Without a doubt, 1996 was the worst year in all of comic history.

Is the problem capitalism?

Hi. I'm a fairly long time fan of yours and particularly respect your interest in history and exploring novel creations within the medium. And I want to share a love *I* have with a particular comic that could be something worth a video. In a sparking epiphany thanks to some (entirely legal in my area) herbal inhalants, I realized that America already HAS a Mangaka. We've had one all along. There is a long running single artist story that started almost literally at the same time as Toriyama's Dragon Ball comics (Nov 1984 is first published date for both) that is running to this day, and it's even not that unknown it's just not that centered. Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo. Which has also been lauded as the single best English based expression of Japanese Samurai culture ever made. And it's a seriously moving war drama stacked on supernatural horror stacked on classic comedy all done with almost Disney-esque "funny animal" characters. Made my case. Cheers! Loved the video, that was indeed a wild god damn year for comics and comic fans.
