THE KARATE KID (1984) - MOVIE REACTION - First Time Watching

The Karate Kid is a 1984 American martial arts drama film directed by John G. Avildsen and written by Robert Mark Kamen. It is the first film in The Karate Kid franchise. The film stars Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita, Elisabeth Shue, and William Zabka. The story follows Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), an Italian-American teenager from New Jersey who moves with his widowed mother to the Reseda neighborhood of Los Angeles. There, LaRusso encounters harassment from bullies, one of whom is Johnny Lawrence (Zabka), the ex-boyfriend of LaRusso's love interest, Ali Mills (Shue). LaRusso is taught karate by a handyman and war veteran named Mr. Miyagi (Morita) to help LaRusso defend himself and compete in a karate tournament against his bullies. Ask you anything? Ok. 1. In what ways was the movie’s All Valley Karate Tournament similar and/or different than the Taekwondo competition in which you participated as a kid? 2. If you ever have an opportunity to play a leading role in a movie like this one, is that the kind of work that you would enjoy? 3. Did you ever see Ralph Macchio in the movie My Cousin Vinny? ✌️😁✌️

Just a comment first. My favorite part of this movie is when Mr. Miagga is always telling him to look in the eye when he bows and when he smacks him the one time. Such a great dynamic between the 2 of them.

Coby, the Karate Kid series is truly classic ... and the movies have aged well (even part 3). Cobra Kai is a spin off series, and I am not going to say much to avoid spoilers, but it is a fun and wild ride. Season 3 was even nominated for an Emmy for best series. There is a reason they came back and made Karate Kid Legends. Watch all four movies and then watch the Cobra Kai series, you won't regret it. And what's even more fun, is knowing that some of the female characters in this series went on to win an Oscar for best actress later on in their careers.

Part 2 is a really good movie. My brother likes a tiny bit more than the first one.

If you’re planning to watch Cobra Kai I’d say it’s best to watch Prt 2&3 first . Another Ralph Macchio film that’s worth a watch is Crossroads Looking forward to more reactions

Oh no! It looks like YouTube muted your reaction video at the WORST possible point in the movie to be muted! 😰

I am all in for Cobra Kai! It's a fun watch. Definitely watch Karate Kid 2 & 3 first.
