CLUE (1985) - MOVIE REACTION - First Time Watching

Clue is a 1985 American black comedy mystery film based on the board game Clue. It was written and directed by Jonathan Lynn, who co-wrote the story with John Landis, and produced by Debra Hill, and it stars the ensemble cast of Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, and Lesley Ann Warren, with Colleen Camp and Lee Ving in supporting roles. Like the board game, the film has multiple different endings. Each of three possibilities were screened at different theaters, and home media releases include all. My son bought the DVD and it has the different endings on it. Unfortunately, it is a random process when you watch the movie as to which ending you will get. But, stoll fun to watch. I haven't seen the movie for quite sometime so tonight will be fun again for me!! Thank you dear. 😊

Such a great film. The different endings were novel, but ultimately were one of the reasons that the film didn't do so well at the box office. It established quite the cult following after though once it made it to home video.

I hadn't seen this in years till I watched it with you last week. Great reaction! I agree I would love to see this as a play

Miss Coby, with the Remote in the viewing room. Did I win? lol

There was originally a 4th ending shot for the movie, but it was deemed too dark and not funny enough so they scrapped it. It had Wadsworth as the sole killer and he even poisoned the other guests! He told them they would die in 3 hours without the antidote... When the Chief arrives from the cops/FBI, Wadsworth escapes in the car. Apparently the last thing you see is him driving as your hear very loud growls coming from the backseat. There is some screaming and the scene fades to black. Apparently, the 2 dogs that lunge at Wadsworth at the beginning (whom he gives the bones to) managed to get in the car!

Flames! Flames...on the side of my face! That bit was improvised and always makes me laugh.

Thank you Coby...... I hadn't watched this since it first came out on VHS back in the late 80s and I forgot how funny it was. A real cult classic, made even better watching it with you and everyone else. It's kept me up till well past 3am and my alarm clock goes off in three hours but it was worth it as it always is...xxx ♥️

Thanks again Coby dear. I enjoyed tonight and you have helped put a smile on my face. 🥰 🐶

Great reaction, Coby. It's always so much fun to watch along with you. Tim Curry was fantastic on Broadway as King Arthur in Spamalot. I don't think there is a full filmed version of Spamalot, but you can see him perform a song or two from the show from various TV appearances (available on Youtube), if you are interested. He has a distinct singing voice. And he made a great devil (under a TON of makeup) in Legend (1985 - same year as Clue).

Hey Coby. I hope you’re having a great week. This one was fun. I’m sure I played the game as a kid, another lifetime ago 🤣 You mentioned the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I think you would absolutely love that. The lady from What’s Up Doc, is Madeleine Khan. She was regular actress in many of the classic Mel Brooks movies like Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein.Speaking of which, have you ever seen High Anxiety? it’s Mel Brooks referencing all the old Hitchcock movies like Psycho, Vertigo, and Rear Window. That’s one I think you’d like too.

Great reaction tonight! Great chat! I lost internet twice but it came back quickly! Damn weather! We had quite the dust storm tonight. Sky Harbor lost part of the roof on Terminal 4!

What a fun adventure and fabulous reaction from you.
