especially the keychain versions, since any basic flat keychain costs that much on a market), then you can also do little bundle prices, such as 2 for $5, or 4 for $9, like this your profit margin will still be huge, compared to the price and time it takes to produce the minis😊

SEREV3d

Of course, this goes only if you keep them this tiny size, by scaling them up bigger, the price should be bigger accordingly, since it costs more filament and time to produce. Usually it's a good idea to print 1-2 of them much bigger, and use glass eyes etc., to make them catch the interest and attention of customers, price it higher, so like this the minis with $2-3 in price will seem much cheaper and affordable in the customers' eyes!😊 And a last note, if you want to sell the full advent calendar, with having 24 different mini toys inside and the full setup, you can definitely set the price range to a minimum of $60-90. Again, it's just a comparison with Xmas toys being sold in shops and markets, and comparing with a big box of advent calendar chocolates, which recently have seen being sold for $35 in a local supermarket, I think offering 24 articulated toys with a full fun experience for the whole family, a price between $60-90 is not even too much😚 The cost of printing the full sized 24 days calendar container is around $8 in total, to fill it with 24 minis, it's around $5, so your total cost of having the full setup should be around $13, by selling the Advent calendar for minimum $60, you still get a nice chunk of profit😊 Plus, lots of people might just end up buying a handful of minis instead, so it's still a win-win.

SEREV3d

If you use glass cabochon eyes from amazon or temu (the XS sized minis fit 6mm eyes), a small drop of superglue (gorilla glue or any dollar store glue will do perfectly) keeps them in their socket permanently😊 If you use the printable eyes, in our experience, usually they snap in place and stay even without glue! But if you want to make sure that they stay forever in their sockets, a drop of superglue is recommended for the printed eyes as well.

Practical Prints _ Erin

Oh my thank you for the breakdown! My local market, it's harder to sell anything over $20. Cheap people lol But I do have my HUGE craft fair in 2 weeks. There, the higher the price the better they sell! More unique, the better they sell. Thank you SO much! Quite a bit of wiggle room in price for the whole setup! Again thank you!!!! It's going to the printer once one is free!

Sheryl Siegel

How large can u make the calendar so I can increase the size of the boxes

SEREV3d

Yes, it's always a good idea to have an inventory with a wide range of items, in size as well as in price! 😊 Even if on some markets expensive stuff won't sell, they are perfect as an eye-catching display. A perfect example are those spiritual-witchy stores, which sell crystals and all kinds of handcrafted items. Most of their best selling items are tiny earrings and other jewelry sold for $15, but in the middle of the store, there's always a huuuge amethyst geode priced at $10,000, no one in the world would buy that....but it's a perfect eye-catching display, also it makes a tiny amethyst earring look dirt-cheap with their $15 price😅

SEREV3d

Yes, you are right! Our Hollow Knight dice tower/booknook combo was very popular too, lots of people loved it a lot. I think it would be a great thing to build on that idea, and to try making booknooks which always come with a few optional printable mini characters or shelf buddies, habiting the booknook😁 We like to give purpose for each of our items, I see so many designers doing huge displays for their minis, or full on enclosures, which can look fun...but after a while they are really just dust-catchers without any purpose. So it might be a good plan for us, that anytime we release a display, they can be used either as a tealight holder, booknook, trinket dish, ooffice accessory, or anything else which could have a little extra purpose than just a "dust-catcher" 😅

Practical Prints _ Erin

I've been trying to decide on what I want to make as a huge display item! I don't want a dragon lol but I need something lol

Layered_Legion

I 💯 agree on the dust catcher part! Being able too follow up one idea with tea light, booknook. Trinket dish sounds fantastic and I believe customers will love this after being told hey it's not only this but can also be used for that! I always get I would've never thought of that, very clever I'm definitely gonna get one of these. Haha. Im loving the future outlook and looking forward too the booknooks and tea lights!

SEREV3d

The initial 100% scale is the smallest recommended size, since we designed it to have as thin walls as possible for faster printing, which means you can definitely scale it up bigger without any issues, I would say if you try it in between the range of 120-150% scale, then you could fit 6-7.5cm objects inside too😊

Sheryl Siegel

Perfect ty!! Going on the printer today!

Kenneth Marquardt

what is your general release plan for all the elements of the advent calendar? our christmas show is the saturday after thanksgiving. if your plan is to be releasing components after that then I know not to bother with printing the advent calendar component if the mini's are not all ready by that time. great looking project. thanks for you efforts

SEREV3d

Hi Kenneth! Currently the items in this release (4 minis and 4 fidgets) fills in the 8 day version of the Calendar, and we'll release a few additional minis and fidgets this weekend. For the full 24 day version of the Calendar, we sized the compartments to fit all our Mini sized designs (and keychain & straw buddy versions) from the past too, so to an addition of the 8 things what has been released now, here's a name list of our designs which fit perfectly inside the Advent Calendar: -Serev3D mini Dogs and Cats (the Kiss Cats as well) -Basically all the MINI versions of our long articulated designs: Derpy Tiger (Mini version) Longbubu (mini) Skellington Dragons (mini) Mushu Dragon (mini) Falkor (mini) Toothless Dragon (baby version) - All our Imp designs -Cloud Sheep -Hollow Knight Minis -Serev3D Spiders (the mini and medium size fits well) -Serev3D Little bats (keychain, straw buddy sizes fit) And probably a few more I forgot to mention. Oh, and one more thing: if you downscale our LONG articulated designs to 50%, for example our latest Derpy Tiger, it also fits perfectly in the Advent Calendar compartments. Here's a little video showing how it looks: https://imgur.com/a/3FsBA3h Plus, another thing i can recommend: if you run out of printing time before your Xmas market event, you can always shove a few little chocolates or candies into the Advent Calendar, or if you have any mini prints from your own library, if they are around the size 30-50mm, they would fit the calendar perfectly as well. We are not against from you using mini prints from other designers either, whatever fits in the calendar, feel free to put them as a present! 😊

SEREV3d

We'll keep making those long articulated character ideas, so at least it's not always a dragon, because by now the markets have 1 million version of them 😅 AND, we are very close with doing some final tests of our new modular connector system for our long designs, so sooner or later we will start putting this new addition with our long designs, which will give the chance to people to print parts individually, scale them up crazy big, like 200-300%, and put a huge articulated design together 😊 So even if there won't be 100s of people buying the huge designs, but it would definitely make them stop by and be like "wow, what is this huge monster"

Practical Prints _ Erin

Oh I'm SO ready for that!!! I love your dragons because they ARE different!

Amie

I hope I'm not missing it, but how do we custom the text? Or just remove it? Thanks!

SEREV3d

Hi Amie, I recorded a short video showing you how to customize the text, or to remove it to only print the star, here you can watch it on this link (i also updated the post with this video) : https://imgur.com/a/O7HYpGd Let me know if you managed to succeed!

Amie

Thanks! Your the best!

Kenneth Marquardt

in the reference picture 'Fidgets Pack 01-reference image01' it show another fidget object between the snowflake and the hat spinner looks like a piece of candy can you tell me where I can find that ?

SEREV3d

Oh, the Candy Twist fidget is coming on this weekend with the Fidgets Pack 02, containing 4 more fidgets with the Advent Calendar release! 😊

Sewfor54

On the Santa Hat Spiral I am having trouble with the tolerances of the two pieces no matter what layer height I use. They do not glide like your video. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Kris M

I'm having trouble with the little doors staying on, they knock out so easy. Anyone else having this issue? any fixes?

SEREV3d

Hi Kris! Normally, the little doors should hold on quite well, we tried to design it in a way that it keeps the little flexis in, and to be able to open it with simply pushing in on the side, so it's easy for children to open as well. Does the door stay on the container for you, as it does in this video? : https://imgur.com/a/XG3Ucxs If not, i would say the easiest thing you can try, is to print the door just a tad bigger, maybe upscale it by 1-2% (we left enough wiggle room in the design that it should still fit on the container), like that it might sit more snug for you. If you want, you can send some pictures or videos to us, so we can take a look and see how your print looks exactly, so we could give you some more specific tips. You can send them to our e-mail: contactserev3d@gmail.com

Sewfor54

This is my FOURTH time in several locations to get an answer on one of your designs. The Santa Hat Spiral is not printing well for me. I have printed at different layer heights and other adjustments, but to no avail will they glide and work like yours. Do you have any other suggestions? I print with a Bambu P1 series. All your other designs were great, except this one and wanted it in my showcase for this weekend.

SEREV3d

Hi, we answered your initial question on Discord yesterday, maybe you missed the notification about it, we made a few suggestions, also asked you a few questions to know which parts feel stuck on your print. Let me know if any of them helped to resolve your issue! You can also attach pictures or videos and send it to us by email contactserev3d@gmail.com Like this we can see specifically what the issue is, and give you a better advice!

MiQuelle P Meshishnek

I have been trying for days and hours to get the Text right on the stars. I'm using OrcaFlashforge but I tried in Orca Slicer and Bambu I do not know what I am doing wrong! I'm already late on getting these to my granddaughters.

SEREV3d

I recorded a short video showing how to customize the text, or to remove it to only print the star, here you can watch it on this link (i also updated the post with this video) : https://imgur.com/a/O7HYpGd Basically you have to click on the star, navigate to the "objects" panel on the left, click on the "text shape" at the list, and then on the tools tab on the top you click on the big T letter, to open up the Text Editor. And there you can write any text, or if you don't want any texts on the star you can also just delete it, or use the empty star file from the "STL files" folder. Let me know if you managed to succeed! If you need more advice or some extra help, you can also e-mail us at contactserev3d@gmail.com , and we can send you some more videos, or you can also attach pictures to see where you got stuck. The star is a fairly quick print, so hopefully you will still have time to place the star on top of the tree for your granddaughters 😊

Kris M

Hi, my doors fall out if I move the print at all or it get bumped. I'm guessing maybe my tolerances are off and will try to upscale the doors by 1 or 2% thank you for taking the time to answer.
