The following manuscript centers around both the humiliating and humorous aspects of burning the behinds of ponies who have it coming to them.

Baking Hazards

The scent of fresh flour, sugar, and blueberries wafted through the air of the Pinkie Pie’s kitchen. The pink pony was in the midst of preparing a batch of cookies for the upcoming Ponyville Spring Bake Festival, and this year her goods would be no match for the other bakers of the village. She had taken great care in ensuring that she procured the most zany bake tins she could possibly get her hoofs on, as well as several that were on the topic of the spring season.
Currently, she was going through several batches of the regular tins, which sported designs that represented the rebirth of nature in the season of spring. Cookies were her current project, and she hoped to have several baskets full of cookies shaped like buzzing bees, singing springbirds, cute bunny rabbits, blooming flowers, big-eyed lady bugs, chattering squirrels, and fluttering butterflies. She would need Twilight’s help to get the proper enchantments on the cookies of course, but that was what friends were for after all.
As Pinkie Pie worked, she kept herself company by humming longly and occasionally bursting into short spurts of song. As she leaned down to take a batch of cookies out of the oven, carefully maneuvering her front hooves in the baking gloves she had attached to them, she neatly deposited the steaming tray of cookies onto the kitchen counter in order to allow them to cool.
“Baking cookies! Cookies are being… Baked! Anything is a song, it’s as easy as making a cake!”
Her voice rang out, carrying out through the open window and out onto the open street, where several ponies were a little less than pleased to have to listen to Pinkie Pie’s makeshift right scheme as they went about their day. The party pony paid them no mind, but instead bustled over to her dough station to prepare yet another batch of her soon to be magically animated cookies.
She stopped, her gaze slowly drifting upwards as if accompanied by the slow sound of a low violin string being played in the background. Directly above her, merely a few feet away from the steaming fresh batch she had just pulled out, Pinkie Pie had noticed that a light bulb had winked out.
“That’s odd… I guess I better change it lickity split while the cookies are still cooling!”
She chirped, dashing off into the maintenance closet upstairs to retrieve what she needed to perform a simple light bulb exchange. She returned a minute later, clutching a step ladder in both of her hooves while holding the spare light bulb in her open muzzle.
“Eashy-peashy!”
She stated cheerfully through her full mouth, as she set the step ladder into place and climbed up it just high enough so she could reach the lightbulb. Unfortunately for, she was still just out of reach of being able to grasp the old bulb and unscrew it from its holster. Pinkie Pie frowned, appearing somewhat stumped at this particular conundrum as she set her jaw forward in a determined expression. Then, as if a light bulb of her own had flashed above her head, her face lifted into that of pure and unadulterated euphoria.
“Oh! I know! Pinkie Pie just needs to reach up on her tippy toes!”
Grinning at her own comedic genius, Pinkie Pie did just that as she stretched her forehoofs as high as they could do. She was just able to brush against the light bulb with the tip of her hoof as she stood precarious atop the step stool.
“Almost… Got it… Nearly… There…”
She muttered with gritted teeth, as her hooves once more grazed the light fixture. The pony felt a sudden loss in her balance, and beneath her the step stool wobbled precariously. Regaining her balance, she tried again, reaching up even further until she was able to just barely grab the bulb and give it a small twist. Determined, she gave it another twist, but found that she was not losing her balance more quickly than she had before. Pinkie Pie flailed for a moment, her arms pinwheeling as she desperately attempted to right herself. The step stool wobbled precariously underneath her, and the pony realized that she was about to go hurtling towards the floor of the kitchen.
With what little stability she had left, she kicked off of the step stool and reached up in pure desperation to grasp the wooden beam above her. She made it, her hooves curling around the wooden structure as she watched the step stool below clatter to the ground.
“Phew! That was close… Now to get down and try again!”
Pinkie Pie glanced down, and what met her eyes did not reassure her that it would be as easy as she had just stated. Beneath her, the cookie tin, fresh from the oven, as posed directly beneath her dangling hooves. She could feel the waves of hot air wafted off of it, still resonant with the oven’s fire and the scent of the cookies was tangible as steam still visibly came off of the hot baked goods. They had still not cooled, and she was poised to fall directly on top of them.
She grimaced, her mind racing as she attempted to figure out a solution that would not involve her falling directly on top of the scalding tin. Her grip was beginning to loosen, as the strength in her forehooves was giving way to the force of gravity tugging her ever closer to the hot metal of the cookie tin. She whimpered, attempting to readjust her grip with her hooves but only slipping down further towards the tin.
Pinkie Pie could now feel the hot air rising up towards her bottom, causing a sensation of slight discomfort as she felt her rear end beginning to warm up from the escaped heat of the oven contained within the cookie tin metal.
“Gotta… Hold… On…”
Suddenly, in a desperate play for someone to rescue her, she managed to squeak out a stifled cry before slipping down even further towards the steaming tin.
“Heh-Help! Help me!”
But it was too late at that point, she had slipped too far to regain a hold on the beam, and a second later she was plummeting bottom first down towards the tin. She landed with a pained grunt, cookies flying everywhere and scattering into bits and pieces as they collided with the floor beneath the kitchen counter. Pinkie Pie yelped loudly, the sensation of burning hot metal shapes pressing into her bottom causing a spike of pain to surge through her as she landed with the full force of her body weight against the cookie tin. She yowled, her voice rising in pitch as she cried out from the sheer pain of being burnt across the entirety of her hind quarters.
“AAAAAAAOOOOOOH! OHO! OHOHOHOHO! OOOOOUUUUUAAAA HOOOOT! HOT HAHAHAHA-HOT!”
As if she had been fired from a cannon in a circus, Pinkie Pie kicked off the side of the counter with her hooves and flew across the kitchen as smoke smoldered off of her bottom. She collided with a grunt against a pile of sacks of flour, which only slightly softened her landing as all the air rushed out of her lungs.
“Oof!”
She gasped, gingerly clamboring off of the flour sacks as she righted herself once more. She breathed for a moment, wincing and contorting her face from the sheer pain of what had just happened to her poor bottom. It had been scalding hot, and it did not help her one bit that she had already been properly warmed up by the hot air wafting off of the tin. Pinkie Pie had been properly roasted, and the sensation of her throbbing bottom growing large and red as she twisted around to look at herself did not reassure her.
Making small noises of pain and discomfort as she did so, Pinkie Pie slinked her way over to the stairway in the bakery, through a sea of crumbs and broken pieces of cookie, and made her way up to the second floor and towards her bedroom.
“Ow! Ouch! Oh! Owie! Ouch!”
Once inside, she opened the door to her adjoining bathroom and flicked on the light. She turned around, her face appearing nervous as she looked back at herself in the mirror to fully examine the extent of the damage that had been done to her blazed butt. The cookie tin appeared to have branded her with the designs intended for the cookies, now displayed in darker red splotches on her round, bright right buttocks.
Squarely in the middle, a large sunflower bloomed out of the singed skin of her butt. Around it, appearing distorted but still recognizable as the spring animal images that they were, was a squirrel, lady bug, rabbit, a flying bird, butterfly, and buzzing bee displayed right there on her butt for all to see. Her cutie mark almost paled in comparison to the images branded onto her.
“Ooooh this is so humiliating!”
She cried out, stomping her left front hoof against the tile of the bathroom in protest as she pouted with her lower lip. Pinkie Pie appeared downright miserable, the opposite of her regular cheerful, carefree appearance. The cookie tin had done a nasty job of burning her backside, and judging from the redness of the injury it would be quite a while before such wounds would fully disappear. Carefully, as if she were walking on eggshells, she clopped over to her bathtub and turned on the cold water.
With a sigh of relief, she positioned her behind underneath the welcome stream of cool water. She remained so for a few minutes, wincing every once in a while as the pain spiked and ebbed. Whenever she moved her butt out of the stream with the intention of heading downstairs and cleaning up her mess, she would quickly reposition herself underneath the water as the pain would resurface almost immediately after she budged from the shower stream. She sighed, resigning herself to a few more minutes of showering her butt with water before finally deciding she had to simply deal with the pain as she took care of the bakery downstairs.
She moped her way down the stairs again, head hanging low as she headed over to the broom closet to start cleaning up the crumbs lay strewn across the entire floor. An image of a butterfly missing its wings and a headless bird lying on the ground did little to lighten her mood, but she quickly drew her head up as the bell above the front door jingled and several ponies walked in.
“Pinkie Pie?”
Rarity queried, and the pony in question saw that Rarity, Twilight, and Rainbowdash had just entered the bakery with baskets clutched in their mouths. Pinkie Pie smiled nervously, moving to the side to do her best to standing directly in front of her red quarters as did attempted to act as if nothing had happened.
“Dude, what happened to your butt?”
Rainbow Dash grimaced, flying over to her and giving her bottom a good look. She laughed, nodding her head for the others to come over and examine the poor pony’s new cookie tin branding. Rarity smirked, but tried her best to keep her composure. Twilight also attempted to remain polite, but the corners of her lip turned upwards as she strode over as well to get a good look.
“Hey! Don’t be mean! It really hurts…”
Pinkie Pie cried back, moving backwards in an attempt to hide her but out of view. She only succeeded in bumping against the door of the broom closet with her butt, and the contact with burned skin caused her to yelp and leap forward once more. The heads of the three visiting ponies turned in an arc as they watched her sail through the air, landing squarely on top of the flour sacks on more, this time burying herself inside of them with only her butt and hind legs sticking out. She struggled, but eventually gave up as her body went limp. With her burned butt fully on display, for the three giggling ponies, Pinkie Pie wondered for the first time whether the Spring Baking Festival was really worth it this year.
