Hi hi! So I made a poll over on YouTube about where we go next with Superman… would love to get your thoughts! Do I continue with the originals and go to 3? Jump straight to Superman Returns that was filmed in my hometown of Sydney? Right to Man of Steel? A Supergirl curveball? Or just move on completely??? Thank you in advance for the help devising! After all, it’s for you anyway so I’d rather go with what you all wish to see! :) Hit the link above and vote! 🖤

Poll from The Coby Show

Hi hi! Thank you so much to everyone that's been watching my Superman and Superman II reactions - I hope you've been enjoying them, as I had an absolute blas...

Supe3 is watchable unfortunately it was 4 that tanked the franchise it's that bad, still there's Christopher Reeve in other films.....

I posted on the supe 2 chat..in the DC timeline it's supposed to be superman returns 2006..and it's a good movie..I wasn't a fan of the original No3 because it tries to incorporate comedy with Richard Pryor with hi tech computer geeky story...compared to 1 and 2 it's terrible...and No 4...I'd sooner rip out my own nail beds than watch that.😂 Then I'd just forward to Man of Steel...Supergirl is a hard no for me..it was just a cash grab..poor script and just nowhere near as good..But let's see what everyone else thinks.🌹

Man of Steel is the only other one I care about.

Not the biggest fan of Superman 3. It has a few iconic moments but it's a pretty bad movie overall. Superman Returns is worth watching in my opinion. It's meant to be a homage sequel to the Christopher Reeves movies and takes place after Superman 2 ignoring all the other sequels. And of course Man of Steel is an absolute must watch so we can hear your thoughts on Zack Snyder's version.

I say keep going with the originals three and four. Then Superman returns. Then man of steel. Three has its moments. Four is terrible but it’s one of those so bad It’s good?. Superman returns was just boring. Man of steel has an awful third act. Also, although Henry Cavill has a great look, he was very miss characterized as Superman.

I say give Superman III a chance., I know somethings in it you will like. and I would like to see if I guess right lol

Doug Fisher

I would go "SM3", "Superman Returns" if you want (I am not a fan personally), then "Man of Steel". "Man of Steel" has issues but both Russell Crowe and Henry Cavill were excellent (Henry is the 2nd Best Kal-El/Clark in the movies... nobody beats Christopher).

Bob Nicholas

Well if you go with Superman returns, I guess just skip Superman 3 & 4, would make no point to watch them. Or do Superman 3, then Superman returns. Not sure you need to see Man of Steel unless you are going to watch some DCEU?

Toc

Since there's no place to vote for "Move On Completely", I'll just vote it here: Move On Completely! 😂

Why should you be spared from the disappointment that we had to endure? ; ) Keep going with the originals three and four. Then Superman returns......they tried, and Brandon is about as close to Chris as they could find. Kate works well in the Lois role. Then Man of Steel. As good as Henry looks in the suit, he just does not quite feel right as Superman and even less right as Clark. Also, Amy Adams does not work at all, for me, as Lois. Then "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" Ultimate Edition (it's OK I guess) and finally "Zack Snyder's Justice League" (this is a fairly epic film).

The actress in "Supergirl" later play's Supergirl's adoptive human mother in the WB TV series "Supergirl", with Dean Cain (of "Lois & Clark") as her adoptive human father. The "Supergirl" series is part of the WB shared setting "Arrowverse" which includes "Arrow", "Flash", the half season "Constantine", and "Legends of Tomorrow". Brandon Routh plays Ray Palmer (The Atom) in "Arrow" and the spin-off "Legends of Tomorrow".

JAKH

A couple other movies to consider as "Superman adjacent": "Megamind" (2010) "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" (2006) "Brightburn" (2019)

It is a bit sad watching the demise of a franchise with 3 & 4. Reeve is the best thing in 3 and tries to hold it together in 4.He knew a shitshow was going on around him.

Larrys1254

Coby,as mentioned in another discussion, I suggest the following next: Man of Steel Batman v Superman Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Chad L. Summers

To spare your connection and memories of the OG (Brando & Reeve), I suggest moving on to "Man of Steel" (Henry Cavill). It is good in its own way. Quite a different tempo and feel, yes, but just because it's a different time.

Joe Swenson

Man of steel next definitely. Keep your fond memories of the chrisoper Reeve movies intact. The Brandon Routh version can be overlooked, Man of Steel is definitely the way to go

Max du Coudray

Henry Cavill is a great Superman, but Zack Snyder really doesn’t understand the character, turning him into a depressed and sometimes mean-spirited guy. Snyder’s Superman movies are not good.

Silver Machine

Unfortunately, you have already watched all of the good, live-action Superman films. It’s all downhill from here, no matter which way you go. At least 3 & 4 are cheesy fun. Superman Returns is a boring mess. Man of Steel is cynical and depressing. But you might consider watching the animated film, “All-Star Superman” (2011) It’s a good movie, based on a superb comic book written by Grant Morrison. It also has Christina Hendricks as Lois Lane, who learns Superman’s secret identity – and doesn’t forget it!

Christopher Ferrarelli

I think she should watch Superman III; just to appreciate not just Reeve as Superman but also the humor from Richard Pryor. I also think she should also see Supergirl (1984); in part because the version that is available to see isn’t the U.S. version. It runs a little longer, meaning it’s got extra scenes. From here, then go to Returns and then to the Zack Snyder films (MoS, BVS, and ZSJL), with Wonder Woman (2017) and Aquaman (2018) somewhere in between. But definitely skip over The Quest for Peace.

"Adventures of Superman" with George Reeves, TV, 1952-1958.

Gregg Dukes

Superman 3 is definitely worth watching. It has some good comedy with Richard Pryor. Some new villains. Some new faces and old. Richard Pryor is great in Superman 3. You see a different side of Superman not seen before which I love. I know nothing about Superman 4 but the comments on here tell me everything I need to know. Not worth watching 4. But definitely watch Superman 3. 😁👍

I too have a soft spot for Superman Returns and Kevin Spacey makes a delightfully wicked Lex Luthor. And the airplane scene makes it worth the price of admission. It also reprises much of the original Superman movie music. And the chance to see Eva Marie Saint, the heroine of Hitchcock's North by Northwest, as Martha Kent, is the icing on the cake. Saint is still with us past age 100. For some reason, people seem to like Man of Steel, but to me, it was ridiculously frenetic. Even the great Amy Adams as Lois Lane doesn't help matters much. The cast is fully stacked, though. I would avoid Supermans III and IV.

Vivekk

Christopher Reeve was awesome in Superman and Superman 2. I would go to "Deathtrap" or "Somewhere in Time" next. . Hollywood saw him as a Romantic Hero rather than a Superhero? Reeve turned down multiple roles in big-budget movies, focusing instead on independent films and plays with complex characters. He appeared in critically successful films such as Somewhere in Time (1980), Deathtrap (1982), The Bostonians (1984), Street Smart (1987), and The Remains of the Day (1993), and in the plays Fifth of July on Broadway and The Aspern Papers in London's West End. Robin Williams was his roomate at Juilliard in the 1970s. Check out the documentary "Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story," which explores their bond from their early years to Reeve's death in 2004

I loved Superman 1 and 2, but I'm not crazy about 3. It's your show; if you want to watch S3, I will watch it with you, but if it were up to me, I would move on.

Smallville is a great show. One of my all-time favorite shows.
