I'm gonna make a wild guess here, what if Runi saw the ghost/spirit of someone from their herd, who came to let her know their herd has been killed? The reason Runi says "don't freak out" is because she's either with the ghost, or she's crying heavily. Second wild guess: one of the gods (maybe Loss) appeared and has temporarily taken over Runi to say something to Nero. It is benevolent and Runi is aware, but her eyes will look different, hence "don't freak out". ... or it's much less dramatic than either of these xD I can't wait to see whatever it is though.
