Plank and Neck Stability (Patreon)
Content
As we get deeper into the curriculum, we really want to condition our neck, shoulders, and core.
Get into a low plank on your forearms. Pull your neck into alignment. Rotate your head side to side to evenly strengthen your neck muscles while training your neck to be in neutral position. It should look like your head is on a swivel.
Make sure you squeeze your glutes and abs, roll your hips slightly forward, and push your shoulders and back into the air. Then, rotate your head up to 20 times. If you want to do more, increase your reps slowly over time. You don't want to strain your neck.
If you want to build up your knuckles while you're at it, you can do this same exercise while holding a high plank. This means holding a knuckle push-up position. Squeeze your grip as hard as you can.
You can also do any of these variations on your knees.
