One of THE great central performances in movies, especially when you think that it took Sellers 8 years to get it to screen, after first reading the short novella. Sellers' penultimate movie, and the less said about his final one, the better! (At least it was his final movie to be released at the time of his passing, so there is that consolation.)

Coby.... Following my message on your YouTube 80k subscribers post, I just wanted to add a little more of how we ALL feel...... For me personally and for thousands upon thousands of like minded folks around the world, a new Coby reaction is one of the ultimate things in life. Imagine the smile of a small child when they are gifted both an adorable puppy AND a cute kitten.....that is the smile I have, that WE ALL have every time you gift us a new reaction Coby. It's a prestigious moment, a joyous thing that makes us all grin from ear to ear like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Thats because of you Coby, because of how special you are and how you have a unique ability to turn a movie reaction into a spectacular and special event. For that, I thank you...we all thank you for allowing us to share your cinematic experiences with you. Through your reactions, you have also been the reason that there is the most fabulous community..... Dave, Chase, Paul, Bruce, Scott, RJ, Mark, Harley, Harvey, EtX, NKFD, NemeanLion, mr_wilkins, Jeff, Celeste.......the list goes on and on....so many incredible and wonderful people, and for all of those I haven't named personally....I apologise sincerely. You are ALL so very, very important and special......my life doesn't have many meaningful interactions outside of work and your community has given me that....with you leading the way Coby, it's such an enjoyable and wonderful place to be involved with and the friendships I've made there have bettered my life immensely. I'm going to be self deprecating again, but I don't ever consider myself to be an integral piece of the community, if someone tells me differently, I am genuinely shocked as I don't bring anything substantial to the chats and I don't believe my presence or involvement brings anything of value or importance. I'm just me. And I'll always be just me.....but the appreciation I have to be included, to have been welcomed into it means the world to me.... from yourself and everyone there. My life is considerably better because of The Coby Show ...for that you have my eternal thanks, as does EVERY person I've had the pleasure and privilege to have spoken to in the chats or here on your patreon. But it's more than that.... For someone who gives us the quantity you do, it is miraculous that the quality never drops and that every single video is sublime, impeccable... spectacular. Me and everyone who watches your videos loves ya, and please never ever forget how much we all adore and appreciate you in equal measure. That is not just how I feel, it's how each and everyone of us feels as well. You are awesome, your reactions continually make our days and evenings ( and in my case ...nights ) so full of sunshine, smiles, laughter and on occasion with tears as your emotions spread to us..... there hasn't been a time when I've finished watching without having a sense of wonderous joy. I do not know of anyone else who is so emotive, hardworking , honest, genuine, kind, welcoming and empathetic, someone who can make every reaction feel like a special and treasured occasion. I could attempt to conjure many more superlatives from the depths of my brain...but my poor vocabulary and literary skills would never be able to do justice in expressing how everyone of us feels. So instead, I will conclude by simply saying thank you..... Thank you for being you, thank you for accepting me into your wonderful community and allowing me to play my tiny part in it, thank you for every reaction, thank you for being you and thank you for being the coolest gal on the internet. ( Oh yeah....my apologies again for trying to write a novel with this comment..... sorry )

Super psyched for this one! '79 was a great year. In December, at the very end of the 70s, not just 1979, a flurry of great ones came out. "All That Jazz", oh my god, you have to see that movie!!!! "Going In Style", a beautiful tragi-comedy. And then Kramer Vs. Kramer AND this movie (Being There), released on the same day!! Hope you hit all three, especially All That Jazz!! Mindblowing! Bob Fosse, autobiographical. Enough said!

Please also consider Harold and Maude from the same director, Hal Ashby. Another great unconventional early 70's comedy with a Cat Stevens soundtrack
