What a great reaction this one was! Had a blast!

At the time of the film’s release in 92, my brother pulled up by a car driven by an old couple. He then proceeded to signal them to roll down their window and said “Pardon me! Do you have any Grey Poupon?” Of course he had not only seen this, but had the whole 90s long hair, mtv shirt and played in a band. Man I miss the 90s! Wayne’s World was a huge influence on lots of 90s kids and teens.

The Grey Poupon bit was a spoof of a TV commercial for Grey Poupon. Based on your reaction i was not sure if you were aware of that commercial.

While watching on YouTube I kept hoping you’d remember where you knew Brian Doyle-Murray from… the mayor of Punxsutawney in Groundhog Day 🤣

Tia Carrera did do her own singing, and learned to play bass as well. Terminator 2 had just come out a few months earlier, so that joke couldn’t have had better timing. I saw it in the theater, and that scene got such a huge reaction. Are you going to do Wayne’s World 2? I remember liking it just as much. This one was fun. Hope you have an awesome week!!

That was such a fun reaction! I've watched this so much over the years I can quote the whole thing lol Here's some cool trivia for you: The film is credited with reviving the popularity of the British rock band Queen in the US through its use of their 1975 song "Bohemian Rhapsody." They had dropped in popularity throughout the 1980s in the US and hadn't even bothered to include the country in their final two international tours. This film caused the song to become a bigger hit in the US chart than it had been first time around, peaking at #2. Unfortunately, Freddie Mercury didn't live to see the song's renaissance as he passed away just a few months before the film's release. However, according to guitarist Brian May, Mercury did give permission for the song to be used and saw the clips while he was close to death because Mike Myers had sent a tape and wanted him to see it. Alice Cooper came to the set under the impression that he would be performing musically for the film, with one line. Upon arrival, he was surprised to be handed an entire monologue to memorize and shoot with a small amount of time to do so. However, Cooper is known to be a history buff outside of his music career.

WW might be the earliest example of “that’s what she said” in a film. A fav moment that was not capture in this reaction but still a fun one nonetheless.

Since you’re doing firsts please consider reacting to Steven Soderbergh’s (Erin brocavich, oceans eleven) first movie that he wrote and directed: Sex, Lies, and Videotape. You liked Zero Effect I promise you’ll like this one too (and more people know it). Please! For a guy stuck in the hospital. “Excellent” as slang came from 70’s surfer and skateboarding culture. By the late 1970s, Southern California youth, especially in surf and skate circles, were using *excellent* as a casual way to say “awesome” or “rad.” It stood alongside other now-classic expressions like *bitchin’*, *gnarly*, and *totally tubular*—each sprinkled liberally into beachside banter and mall conversation Notably it was used in the 1982 classic “fast times at ridgemont high” by Jeff Spicoli which predates Bill and Ted by 7 years. I believe when Garth has a straw in a donut I believe he is sucking out the jelly filling.

other early 1990's Tia Carrere: "True Lies" (1994) "Rising Sun" (1993) "Showdown in Little Tokyo" (1991)

The Grey Poupon bit was a reference to TV commercials of the time where 2 Rolls Royces would pull up next to each other at a stop light, and one would ask the other to borrow some Grey Poupon mustard.

The "Mission Impossible" theme music was from the TV show with Peter Graves. The movies hadn't been made yet.
