That was an awesome first impression for sure! What should we check out next from her?

Baelz is multilingual, her originals are normally in japanese or english so it was amazing to see her singing in korean for this song. She also debuted in 2021 as part of the 2nd english gen. Current holoen has 4 gens

Bossjoe

yeah this is her first song in a couple years and I think how big Demon Hunters got is what pushed her to finally use her native language in a song.

Bossjoe

Yeah she is the avatar of chaos in the universe. Which is really evident in her songs. They are all wild and crazy. They also often have some theme of gambling, dice rolling cause what represents the chaos and randomness of the universe better then gambling? She's Korean/Australian who also speaks Japanese so is often a go between for those who don't speak Japanese. Even if she does have a funny accent and likes vegemite we still like her! She's a cool single bro! Glad you liked the video, this was a fun one honestly. Other songs I would recommend are Psycho and Play Dice.

oh forgot to mention a big thing with this video in the community is Bae's new 3d model she has for it. She Choreo'd and performed all the dance for this video. When she was showing off the 3d model in a live stream and was next to other talents with their 3d models you could clearly see this new model was rigged differently. It tracked her movements much better then the others older models. You can even see it if you go into the shorts, she did a much of shorts with other members performing part of the dance routine with them. You can clearly see her models movements compared to others so clearly there is some new techniques involved being tested for future models.

One thing to remember is that just because someone is in the English, Indonesian, or Japanese branch. Doesn’t mean their song will be in their specific language. A good bit of the en branch girls sing the Japanese songs and a lot of the Indonesian girls sing in English, Japanese and Indonesian. They do it for different reasons. Some like how the songs in different languages sound more for the lyrics, but some are multilingual in all the branches.

Andrew

Bae definitely has a strong Australian accent. I enjoy her a lot and she has some crazy funny clips. She is incredibly talented at dancing and singing.

Hololive girls, regularly collab with non hololive guys and girls while playing games. Not as much for music, but it does happen multiple times a year for songs. Heck, Ollie did a collab yesterday with Michi and AmeLee and they’re not apart of Hololive.

TheCreature

one song you definitly have to check out is her cover of "Blooming in the Mud" with Towa! Absolutely breathtaking performance by both of them, so powerful and emotional another fun original of her would be RxRxR or Psycho edit: A Million Miles Away is another cover of hers, which shows a competely different side to her again. the range she has in this one in particular is insane, she goes SOOO high (although its a bit longer with over 8 minutes)

Fake Name

She's Australian but from a chinese family. And she ended up making a K-pop song this time.

Bossjoe

I thought she was Korean cause she was excited to finally put it into a song

Andrew

I never realized she was part Korean. I was told before she was Chinese and Australian and just went with that since I heard that lol, but that makes more sense that she’s Korean

Seth B.

I second TheCreature's recommendations of "Blooming in the Mud" and "A Million Miles Away". One thing I thought was really neat about this MV was that the vast majority (excluding the parkour bits) were made using her motion capture data. The live dance for this was great as well.

waffling

It's worth noting that Bae is one of the most skilled dancers in Hololive English, if not Hololive generally. She regularly choreographs her own stuff and her stage presence is really really strong. She even once did a segment at a concert which was just a dance performance, no vocals, (a first for hololive, pretty much unheard of) and it was captivating! When you watch her dance you can just feel how confident and in control she is, and it's cool to see how that comes across, even through the motion capture. A few notes about the generations -- Hololive English currently has 4 generations: -Myth (2020 debut with a theme of mythological creatures/beings) ~IRyS/Project Hope (2021 solo debut of IRyS, branded as a "vsinger") -Council (2021 debut with a theme of powerful deities [Bae is in this group as the god of Chaos]. Council merged with IRyS and rebranded as "Promise" in 2024) -Advent (2023 debut with the theme of escaped convicts [you got some of this lore with Nerissa escaping from "the cell" in Oyome-holic]) -Justice (2024 debut with the theme of a vigilante police force who have the goal of recapturing Advent.) Incidentally, with Advent being all about freedom/rebellion and Justice being about subordination, the criminals come across as more of the 'good guys' than the Justice team does (in kayfabe at least, of course they are all friends in real life) I know that's kind of a wall of text but that's the gist at least!

Nate

She's been working to learn Korean over the last few years, and had done a few language learning streams to show her studying. Seeing the Korean fans join in to help her learn has been really fun!

Nate

Just wanted to say how much I love your Hololive reactions! I need to drop some recommendations into your vtuber chat. Please keep them coming!

Culade

One of her best friends, Miori Celesta, is Korean. Plus she's a big K-pop fan. She dedicated a members stream just to fan-girling over K-pop bands lol

Culade

This one is my Kami-oshi. The Aussie RAT who's very hard working and extremely talented at dancing and singing. She speaks English and fluent Japanese interchangeably. She's part of the 2nd EN gen Promise, which debuted in 2021 and used to be known as Council. She's not really chaotic in her streams, typically chill unless playing something difficult like Minesweeper lol. She has another song in a similar vain as this called PSYCHO that might be worth a watch.

EseWey

Her million miles away cover

DeLaYeD

Since I don't see anyone else commenting it. 0:45 EN gens go Myth (2020), IRyS (July, 2021), Council(Aug, 2021), Advent (2023), Justice (2024). Promise is just the combination of IRyS and the remaining members of Council.

that scream at the 14:12 mark you was saying was almost into auto land. She pulled a muscle in her arm as she was doing the scream. So it was a real scream mix'ed into it. She talked about it on the song review stream she had after its release.
