I am also curious, Eve. But I don't think I want your answers

Spiritstrike

I heard a pop noise the second the flashback ended lmao with Usmu being there then gone the next

AdventureLemon

I love how in the first page there is no need for excessive dialogue, their body language and context tell us everything. How many bodies have piled up since the last time Antaras told her “just a little longer”? Poor Usma seems to realize that this is not going to stop. And Eve, I am guessing she will maybe ask if he’s willing to give his daughter to Loss now that she’s defected. Either way another great page!

Mistclaw

Did Eve's eyes change color or is it just the lighting? Either way Antaras done fucked up

rattGS

It's just the pink shading on the eye. It changes for all characters from scene to scene according to the color of the atmosphere.

Mistclaw

Thanks for clearing that up! :3

Katie

What a beautiful transition to the next day just showing that Usma has left. Well, Antaras, if you somehow trapped Eve in order to save your fawn, you just lost your other child instead.

Tholfbutt

Oh, sure, as if a one-sided awkward Voldemort hug will soothe her heart. GREAT job, Antaras. And you have the GALL to look betrayed?

Jean

Ahhh what a tangled, tangled web we weave. And suddenly, all you have left is the company of an apathetic life god and the death god you hold prisoner. A very cold, lonely existence indeed. Was it truly worth it, Antaras?

Norwein

So glad that Usma made her choice to leave. I bet it was just as painful as seeing the lifeless bodies and hear the lies that Antaras kept telling her all this time. At least now she might have a chance to become her own self and once again discover hope that she had to wait for an eternal "little longer" when she was beside her father.

Stavia

I mean… how long is a little longer? How long does it take for a god to give birth?

PantheraCorax

“…how does it feel to have lost everything you held dear?” -Eve, probably

I want to study Eve like she’s a bug Sooo after a reread my current theory is that Eve is possessing the body of Antaras’ wife/or baby momma (also theorizing that doe was Usma’s mother), and maaaaybe her spirit is in Eve’s ring as Loss is in Antaras’ Not sure how or why she’s there, but considering “Eve is angry” and seems now to be enjoying the stag’s suffering, I’m guessing that this wasn’t Eve’s choice And where does the unborn fawn come in? We have confirmation that Antaras is the father…but is Eve the actual mother? Oooh I’m so hooked now lol

Dang, that transition. No blowup. No argument. Usma is there one second, gone the next. Her broken, blank expression is so good/heartbreaking. I wonder if this was the first time she's seen Antaras use Loss to kill, or if he's done it a few other times and justified it to her. I feel like it's the former, and she just went from being worried for her father to seeing four bodies around him. She's stunned and dissociating and too horrified to feel anything else, even fear or anger.

Jelly Faun

god what LOVEABLE villains. I love a plot where the antagonist has to justify what he is doing is right. It grows and grows and he goes farther and farther into madness until he even has to justify it to himself. Also Eve talking again. Not a good sign. She has proven that she does not talk unless she REALLY has something to say. At least Antaras is taking it better than last time?

KeefBeef

The way you use monochromatic backgrounds is so!! insanely amazing!! Its so easy to differentiate scenes and how you're supposed to feel about it. The dark, moody rainforest to the murderous purples and calm pastel pinks AUGH its so good

Diznits

antaras has been looking more worn down as of late- looking at the bags under his eyes. i wonder how much of a toll this is taking 👀

Cynthia Stimpson

I wonder if Helavise was actually teaching Usma to godcall. Based on their conversation before her death. They seemed close enough for her to have tears for.
