Had I known Dalton’s rules going in, I could have been more ready to “expect the unexpected”, since I basically went in expecting another “Dirty Dancing” haha! What a fun ride though, so much action and so much great music! Reaction highlights to be released on YouTube this Friday July 11th! 🖤

Great movie! Original is so much better than the remake!

Love "Road House" and crushed hard on Kelly Lynch when this came out. I am also a huge fan of Jeff Healey (RIP) and The Jeff Healey Band so the sound track was kicking and it was nice that they gave Jeff and the boys parts. I have also always liked Patrick (another RIP), ever since I first saw him in "The Outsiders". Actually, if you haven't seen that one I would highly recommend it; it is a Coppola film with a TON of Star when they were still fresh faced actors. That is the thing about 80's movies, they very much represented the decade... not overly complicated, it was all about having a good time.

I have enjoyed this movie, been a while since I last seen it, never liked the ending, but had a good time with it. Also loved the music and seeing The Jeff Healey band in this movie, big fan of his> I get a bit sad, since Jeff Healey and Patrick Swayze both passed away at such young ages

I like to think of myself as a film connoisseur and really feel like I know good films for all the right reasons. "Road House" for me with always be my movie oxymoron! It has one of the worst scripts written, the acting by everyone is so over the top and bad, for the most part the 80s was a truly awesome decade but everything bad about the 80s is in this movie BUT every time it is on I watch it, when I am in one of my moods and can't seem to find something to watch, I put this movie on! I never get tired of watching it! It is so fun to watch and I can quote every cheesy line! For those that don't know, there are three Elvis Presley Easter Eggs in this movie 1) Red West who plays Red Webster the auto parts store owner was one of Elvis best friends from high school on, was one of his closet confidants, and a member of the "Memphis Mafia". He also had bit parts in sixteen of Elvis thirty-one movies. In 1976 he was fired by Elvis Dad, Vernon along with his cousin Sonny West, and bodyguard David Hebler over incidents involving mistreatment of fans and a year later all three men were involved in putting out a tell all book about Elvis titled, "Elvis: What Happened?" The book was released in the US two weeks before Elvis died. 2) The scene where the auto parts store is blown up and everybody runs outside to check on Red, then they all come back into the Double Deuce with Brad Wesley and his crew waiting. Brad Wesley then shouts out to Cody (played by the awesome Jeff Healey) "Elvis, play something with balls"! 3) Marshall R. Teague who plays Jimmy, Brad Wesley's main body guard, had learned martial arts from a very early age and continued through out his military career. He took up acting during his time as an undercover policeman working for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department in Memphis, Tenn. (Elvis hometown). In 1978 he moved to LA to start his acting career and played in quite a few small tv roles with one of those roles coming in 1988 for a TV mini series adapted from Priscilla Presley book that shared the same name as the series titled "Elvis and Me". In the series he plays a character named Rick Colton which is actually the fictional name for a man named Mike Stone. Mike Stone was a martial arts champion in the late 60s and competed at a meet that Elvis and Priscilla attended. Stone eventually became Priscilla's martial arts instructor and the relationship became an affair which contributed to the split between Elvis and Priscilla. One actor that almost everybody misses in "Road House" is the bartender Ernie Bass who is played by one of Hollywoods greatest character actors, Keith David Williams! He has played in over 400 roles in films, TV, stage roles, and interactive media with my favorites being his role as Childs in John Carpenter's 1982 horror classic "The Thing" and the hilarious part as Mary's Dad Charlie in The Farrelly Brothers comedy classic with Ben Stiller in "There's Something About Mary"!!!!

Some more Patrick Swayze movies that you might like if you haven't already seen them: Point Break (1991), Ghost (1990), Next of Kin (1989), and The Outsiders (1983).

Hey Coby, I unashamedly love this movie. It’s like the ultimate guilty pleasure. So I’m pleased that you liked it, I think what you said at the end about using the term “cheesiness” with love was very cool. I always found these kind’s of movies to be a lot of fun. Just like you, I love that era. 70s, 80’s 90’s. The cars, the music, everything.

I remember an interview with Bill Murray (who's a friend of Kelly and her husband) - he said every time he sees this on tv, he calls Kelly's husband and leaves a message telling him he's watching Patrick Swayze doing nasty things to his wife against a stone wall. Ya gotta love Bill Murray!!! And 80's movies!

Coby, if you think that the film climax is crazy, you should read about the story of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_McElroy, which some people say inspired Road House, especially since it also took place in Missouri, earlier in the 80s.

I love Roadhouse. You can't go wrong with Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliot. Simple story with some great actors. I grew up with this movie, another fav of mine!
