DIRTY HARRY (1971) - Full Watch Along

Dirty Harry is a 1971 American action-thriller film produced and directed by Don Siegel, the first in the Dirty Harry series. Clint Eastwood plays the title role, in his first appearance as San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan. The film drew upon the real-life case of the Zodiac Killer as the Callahan character seeks out a similar vicious psychopath.

This is absolutely one of my top ten movies of all time. It’s iconic, and yes keep going because the second one Magnum Force, may be every bit as good. The whole series is just awesome! Happy Easter Coby.

Directed by the great Don Siegel, one of the two most influential directors in Clint’s early career along with Sergio Leone. Both men passed away shortly before the release of Unforgiven, which is dedicated to them. They certainly spotted a great talent and collaborated excellently with him. Happy Easter Coby!

Yes, I would definitely stick with these. I love watching movies from the '70s or earlier. I was born in '62, so I grew up with all of these. I thought it was funny when Dirty Harry was about to say his famous 'Do you feel lucky, punk?' line. I had my headphones on, and I knew you were about to blow my ears up with that great scream and laugh. I was trying to turn down the volume, but I didn't do it in time. You can't go wrong with any Clint Eastwood movie. Happy Easter, Coby! Happy Easter, everyone.

I believe that memorial wall with the names of fallen San Francisco police officers was real. The Irish came to establish themselves in old San Francisco and in the police rolls as can be seen in the names on the memorial and in San Francisco's history. Names like O'Shaughnessy Street have its origin from an Irish engineer who emigrated to San Francisco and was instrumental in establishing the City's Municipal Railway (now known as MTA) and the Hetch Hetchy water project from which the City of San Francisco obtains its drinking water from the valley near Yosemite. Harry Callahan's name follows that old San Francisco tradition. Reni Santoni plays 'Chico' Gonzalez. If you find a copy of writer/director Carl Reiner's "Enter Laughing" from 1967, Reni plays a high school kid who dreams of becoming a theater actor. The movie is a real treat for any aspiring theater actor, nerd or otherwise. Andrew Robinson is a fine actor and was in another of Clint's Malpaso production company's movies called "Charlie Varrick". Oddly, it feels as if this were written for Clint to play the title character but instead Walter Matthau does a credible job in Clint's place.

That’s Andrew Robinson from Hellraiser… no wonder he’s intense 😅

Coby, Welcome to Dirty Harry, to answer your question yes continue with the series Next up is "Magnum Force" (1973). You can not go wrong withe Clint Eastwood. Also I was so happy that you saw the movie marquee "Play Misty For Me" (1971) it was Clints dictatorial debut when came out before "Dirty Harry" which was release later that year. Scorpio was fashioned after the Zodiac Killer.

Eastwood is the greatest. I wish I could meet him. Coby you wanted to know how many in the series, here you go In Order Dirty Harry (1971) Magnum Force (1973) My personal favorite. but the first one so close. The Enforcer (1976) Sudden Impact (1983) The Dead Pool (1988)

I'm new here. I'm trying to watch the movie but cannot.

This one was the best of the bunch. I've seen them all dozens of times. The original was so revolutionary to film. Before this movie every cop you had seen in any movie, was straight laced, and by the book and really quite honestly boring. After this movie, every single cop movie copied this formula.

Andrew Robinson is an acting coach and plays in deep space nine his facial expressions scare the hell out of me
