I got a feeling that seeing Boneslav's sendoff has Runi thinking back to how she and Nero left their herd.

So his mother wasn't just being metaphorical with "Take care of your heart, Boneslav. It's so very dear to us." (I loved that line, so poetic. But so many lines in this comic are <3) Bone's little annoyed expression in the fifth panel <3 Runi's probably been reminded of how they left their own herd, and/or being sad that they're making other deer leave theirs. Love the lil' squirrel at the foreground of the bottom panel.
