Thank you for all the great content Tim! Love hearing your thoughts on the show and it's production. I'm looking forward to you watching Episode 6... My favorite one, some amazing songs to react to! Keep that in mind.

Hazbin guarantee (trust us) was the first somd to be release from season 2 and I loved it immediately, but I remember some people who didn't like it. Impossible to understand to me, it's great

You're totally right about the music being more advanced and interesting this season. I think it's very much a case of learning as you're going. The songwriters, Sam Haft and Andrew Underberg, are in their thirties, and with ever song they write for this show they learn new things, and they also get to know the actors they're writing the songs for which means they're much more aware of what they can and can't do, which also makes the songs more fun and interesting, imo. There are also more songs than in season 1. Basically, there are 5 songs for every two episodes almost this whole season, so half the episodes have a whopping 3 songs each in them. The season 1 soundtrack has 16 tracks, the season 2 soundtrack has 20, and some of them are quite long too with more big ensemble and group numbers than season 1 had. They haven't yet published a score for this season, but there is an official song book for season 1 with piano scores, all the voice parts (including harmonies) and guitar chords as well. It's available from the official Hazbin store online, I just got mine in the mail last week. Very much hoping they do the same for season 2 but I'm guessing it'll take a little longer to put together just from the sheer number of musical numbers they have to adapt. I love how invested you've gotten in this show and in the music, it's so fun to see! Can't wait for episode 2!! Is it Saturday yet?

Vaggie mentioned in this episode that she wanted to change her name because Adam gave it to her and it has a demeaning meaning behind it. So, no hidden lore somewhere. You just missed it. xD

So Lucifer suffers from severe depression in Season 1, where he uses ducks as his big distraction from it, but he also has ADHD, which causes him to hyperfixate on the making of the rubber ducks. So the ducks all are apart of his distraction to himself.

Also: The round red cheeks he and Charlie share point back to all of Hell being one big circus, Lucifer is the Ringmaster, and Charlie would be one of the clowns

The voice change you mentioned for Velvets voice actor I think is similar case for Stephanie who voices Vaggie her singing voice in Encanto is VERY different than in Hazbin

SO glad you watched the recap! And yeah, the music does feel like it leveled up! Fun notes and Lore that you might have missed or overlooked in this episode, Alastor is surly and grumpy, and the first we see of him in the episode is focused on his broken and badly mended staff. He has not recovered from Adam nearly killing him last season. Lucifer is less depressed now that he has family back in his life, but still shows signs of his severe depression. He also has very strong ADHD. That's where the ducks are coming from, it's his hyperfocus. Keep an eye on background shots IN the Pentagram City, you'll notice RESIST posters in the background with Lilith on them, she was leading an uprising back before she disappeared, 7-8 years ago. (Also, Alastor was gone for 7 years before reappearing... just make a note that those times line up.) Other neat thing to note, Amir Talai (Alastor's voice) voices Tom Trench. (You already knew that Brendan Rogers (Blitzø) voices Katie Killjoy.) I gotta spend more time on the Discord!

Rinnzu Rosendale

I like the Oompa Oompa music intro. Very on theme! Ragtime would also fit.

This. Season 1 in the Heaven episode Adam mentioned he named Vaggie "after the best thing ever" so... the lady parts... And she doesn't want to be called that (who would...) 😅

"Girl, the worst he can say is no." Vox: "No. Ew."

I am so excited to see your reactions to the season. In some ways I definitely think it has gotten better since season 1, the songs are amazing and you're right, more complicated. I did feel that the pacing was a little inconsistent in this season though. The first 2 episodes are phenomenal, but then episodes 3 and 4 seemed a little slower, almost filler in nature. And then it picks back up again at the end of the season. But as a whole still an amazing season

Interesting! (<--genuine) I had a different experience. While I liked episode one and two, I thought they felt rather slow, as if they were all very heavy exposition (reasonable for the start of the story arc), but that for a tight timeline with only 8 episodes having the first two take place at the same time chronologically felt like a potential misuse of time. I agree that episode 3 felt a bit fillery, but episode 4 was where the season really picked up with me and locked my attention in (same thing happened with season 1). Episode 4 screamed to me the start of the rising action and of intrigue and dangling the lure of all the plot threads that would converge at the climax of the season. Granted, it was a bit of the "we need to get these pieces into position for the rest of the story to work", but I thought it was handled pretty well all things considered. Overall I agree though; I think season 2 was a vast improvement on season 1 (which I loved). While not perfect and still suffering from the 8 episodes restriction, pacing felt much tighter. (Sorry if this isn't well explained or coherent, I'm absolutely exhausted; I've been up for 19 hours and change on only 4.5 hours of sleep)

Danny Motta has reacted to Hazbin, and it's so fun because he replaces most of the songs with him singing covers of them.

First draft, but Challenge Accepted! No idea how to post musical notation, so I've just sketched out a melody with the oompah turned to 11. The second and third lines begin on the upbeat, and the third is double time. Haven't got the chorus down yet, so... improvise! :P "Sinful Saturday" Sundays are for souls that go to heaven E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 E4 D4 C4 B4 D4 Those hypocrites can really get you down G3 F4 F4 F4 F4 F4 F4 E4 D4 E4 Exterminations build frustrations deaf to our recriminations C4 A5 A5 F4 F4 G4 G4 E4 E4 F4 F4 D4 D4 E4 E4 C4 C4 Make a bloody mess out of our town C4 C4 C4 C4 C4 D4 E4 C4 G4 Charlie has a plan to save the sinners She's looking for someone to heed the call Sir Pentious just might be redemptious Heaven's like to be contentious Won't accept salvation's for us all Chorus: Heaven's furies breaking down our defense Was independence always such a pretense Somehow we know we'll have to find a way To have ourselves a sinful Saturday

Tim I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re like a puppy on a walk when you get distracted - except instead of smells it’s sounds that get you excited by. I personally think it’s adorable haha.
