In LMA, "alignment" means various elements moving or facing the same direction. For example, two sides of a joint moving or facing the same direction is alignment. When two sides of a joint don't move together, you get shear force and possible injury.

In this video, I am keeping my head aligned with my trunk. I'm swinging my arms to generate momentum to power my movements, just as kids swing their legs on a swing or how we swing our arms while walking or during a jump.

  • I bend side to side from sapling stance, keeping my head in concert with my trunk, even as I lift my leg.

  • I bend forward and back. When I lean back, I tuck my chin to my chest to counteract the force of gravity.

  • I circle my trunk.

  • I turn clockwise and counterclockwise.

  • I stagger my sapling stance and rock side to side until I lift my legs. Then, I stagger the other way and do it again.

  • I rock back and forth until I lift my legs.

  • I circle my trunk.

  • I turn clockwise and counterclockwise.
