I am so glad you really enjoyed it! I would def recommend checking volumes 2 and 3 (there are 4 volumes in total but volume 4 isn't translated yet unfortunately but I do have the fan translation if you were interested!) Also to answer your question, this is essentially in the 616, it's post superior 2 but before the zeb wells run for the timeline. I will def try to read knightfall in a bit tho! For the patreon recc, I'll say robbie reyes ghost rider because Marvel Tokon is cool!

I very much enjoy the Comic Club: bang for the buck indeed! I think what's helping me to enjoy it is seeing you enjoy what you're reading. Given it features Mr. Nigma in his 'private detective' era, and that Sirens: Love Hurts have been making the rounds, I feel I have to put the '09 Gotham City Sirens series into the running. Could serve as a fun retrospective

Knightfall is one of those series where I have picked it up but never finished it. It's nothing to do with the quality of the story as I do enjoy this set-up to Bane, but it does reflect its central antagonist in being daunting as all get out and intimidating to face/finish. The closest I've ever gotten is finishing one of the 'side stories' that comes from the aftermath (?) of Knightfall: the comic where Arkham's destruction causes some of the inmates to get temporarily housed at Blackgate & they form a softball team (which is quite the fun read for those who enjoy serious characters getting into hijinks)! I look forward to seeing how much of the Knightfall story you cover for the video.

Can Webcomics be suggested? If so Erma by Brandon Santiago is really fun, it starts off mainly as just short joke stories but has some full story arcs. It’s about girl named Erma who is half Yokai on her mother’s side, they’re both basically legally distinct Sadako, and her life as a little girl with ghost powers.

Knightfall looms large in my childhood, the uk comic Superman & Batman Magazine #3 1994(reprinting Batman #494 along with, i think, Justice League of America #69 as part of the Death of Superman), is quite possibly the first american comic I read. And I borrowed Scone (pronounced Scoon) library's copy of KnightsEnd more times than i can count. Knightfall's legacy was long lasting but the reality doesnt live up to it. Knightfall rushes and drags too much. It feels like it rushes in to Batman burning out then dwells on it way too long dragging the agony of watching him in despair then it has to rush the finale of Bane breaking him. With that GODAWFUL Jim Aparo art in the some of the pivotal issues and in that heart crushing finale which loses it's impact because they chose Jim Aparo's art, which is just a really bad Neal Adam's impression. Why they chose his art for this and A Death in the Family is beyond me it robs the story of half it's emotional impact with his cartoonish art. Made even worse in Knightfall by the fact you've got the magnificent Kelley Jones doing some heavy lifiting with the covers he did then you get... Aparo's mediocrity inside. Kelley Jones heavily influenced my taste in art from a young age (i turned 9 in 1994). So yeah, Knightfall, great idea, brilliant legacy, but poorly executed and doesn't live up to the hype. I didn't even get to the Image Comics (potential) influence but this comment is already too long. Thoroughly enjoying the comic club but please no more spiders and bats for a while. My pick for the poll for the next book is The Mask by John Arcudi and Dough Mahnke (the original mini series collection of issues #0 to 4 seems to be hard to come by but The Mask Omnibus vol 1 then?)
