Have you seen those videos of deer jumping down highway bridges out of panic? They haunted my mind during this chapter.

The look Antaras give to Ame as to say this is what happens if you dont listen to me bitch!! Holy shit!!

Katie

The poor herd. Someone could ask Antaras the classic question "Will doing this bring your loved ones back?", but then you realise that sacrificing this herd to bring Ouida and their unborn fawn back, might be exactly what Antaras believes.

AdventureLemon

The situation is flipped in such a sick way… now, in time of trouble, no one listens to Ame. I wonder what she is thinking, now that she can see Antaras’ hardened accusatory gaze. I have a feeling that she will be a sacrifice for the wolves, and the rest will fall into that chasm, for Loss to take them. Poor Usma, one trauma after the other.

VenvaTio

Thats why Antaras and Oudia is my absolute favourites ❤️

Kifo entiegon

you know, as much as i feel sorry for the herd being chased to their deaths, i actually feel sorry for Usma more having to witness it all. just look at that look of horror in her eye

Dingis0

Nevermind about usma having to witness another herd be devoured by wolves but this isn't much better

Robo87

This is seriously chilling When he first put the markings on their head, I envisioned ritual sacrifice…but in a mind control sort of way, or a sudden mass death like all of them have an aneurysm. I knew the end wouldn’t be pretty but I thought that even if he controlled them to jump at his order…that the march wouldn’t know what was happening. Horrifying still, but quietly ruthless. A grim means to an end But this…this is vindictive boarding on sadistic. Their last moments are spent in terror and pain…and Antaras feels that this is justified. That they deserve this sort of death for mocking him, for making him lose Oudia and their fawn, for shattering his family. That they DESERVE this Oudia’s death was brutal and unfair, and he shouldn’t have been mocked for his warning, but not even Ame deserves this fate Poor Usma (and seriously FUCK Antaras for going for WOLVES of all things), and poor Oudia too If she was alive, or he found a way to bring her back too…I can’t see Oudia ever forgiving him for the trail of bodies in his wake. The march, all the stillborns, the suffering elderly, the young parents, the young does the same age as their own daughter….the Antaras that Oudia loved died with her.

Antlersap

Its the fact that the herd probably lost as much as he did

Ollieosa

I feel sorry for her the most I think, now that we know what she's been through

Aen Riv

Well played, Antaras

Blueprince

Oh damn, is he smirking?

Sash Is Trash

"Those with heavy shoulders like ours deserve this the most."

StargazingBerry

OMG- HE MARKED THEM FOR DEATH- HDKKFJDKDKHD THIS IS INSANE I LOVE HIM- WHAT LMAO-

Tholfbutt

“You deserve this most.” is what I envision Andy thinking with those eyes.

itsloach

Nothing expresses your rage and wrath like siccing a pack of wolves on people. Good lord Usma was not kidding about Andy's actions being done in haste though. How quickly did he move to find the pack for this.

Spiritstrike

This is so chilling! The stares between them both… it’s hauntingly tragic.

Silfnix

On the previous page, seeing 3 wolves made some of us think it was the Three Stars come down in the form of wolves (which would’ve been interesting) but now I see there are more than 3 wolves in the pack - so that theory is out, but more questions come to mind! Like; Will we get to see Andy’s missing scene that summoned the wolves? Did he speak to the stars? What will be Eve’s price? When does Loss get trapped in a ring? The end of the chapter is so close toooo uuhhgggg

Roolabea

Ohhhhhh this is unfortunate, I knew something was going to happen given how he was acting when he "blessed" them, I figured it was going to be some kind of sacrificial ritual to bring down the stars or something but I wasn't expecting wolves. Also Usma's expression is heartbreaking, I'm sure she's having a time watching this and possibly remembering what happened to her blood family, poor baby.

IrisBdz

Damn there's no way they will survive such height, but I guess that's better than wolves eating them alive. So unfortunate, I wonder if Antaras feels like this is revenge or he's just doing it as a ritual. I love the expression of Ame, knowing they will die because Antaras

PhiPhi

oh no it's not "if" anymore. It's "because" now "This is what happens now BECAUSE you didn't listen to me AND mocked me. Now my family is dead, and it's your fault. This is my payback."

PhiPhi

No. Thats a glare through and through. It's a "Yes, I did this. And yes, this is exactly what you think it is. Goodbye" Only looks like a smirk because that's just how an animal snout looks from up front

JKurv

I'm wondering if he simply found the pack and said "yo I will lead you to the whole herd at a bottleneck so you can feast - all I ask in return is that you don't touch me or the white doe without a blood spot on her head." I half expect that he didn't plan for the herd to panic into cliff diving. I'm sure Ame is gonna be lunch though.
