🚨 SONG REQUESTS FOR ARTISTS I'VE ALREADY BEEN INTRODUCED TO, GO HERE 👉K-POP SONGS DECEMBER 2025👈

🚨 This post is about finding the next GROUP or solo K-POP artist that I would do a deep dive on, including the backstory video and KILLING VOICE or Tiny Desk.

(I was chatting with community member Bennett on Discord and he said there was so much discourse around this topic that we needed a separate post for it. Happy to give it a try this month, provided it doesn't become too confusing for the community to share ideas. Give feedback on that please. )

This type of analysis typically lives at the $10 long form reaction tier as they are a much larger time investment, albeit a fun one!

COMMENTING GUIDELINES:

-BE SUPER RESPECTFUL OF EACH OTHER! 🙏 We have very passionate lovers of K-POP in our community, and I discourage engaging in "...no MY group is THE BEST..." type of communicating. That usually starts unnecessary drama, and I do not support that in my community. This is all about celebrating artists, and we can celebrate ALL of your favorites together.

-Leave a comment for the group/artist including any BACKSTORY videos, Killing Voice or Tiny Desk links.

-SUPER IMPORTANT! Put '❤️''s on others' comments! There are typically so many recommendations that there's no way I will get to all of them. That's why it's important for the community to come together and 'uptick' ideas that are wanted by the collective. (PRO TIP: 😀 Reach out to each other on Discord to get help with hearts on your comment if you find fellow fans of your favorite artists. PATREON doesn't allow you all to reach out to each other.)

-I will give you a shoutout in the intro of the analysis if you are the one whose comment I chose. So, if it looks like your recommendation is likely to be picked, feel free add on to the comment and say a few words about the group that I will read on your behalf. 🚨 If you don't want a shoutout just let me know in your comment too! 🙏

I'm having a blast, checking out K-pop with you all! So so so much more to come.

Cheers,

Tim

Bennett

ATEEZ Even though they’re not my personal priority, I do want to put them as an option because you haven’t actually been introduced to them (& they have a Killing Voice).

Bennett

I would make a backstory for this one as long as I have fair warning.

Annieaconda

Mirror Mirror by Milli and F. Hero feat Changbin (StrayKids) would be a fun quick take. they are Thai hip hop artists. I didn’t see a spot to put them yet! But it is an experimental hip-hop/trap track driven by heavy 808s, glitchy electronic layers, distorted bass, and aggressive, rapid-fire flows. https://youtu.be/FZlBKl-spfY?si=TwRYtKmJU-r2X20Q

Metalstryke

I'd like to suggest Dreamcatcher again bc we did not get to them last month. Here is a guide: https://youtu.be/lyBMohKQ9V4?si=rSwkR3EnCt8cTTML But it's 30min long, didn't find a shorter one. Or this road to fame vid, that's beautifully done and as some more on their background: https://youtu.be/2u_ZG5Vf_3Q?si=pTa5PfqNLec4JJOT I would like to suggest their latest comeback Justice. MV: https://youtu.be/Wkn6s8RuUDg?si=yUym5C0b9XjOCzqz MDR live with a band: https://youtu.be/ZeXZ_ixi58I?si=G2jj-Nr5EnUDgpki Dance ear (smth like that dance practice vid of nmixx, where they sing while practicing): https://youtu.be/mmDSxJxyxTw?si=DqzH4qR7f_5Jn2qj Unfortunately they still weren't on killing voice yet, or tiny desk. As the group is nearly 9y old and come from a small company, I don't know if we'll get them there ever, but I kinda have some hope, that in 2027 at their 10y anniversary, that we'll get a killing voice. Little sidefact bc someone also mentioned ateez in other comments. Ateez and Dreamcatcher had the same producers for most of their careers. Although later one DC started to work with some others more and ateez also got more involved with their own producing. The producers are from edenary a collective of producers. For DC it was namely Leez and Ollounder.

It’s not a Killing Voice, because unfortunately they don’t have one, but here’s a performance by The Rose where they go through songs on their most recent album WRLD. Because it may be confusing, The Rose is in fact a Korean Rock band. Soft not hard rock. They just have a lot of discography in English because one of their members was raised in Southern California and they want to be able to reach a more international audience. Since more people are going to understand English over Korean, that’s what they’ve been writing most of their recent music in. https://youtu.be/6ufDVWeunA0?si=BA9iI3GH-6Hiv2BV

Tim has already done a reaction to TXT, so feel free to choose a song and put it under the other post as well

Abby

Oh I love that one! One of the most impressive Changbin Raps!🫶🏻

Kay

ENHYPEN please !!

Kay

ENHYPEN Killing Voice please! https://youtu.be/6jlQkIgS40g?si=BZVnABwsWzY_E3KQ enhypen vocals are genuinely incredible, and they don’t follow the usual K-pop setup with a rap line versus vocal line. hey’re one of the biggest 4th-gen boy groups right now, and they even perfomred at Coachella this year, a performance that earned them tons of praise for their live vocals. they also have a whole conceptual world which is on another level, with storylines that run through their lyrics, music, performances, and even their short-film-style trailers -- i wont spoil the lore lets see if you can recoginesed yourself

Derwent

The Red Velvet or Mamamoo Killing Voices are both excellent!

Boop

I would love to see AKMU! They have a killing voice video but I would love to see a deep dive into any of their music. They are a brother and sister duo that won a singing competition in 2012 with their original music. Early in their career, they were known more for their fun, whimsical lyrics and style. Now, they've matured their sound to tackle some darker concepts. The brother, Chan-hyuk, still writes and produces all of their music.

Abby

Since Tim will probably check out the G-Dragon/Wing performance it could be fun to go a little back in time and do some Big Bang. They dont have a killing voice but I found this performace and thought might be good. https://youtu.be/5b6Lff65yCU?si=ahFNmFjMGTiMpl75 Im no expert so please feel free to share when you think there is something better or if we should just do MVs🤷🏻‍♀️

Bennett

I put WOODZ on the other post since he’s a soloist & doesn’t need a “deep dive”! :)

Bennett

He hasn’t done a deep dive. A reaction to TXT is one of the reasons this particular post was created.

Bennett

Should this be on the other post? This one is for deep dives/killing voices.

Maria

I guess. I just understood the other one is for the ones he's already reacted to, that's why I put him here.

I am just going to silently sneak in an oldie group just out of curiosity— TVXQ! Killing Voice. https://youtu.be/i7GYq_JazwQ?si=bgMI_VwDLpjLrdzp Debuted in 2003 as five and split in 2009 as a duo. They acquired handful of different genres over the years and it would be nice to witness Tim observe two veteran idols’ evolution as singers as duos, their musicality and critics.

Hi there! I’d like to recommend Seventeen’s Killing Voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ca0xEJH9wY&list=RD8ca0xEJH9wY If you want to know a bit more about the group’s background, I think this video is a good introduction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=griy5UcePPU There’s a spoiler of the Killing Voice between 4:14 and 7:30 if you want to skip it to keep the song list a surprise. (there is 3 really really good videos that follow this one to introduce the members but each of them is 40min long) So if you’d like a more detailed introduction to the members (there are 13 of them!), this one is pretty good too, even if it includes a bit of info you might not really need. and it's not thqt long https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkegkRY7Ogc

Zaphne

Thank you for recommending Mamamoo!

Ashley

I really want Tim to watch Hwasa’s Blue Dragon Awards performance but I figure he should be introduced to the group first!

Zaphne

I have a group that is a new group to me, but hopefully others have heard of them too. They are "Forestella," a quartet that is at least in part, classically trained. They went on a lot of "Immortal Songs" competitions where - and someone can correct me please if I am misstating facts - groups take "iconic" songs and cover them with their own style/embellishment/flair etc. Forestella is well-known for winning these competitions (based on my knowledge). They are a lesser known group, but their cover of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" friggin' floors me every time I play it. I have it linked, but they also have their own music as well. Forestella's cover: Bad Romance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKg7JdtPPaA
