Oh this was so much fun! And so well done, hats off to Kirsten Dunst... For something technically in the fantasy genre, it was deep, dark and grounded enough for me to absolutely love it! Hope you enjoy this Full Watch Along, and since they go to Paris, reaction highlights will be up on TCS in June for French month! 🖤

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (1994) - Full Watch Along

Interview with the Vampire is a 1994 American gothic horror film directed by Neil Jordan and written by Anne Rice, based on her 1976 novel of the same name, and starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. It focuses on Lestat (Cruise) and Louis (Pitt), beginning with Louis' transformation into a vampire by Lestat in 1791. The film chronicles their time together, and their turning of young Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) into a vampire. The narrative is framed by a modern-day interview, in which Louis tells his story to a San Francisco reporter (Christian Slater). The supporting cast features Antonio Banderas and Stephen Rea.

You did a really good job with this one! First time I had ever seen this too!

I haven’t seen this in ages. I’ll have to check this out. I still haven’t got a chance to see the movie where you play Dracula. That looks really cool.

Can we get some upvotes for WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS film and series? Would be a great follow-up.

Coby, I know I've said this before but... I think I speak for everyone who saw this in the theater like I did... We KNEW right then that the 11 year old girl named Kirsten Dunst was going to be an amazing actress, and we were right! You did a great job with this Coby, and I'm so happy you enjoyed it! I would have hated to be on the wrong side of your fangs if you hadn't liked it! 🧛

I enjoyed this, as I do most vampire and horror movies. I would love for you to react to more vampire movies, starting with the 1931 Dracula and then Christopher Lee's Dracula. The original Nosferatu is a silent film classic that everyone should see at least once. I remember when Interview with the Vampire came out, everyone was talking about Kristen Dunst and how good her breakthrough performance was, and I have to agree.

Great reaction, Coby! Dunst was such a revelation when this film was released. I was disappointed we never got The Vampire Lestat with Cruise. A few years ago, the director said it would have happened, but at the time, Cruise just wasn't interested in sequels. Vampires have such a rich film history, and I hope to see more in the future here. Maybe around Halloween (fingers crossed). Some all-time favorites. Nosferatu (1922) Dracula (1931) Horror of Dracula (1958) Fright Night (1985) The Lost Boys (1987) Near Dark (1987) Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) Let the Right One In (2008) Thirst (2009) What We Do in the Shadows (2014) Nosferatu (2024)

In the book, Armand looked to be about sixteen years old, with auburn hair. If you're interested in a Dracula comedy, try Love at First Bite.
