In honor of today being Harry Dean Stanton’s heavenly birthday! He was a true legend so I thought I’d share a little extra. The typed squares are snippets from the first (and last 😂) time I was featured in Rolling Stone magazine. The interviewer came to see Harry at our house in Sydney, Australia, and since Harry would rather play than be interviewed, I ended up getting a few mentions! Haha. As for dressing gown/robe Harry doing his best Hef? That’s us poolside at his place in LA many MANY moons ago when my dad and I first went to visit him. Happy Birthday Harry - your would be 99th… 🖤

Last time in Rolling Stone…for now. 😉 My favorite Harry Dean Stanton story is that there were guards named Harry and Dean Stanton in The Green Mile - in which HDS played a guard as well. I guess it’s now my second favorite Harry Dean Stanton story. And if you haven’t seen The Green Mile, then I have one hell of a reaction suggestion for you.

Paris, Texas means so much to me. Beautiful film.

He was in so many great movies, some of my favorites. Cool Hand Luke (1967), Kelly's Heroes (1970), The Godfather Part II (1974), Alien (1979), Escape from New York (1981), Christine (1983). I had always wanted to meet him and have him sign my ALIEN laserdisc. never had the chance.

Wow, that’s amazing. I didn’t know who he was untilI I watched Twin Peaks. He was great in Fire Walk with Me, and even better in TP The Return (especially in one amazing scene) and now I can appreciate why people love him so much.

Oh my god, I'm choking up reading this! Oh my god, I have to rewatch the Repo Man reaction. What a beautiful guy and also what a beautiful child you were, that article melted my heart! You couldn't ask for better moments to be captured by a journalist! :D. The photos are precious. Don't know what to say other than you were there, your Dad was there, your mom was there. I covered a Saints song! Loved Harry Dean my whole life. And long before I knew any of this, I was addicted to your highly intelligent and informed movie reactions! So I guess.....thanks for EVERYTHING! (and pass it along to the whole family! :D ). PS: You must have been so freaking delighted when you saw Repo Man!!!!!! I mean, for me, that's THE Harry Dean movie! PSS: Have you seen him in "The Missouri Breaks"? With Brando and Jack Nicholson? Definitely put that on your Harry Dean shortlist! I mean what else is there to say: Brando, Nicholson....Harry Dean! :D

I used to see Harry perform at the Mint on Pico Blvd. He’d sing oldies like Spanish Harlem. Super cool dude, and a great actor.

Thank you for sharing this Coby. He was an amazing actor. I first remember him from Escape From New York, and Alien. I used to watch SNL reruns on Comedy Central, and they showed an episode he had hosted back in the 80s. I need to watch Paris Texas, I’ve heard so many great things about it.

Adorable. Absolutely adorable. What a wonderful friend for young child to have. 👍🏼😁👍🏼

I grew up watching Gunsmoke. He was often a guest star on the show. He was a great actor.
