The Z Fold7 really is that girl.

The Next Waypoint

LOL I thought I was the only one that was a serial phone dropper.

I noticed you didn't touch on Samsung's variant of Android. Is it just because that is such a tired discussion? At this point? I was a Nexus and Pixel guy because of the clean UX and I don't think I would be able to leave the Pixel, even though Samsung often has nicer hardware.

I just had to pause when you were lamenting not using a screen protector from the get-go in order to say it may not be too late! Some of the better tempered glass protectors have the side advantage of filling in and hiding smaller nicks on the screen. It's not something they advertise but I've had visible scratches disappear after applying one.

I remember when I unfolded my first foldable smartphone. I totally agree with you. It's always a wow moment.

That wobble would kill me 😅 I'd get tempted to hack the cameras off again...

Cory Zanoni

Right there with ya (and I still refuse to use a case) 😅

Great vid. It's been a while since I've paid any attention to foldables but I can see the appeal. Alas: I'm probably one of three people in the world who yearns for the Surface Duo form factor.

Becca Farsace

yeah, i really went back and forth on if I should dive into software. I actually don't love Samsungs stock android. Like it's fine... but man oh man the Pixel and Material 3 Expressive is just GORG.

Are there things that Samsung does better than Pixel, or vice-versa, in how they handle foldables specifically?

Came here to write this very comment! I am not a fan of the ripple in the screen inside the fold. The Surface Duo ignored it completely. Wish the hardware was better. That’s the only phone I had considered switching from iPhones to.

I want to spend less time on my phone and have the phone get out of the way. Give me a 16:9 phone that folds in half like the new Razr phone. Wish the new iPhone Air could fold into half.
