Okay, I do like this finale. It’s cool, one of my favorite episodes of the show (that isn’t a mando episode). Buuuuut… •What’s this show called again? -The Book of BOBA FETT •But he’s not gonna be in several of the episodes? -No •So the whole main storyline of the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, trying to get this baby yoda to a jedi, that’s just undone in two episodes of a _different_ show? -Yes ^So are we gonna include these admittedly really good episodes and the relevant footage from the finale at the start of Mando S3? >Only a little in the Previously on… ^Won’t that confuse people who go right to S3 and don’t watch Book of Boba? >Why would anyone do that? ^Maybe because they don’t expect significant story progression and lore for one show to take place in another show? And they might also skip the recap if they just watched/rewatched S2 or feel they remember it well enough >Well this will teach them not to do that -Boba’s gonna ride his rancor, which he learned to do _off screen_ -So then Boba’s gonna face off with Cad Bane! •Who? -The big bad guy of the show we’re introducing at the end of the penultimate episode. •Shouldn’t we introduce him earlier to build up the rivalry and final fight? -Nah, Clone Wars fans will know it’s a big deal. •What about everyone else? -No. •Shouldn’t we-? -We don’t have time! •But we’re dedicating two episodes to Mando and Grogu? -Yes. That’s from me Even Temuera Morrison, Boba himself, expressed disappointment about this “Well that Mando guy stole a few chapters of my book,” he said. “It was painful watching him turn up with some black new lethal sword. And the way he turned up in my Book of Boba, he just destroyed everybody.” He is eager to come back though, so is Ming Na as Fennec

So the bikers were innocent of the slaughter. I mean they were still dicks who stole and raided, they maybe should’ve still been taken out, but it is a little messed up And so Grogu has chosen his path as a mandalorian You’re right! Cad Bane does look more evil in live action! The behind the scenes special revealed Cad Bane was practical. They were able to make a mask so tight it’s the actor actual lip movements. Not much else though, not sharing all the secrets Not the gamorreans! I liked them! Okay the majordomo is funny. His facial change when he’s delivering the message 😂 Boba and Din Djarin side by side baby! I forgot Krrsantan got shot! He really is a tank Droideka’s are enough of a problem, now we got giant ones! Scorpenek droids Yup in clone wars they showed how you needed droid poppers (emp grenades) to slowly roll through the shield. Though I’m not sure how effective either regular or emp grenades would be against droids of this size, unless it was a bunch at a time. And the uneven sand might also prove an issue for rolling. And it seems like even personally going through slowly isn’t an option since Krrsantan tried to put his hand in and it wasn’t immediate, plus the rancor, probably too strong a shield •Rebels also showed it’s possible to overwhelm a shield with enough power and cause it to shut down. Unfortunatey only the rancor had enough strength just to partly weaken it I forgot they finally gave the weequay bartender a name instead of just calling him by his species. Taanti Boba Fett riding a rancor!!! We finally get to see in live action how they can really move in open space Boba and Bane face each other again! For the first time 🤣 Because their first face off was from an arc that was never finished •I like the detail that Bane has a plate on his head from where Boba shot him Cad Bane is finally dead. Or is he?! A lot of people believe the blinking light on his torso could mean he’s still alive The show established rancors bond with the first human they see. They have Boba be this rancor’s first human. Boba got his helmet pulled off fighting Bane. You might think he could potentially come in with his face exposed so the rancor can calm down. But no, we’ve got a force user for a bit so might as well use him instead Admittedly Grogu with the rancor is very cute I interpreted “we’re not suited for this” as being in reference to mingling with the populace, not that he’s rethinking being in charge The credit music just had beat vocalisations for the first 6 episodes, like a “hey!”. For 7 they were replaced with “Fett! Bo-ba Fett!” Cobb Vanth is still alive! And he’s getting modded A ranking of the shows? Sure if you wanna Even I have to admit this show overall isn’t the greatest. I was more excited to revisit the Mando S2 Boba episode than this whole show. But it’s still a good watch, not bad! I really think it could’ve been stronger if two episodes hadn’t been dedicated to the story of Mando. Re: Luke giving Grogu a choice, jedi and attachment etc, I refer back to the blog post I linked in the last reaction. I assume you might’ve already watched this episode before that I don’t think we have any idea if Kanan knew Hera was pregnant. He might’ve sensed it but there was no explicit indication Onto to Mando S3

Hahaha you were really drifting off there at the end during the fight scenes, hope you had a good rest afterwards :D Can't blame you, that scene and the episode were a mixed bag. I wish they kept the tone of episode 6 throughout the whole series! I feel like this finale was a mix of episode's 3 silly chase scene with the seriousness of episode 6. I can't shake off the feeling that they killed Cad Bane there just to give the finale more meaning or to make it seem like something big happened. But it just didn't work, it felt more like a waste of a good character than the proper ending of one. Overall the series is not cohesive. I liked the series enough to not talk bad about it and enjoy it for what it is, but not enough to re-watch it on my own if that makes sense. I just can't wait for you to get to the Ahsoka series! Also, the Tales of the Underworld series fits tone-wise to what we are currently watching, just saying. Anyway, yes, do make the ranking of the series! It would be interesting to watch how it ranks now, and how it will change in the future once you have all the info after having watched the remaining series. Looking forward to watching the last season of Mandalorian :)

Yeah most people wouldn’t think to watch a different show between season 2 and 3 of a series so it is kind of a dick move

It caught me so off guard I had to stop for a minute 😭 I’ve not had a decent sleep in weeks so I think it just hit me when I was relaxed. And yeah Cad Bane deserved a lot better, it felt a bit forced to me instead of being a big think for Bobas character

There are theories about Cad Bane surviving, because a red light was beeping like a beacon on his suit, so he probably had his droid picking him back.

And the only official explanation I’ve ever heard for it was basically “Well we had to because the audience was gonna wanna know what Mando and Grogu have been up to”

I hope Cad Bane doesn't survive though, Star Wars is going too far with killing characters and then being like "woops, turns out they survived :)". Characters like Maul make sense because of the dark side and such and the witches reviving the undead, but when everyone survives everything it is just bland imo.

This episode and the show as a whole have ups and downs to it where the highs are high and the lows are just confusing and odd choices haha. I thought killing Cad Bane was crazy because they made it seem like it was him and Boba's final duel after a long history together. But the issue with that is we barely see Boba and Cad together in any published Star Wars media! Of course, there's the unfinished clone wars arc but it's not like most Star Wars fans are aware that exists. So basically I blame Disney for cancelling clone wars as to why that final fight didn't hit how it should have :D I think this show gets hated on way too much because it has some really fantastic moments but as whole it's probably a generous 7/10 for me. Would love to see your rankings for each show! You still have some great shows ahead both live action and animated!
