I need you guys to understand what it was like in the two years in between the end of season 2 and the premiere of season 3. The hysterical theorising of how he did it and obsession this drummed up at the time was unprecedented

Do they ever explain it? Yes, but most people don't like the explanation because it's a huge divergence from the original story...and also because there were so many years between seasons that people all had their own camps already to explain it. lol. The wait between this ep and the next was two years, and it was agonizing.
