halsa

lets gooooo

AutumnOnFire

How is Bill always in financial trouble?? Get your money up Bill!

Tejiri Ubiedi

Alicent and Daemon in a goofy-off, sadly.

Tejiri Ubiedi

Daemon *really* gotta start being more specific 💀

Carlos

My man Daemon doesn't have the war crime juice this season. Both his war crimes have backfired on him. Smh.

Pedro Lopez

Not the old dude on the castle lookin like Biden 🤣🤣💀

Tejiri Ubiedi

Alicent really thought the council of niggas that specifically started all this to prevent a woman being on the throne was gonna let her rule again. She's the Omni Goofy 💀

Carlos

Daemon stuck roleplaying Luigi's Mansion this season

PJ Rivera

The “dragons are meat line” is going to come into play as the common people now see the dragons aren’t invincible. Book readers if you know you know

Carlos

Larys needs to take her foot measurements and get her some clown shoes

Kale

I hate to be that guy but I don’t understand how people thought aegons dragon “exploded” when it landed when we literally see what a dragon exploding actually looks like in the same episode and it didn’t look like the light gust of wind when aegons dragon hit the ground (We also saw his dragon still alive at the end of last ep so idk how one would explode yet still be alive minutes later 😭)

Jamaal Ellison

I'm really annoyed with this women being forced to be unwilling participants in this war narrative that's being portrayed. If the men just got outta the way the women could end things. 🤢🤮

LaTesha

That was a bad move if Otto was there he would have never paraded meleys head. Now the people know dragons and Targaryens are not gods. They are closer to men then they believe 😐

Jamaal Ellison

Hotd fans last season: oh boy we really like that Daemon guy. Hotd showrunner and writers: oh yeah motherfuckers? Is that right well we'll show you.

slackoff

daemon was always trash 😭

Jamaal Ellison

Well when Sunfyre hit the ground there were flames in the forest on impact and a plume of smoke. Also the crash site was on fire. So i could understand how people would think that.

Derick

we've been seeing this guy and his family a lot about the king's payment I wonder if he is a Targaryen.

Jamaal Ellison

He was, if you've been actually paying attention. But people were looking at his relationship with Rhaenyra as some fucked up Twilight, Vampire, Diaries, star-crossed lovers bullshit. To the point where the writers and showrunner had to speak out about it. Questioning how anyone could find his character likeable.

Jamaal Ellison

The foods pretty rotten maybe that's why his kid is sick.

DJ Muldrow

This hella off topic but why is someone that’s watching the avatar reactions NOW tryna humble me in the comments 😭 nigga called me a lil man

LaTesha

Just a tip daemon mother dies when he was like 3 so he wouldn't recognize her at first in his fever sex dream 😂.

Tejiri Ubiedi

To be real, the dragon head showed everyone dragons can be killed. Including the one guarding their city.

von

And it’s to the point they changed a lot of the characterizations and taken brilliant moments and thoughts away from other characters just to give it to the female ones

Rayn

They have

Jamaal Ellison

Yo they put cabbage leaves on Aegon's burns.😭 one thing I really liked about the scene where Aegon is being placed in the bed one obviously he looked like Viserys but also if I'm not mistaken they had similar music playing like during Viserys's final scene walking in the throne room up the stairs to the iron throne.

Alexis Sullivan

The entire basis of this war is that they did not want Rhaenyra to rule because she's woman. Alicent delusion ass really thought that if she held tightly to sexism and misogyny it would overlook her. No boo boo, you a woman too. You ain't exempt, you aint special. She got bit by the same sexism bug that she helped bite Rhaenyra with.

Mufid Lassissi

So now we can’t like bad people. I hate fans like you. Policing people’s enjoyment. Fucking losee

Jamaal Ellison

If you're referring to me, I don't think I said that.

Austin Police

I love Daemon because he's an amazing character and really nothing to do with his relationship with Rhaenyra. Really weird to say that you question how people like him.

JuancaMX

like what? no book spoilers, i've read them but i only want to know what have they changed from the books so far.

nicholazsyx

bill’s actor try not to play a struggling father living in the slums challenge

Jamaal Ellison

I'm referring to people being angry that he choked Rhaenyra as if, it was out of character of him to do that because they're each other's soul mate. I like Daemon but I see what kind of character the show wants to portray him as, and they don't see in him what the Fandom sees in him. For example when his second wife died there's footage of him consoling his daughters who had just lost their mother, in the actual episode he's seen walking away after telling them and just leaving them alone. In the books he says a son for a son wanting revenge for Rhaenyra's loss, in the show they've made it about him.

Derick

Also the books are a telling of how it happened from other people point of views so it's not 100% accurate. But George RR Martin says the show is actually what happened.

BigAL96_

24:20 I Knew it😂😂😂

Jamaal Ellison

Well the showrunner has stated that the terrible things Rhaenyra is known for in the books are green propaganda written by Rhaenyra detractors. I personally don't know how much will be changed, but I hope some the things she does and happens to her won't be.

bark

Bro your house sigil is literally a dragon, why you parading a dead dragon around the city it just makes you look weak

Omar

Yeah, Daemon hallucinating about his mom in Harrenhal really was the last straw. I hate this place. Fuck this whole plot thread. Burn it along with Aegon.

LaTesha

Corlys better get over his pity party. You and lord Otto were ambitious. You both gambled. You won some and you lost some. If you don't want to be so involved then you should have stopped trying to marry into the royal family.

John PAUL

The blackwoods and brakens two of the larger houses in the riverlands, and they can have larger armys than the tullys army in their land

Guav

the next episode preview got me hype af

LaTesha

The daemon harrenhal memes are hilarious

Kingmakaii

1 I’ll never fell bad for agon ever after seeing what he do in the show and hearing how he is in the book suffer lil nigga 2 if you wanna know how he survived his dragon turned while they was in the air falling it made it so he was on its stomach when they hit the ground it took 90% of the damage from the fall 3 the way Allison looked when they basically said bitch we ain’t putting no woman on the throne that’s what this whole war about if we ion want her on the throne why tf would we want you 😂

RF

The book is written as if it was a fictional history book. One thing GRRM does with his world lore is that there are very few exact and truthful answers to anything. Even when someone asks him in real life directly a question he answers by saying something like "well this one guy thought it was x, but also if that was true, than you have to think about what that means for y." The book itself has contradictions in different accounts as to who says what happened. Or also "this one guy wrote down that it happened this way. But this other guy over there wrote down that it happened this way. 80 years later a third dude does his own research and thinks it was instead this other way." As a non spoiler example, when Rhae's son went to get support to the north there is one account that says that he and the lord stark got along very well and went out hunt a lot. Another says that he secretly married Stark's sister out of love like Robb did in the show. But another acount says there is no evidence that the sister existed. So the show could've just adapted it with or without the stark romance subplot.

Drake Chuckle

I am okay with Bill being typecast in this style of role, cause it's hilarious.

John PAUL

Daemons father dragon was vhagar and mothers dragon Meleys

Metweet .c

The books are written in the perspectives of people who were never in the room for all these events so it's all word of mouth and written by people who hate team black. And some of these people's accounts are just plane crazy and written years after. And its basically written as high-school gossip especially for the female character were Rhaenyra is written as a fat bitter woman jealous of alicents slender body. So I would ignore the raging book lovers since they've completely forgotten that George himself has said this show I'd the confirmed accounts. Hell one of the writers is a court jester who said he fucked Rhaenyra so take it with a grain of salt. Even the witch tormenting daemon, in the books it's said that she didn't affect him in harrenhall and it dosent delve into his experience, but it's not like daemon is gonna walk around telling people he was being haunted. Game of thrones books, we have the characters inner thoughts and motivations. House of the dragon is like history books of today. He said, she said type of ish

Fred_D3

George came out just last week to say that the show & book are 2 seperate canons. For obvious reasons. like Alicent & Rhaenyra being the same age..in the book she’s an older woman viserys chose to marry The existence of maelor aegon II 2nd son Alicent & Cole fucking, this clearly didn’t happen because she was tied up in the room while blood & cheese took place however Ryan condall & sara Hess wna make her out to be a lusty hypocrite who supports misogyny & not a loving mother who wants to see actual Targaryens ascend the throne & not strongs

Adrian Locke

Vhagar is the GOT equivalent of an AC-130 in old COD

A. P.

Mf probably gambling again lol

Adrian Locke

When Sunfyre hit the ground, there was a big ass plume of fire that came up through the trees on impact

Metweet .c

I get that but still the books are not a singular outlining of events. We actually don't know these characters personalities if we go off the book since one event can have like 3 different accounts. Which is why everyone has their own ideas of these characters, like you with alicent. For me the alicent that I read was basically a one note evil stepmother. I like that she show changed her age and actual made her rhaenyra the same age.

Fred_D3

The books are written from the perspective of 3 different third parties. Ppl wna pass off the show as the true canon instead of using context clues in the books to determine the truth probably because they’re lazy

Kale

Smoke could easily be dirt honestly and either way smoke≠explosion 😭 an explosion is homegirls dragon, there even was the clear intent of sunfyre flipping over to his belly and putting his wings out to slow the fall🤷‍♂️

Danger Tomato

Yeah I'm sure season 3 will be good

A. P.

I feel like we bout to see Big Bill ride a dragon soon cause otherwise idk why they keep showing bro struggle like this. He don't even know his great great great x1000 grandson bout to emigrate to San Francisco develop a gambling problem and damn near lose his whole family lol

Mad4Life

We've gone from pranks to a whole circus act now.

Lash

In the book team green is way worse especially alicent. Team black had a lot of support from the other houses, the problem was bad planning and Vaghar.

yasmin

vermithor and silverwing are the 2nd and 3rd largest dragons after vhagar, i really hope we get to see them soon

BONE

In the books it’s way more equal there writing daemon more bad just cause the producer doesn’t like him Half ts isn’t even in the books and alicent is legit a side character in the books this whole green vs black shit is ehhhh but never specified either

DJ Muldrow

Also with the ending they’re saying they’re putting bastards and cousins on the backs of dragons not just “full blooded” targaryens

Jigga Man

Imagine if Baela claimed Vhagar after her mom died. This would not even be a thing right now. Dragons would be seen in GOT.

Jigga Man

What is bro on about lol

mari

alicent irritates me so much like girl you literally helped to usurp a woman and now you’re surprised that the council won’t put you as regent?? make it make sense

Dannyboy

In the book it's pretty clear the greens were in the wrong and way worse of ppl. The blacks had some bad peeps as well, most notably Daemon, but it's pretty clear all the bad shit they do is in retaliation from what the greens pull. It was a bizarre choice for the marketing to paint it as like "pick your side!" When even in the show the greens are noticeably worse.

Jigga Man

Roshi, the books are written from the perspective of a Maester whose in the verse. The show is supposed to be an ACTUAL display of what happened so that's why people are warring

Jazz Rivers

Rhaenyra gonna have to make an example out of Sir Alfred bro there’s only so many times you can let a nigga test your might like this lol Buddy been playin in her face all fuckin season.

Jigga Man

And Vermithor is the dragon Daemond was seen singing to last season. Dude is massive, like probably way bigger than Maelys. Definitely bigger than Caraxes based on Daemon's perspective. That thing needs to be claimed. Rhaena needs to come back into the frey.

$am

Ok so the book is an account from unreliable narrators. However, George has come out just recently to say that there’s book canon & show canon because of some changes to his lore in the show that he didn’t like. All in all, the show is pretty strong, not perfect tho. The show clearly favors Rhaenyra’s faction to its own detriment. Like after Rhaenys killed innocent smallfolk w/ her dragon, the repercussions for that are never felt or addressed & she suddenly became this wise sage that’s all for peace even tho she was the first to spill blood.

InfamousD

just noticed the guy with the sick daughter is bill from warriors

$am

Book readers correct me if I’m wrong. With the exception of Daemon & Rhaenys, Aemond is the most skilled dragon rider in all of Westeros

$am

With the exception of Daemon & Rhaenys, Aemond is the most skilled dragon rider in all of Westeros. It’s been a while since I read the books, so book readers correct me if I’m wrong.

Jnutt913

Because Vhagar is a dragon of war, she basically moves on instinct when fighting. Aemond is basically a non factor in these fights and Vhagar basically carried him against a more experienced enemy. If she had a Rhaenys level rider, Vhagar would basically be unbeatable.

GhoulEx

People always ask why would you support house green? Supporting house green is like boxing with plot armor, everybody on the greens aren't likeable or are pieces of shit, and therein is what makes supporting the greens more interesting and showcases the deeper nuance of the show. The greens feel like underdogs from the framing of the show as they are figuratively fighting with the essence of the plot, as the audience are poised deteste them. As show goes on I wonder if people will find empathy for the greens, disassociate from the blacks or not support either sides. I'm sure book readers can understand were I'm coming from.

Robert L

Not really. Daemon is doing crazy war crimes right now. The Valereons are starving the smallfolk in kings landinfg with a blockade

Tejiri Ubiedi

Lupa too busy making his jokes to see the obvious 💀 nothing new tho

Sham3ful

The L in Alicent has been growing like crazy

Kwame James

Just a heads up yall missed the main reasons Alicent can't rule there whole thing is the ruler should be male if they put alicent in charge people will say it should be Rhaenyra she is Targaryen and picked by the king

JJ
>>143751165

no hes not. Daemon, Rhaenys, and Rhaenyra are leagues ahead of him. Rhaenyra has been riding dragons since 6 yrs old.

Requiem_Phantom

Don't forget that Vhagar is so old that she practically has dragon dementia lol.

cheezeblade

I am sort of confused. Baela said rheanys claiming meleys pissed off her dad. But her dad is daemon. And she said meleys was her mother’s dragon but her mother was laena and laena had vhagar? Can someone clarify? I’ve listened to it ten times.

Chanceg983

Meleys was Daemon’s mother dragon and Daemon’s dad rode Vhagar. Meleys refused Daemon and chose Rhaenys

Chanceg983

Alicent in the books is more of a wicked stepmother who wants to put her son on the throne. The show made her too passive to the people around her

vesra

If I were Rhaenyra I would just try to jump Vhagar. Make it 6 on 1 cuz I know Helaena is not about to hop on her dragon and go to war.

Cami

considering the entire theme of the show is misogyny (i.e. literally causing a war because people didn't want a woman to rule), it's nice to have episodes like this once in a while to remind people lol also, i always love the rhaenyra and alicent parallels because, at the end of the day, they are going through the same thing. alicent ruled in viserys'' absence and ruled well, but she is easily be overlooked because she is a woman; rhaenyra is not even allowed to rule without the men at her council doubting her, and she's the rightful heir :/

$am

7 years old actually. I disagree w/ the age=skill argument for dragon riding as Daemon is still considered one of the best dragon riders in the Targaryen dynasty by the fanbase alongside characters like Aegon the conqueror & Maegor the cruel. Rhaenys has had Meleys longer than Daemon has had Caraxes but I think it all boils down to battle experience w/ dragons which Aemond has in spades over Rhaenyra right now

CentipedeKid

They only have 3 riders right now. I don't think any of them are battle hardened and we saw what happens when a non battle ready dragon tries to go up against Meema Vhaegar.

VoyagerSpaceProbe

I don't mind it tbh, GoT was lacking with the old gods magic since the the writers weren't fans of magic in the show. It's nice to see it in full force in HOTD as it should be, especially in a place like Harrenhal, with the Isle of Faces and Alys Rivers witch fuckery.

Arsean Wilbon

Meleys is Daemons Moms dragon, Daemon was mad that his cousin Rhaenys was chosen by Meleys and not him when he attempted to claim it thinking she would accept him because he is the son to her former rider.

Aniki Pft

I'm very confused, why is Sheera blaming Alicent for Aegon going there? Calling her a terrible mother like most of them knew Aegon would appear on the battlefield and be collateral Damage. Yeah alot of people don't fw Alicent but no one thought he dumbass would drink and drive his way there on his dragon.

CentipedeKid

Rhaenyra said it herself she wasn't prepared for war and doesn't know how to fight. So to put her above someone that's studied the art of war.

CentipedeKid

The Greens have been significantly better for the realm as a whole

Arsean Wilbon

Hopefully we get to see some silverwing and Verm closeshots. They are some beasts!

Chris Kringle

“Can I have 3 drugs and 2 sex please”😭💀

Luna Mé

I mean... Alicent isn't a great mother either. She has a lot on her plate, so i'll cut her some slack, but she pretty much told Aegon that he was useless. Most kids would react badly to that. Aegon never chose to be heir/king to the throne. He ended up there because of Alicent and Otto's schemes. Aegon isn't a saint. He is to blame for many things that happened to him, but he still has immense pressure on his shoulders. When he saw how powerless he was in front of his council, the least he expected was for his mother to guide him, but she condemned him instead. Him joining the battlefield was dumb af, but the truth is too many kids would actually do the same if in his shoes. In the books, Alicent is even worse then she is now.

Aniki Pft

Despite Alicent and Otto Schemes I still don't think that's enough to say she's genuinely a terrible mother. Aegon's child died so I'm sure it's difficult to maintain himself and yes being king comes with alot of pressure, but all of his actions after made things much harder for himself and those around him hence why Alicent said what she said to him. I'm not going far back because I'm talking about this situation. I was simply confused as to why we're blaming Alicent for him diving into the battlefield.

Nick Hatcher

In the books they set both houses up as being kinda terrible because it doesn't really do perspectives the way the tv show does. All the terrible things that people say/think Rhaenyra does like the killing of the kid isn't shown explicitly to not be her doing/fault. The TV show is definitely changing that aspect of the story to make you feel more for the Blacks which makes since from a show perspective because people have problems with shows without a clear person to go for

BentStraw

Alicent is a terrible mother who is never their for her kids. If Alicent actually was a parent to some degree her kids including Aegon might of ended up more well rounded. Aemond has a mommy kink. Aegon everytime he tries to get his mom to console him she just leaves and ignores him.

Kevin Fernández

That's just sounds cope, he said the book and show are 2 different cannons, I just think He doesn't have the balls to just say what really happen so people don't use the excuse that third parties wrote the script for everything that happens in the show.

Luna Mé

You're right, Aegon is at fault for what happened to him and I don't mean to say Alicent is terrible or at fault here. But she's still part of the problem. I think she genuinely wants the best for her kids, but she also projects a lot onto them especially Aegon. Just like how she was forced into a position she didn't want and suffered in the process, she expects Aegon to endure the same since everybody went through it which is kinda unfair. She could've given the throne to Rhaenyra, but she didn't and preferred to make her kids pay the price for her decision (although, we could argue that it was the best choice to protect them though). Given the context, I don't think Alicent is a terrible mother, but she ain't great either...

BentStraw

Stop basing it entirely off the books. They are literally biased tellings from unreliable sources.

BentStraw

The books are told from unreliable biased sources.

De'Joun Redden

Alicent whether book or show is called a terrible mother primarily because she shows no motherly relationship with her children. Helaena in the books is different, but for Aegon and Aemond she doesn't provide the motherly love that both needed which had a direct impact on how they are currently. Aegon while people always planned for him to be king, was never raised to be a king. Aemond clearly has mother issues stemming from a lack of motherly love.

Aniki Pft

@Luna Mé Thank you for putting things into perspective for me. I never really liked the blame game when it came to situations like these. ". Just like how she was forced into a position she didn't want and suffered in the process, she expects Aegon to endure the same since everybody went through it which is kinda unfair." You are 100% right about this.

Jamaal Ellison

Yeah all this Aegon's prophecy song of ice and fire bullshit is a show creation. It's sole reason for being in the show is to connect House of The Dragon with Game of Thrones. But it also conveniently makes Rhaenyra's reasoning wanting to be queen more noble than they are in the books. Instead of it being about a rich and powerful family beefing over the succession rights inthe show it's to prevent the freaking apocalypse.

Balenseeks

Im not mad at the Green Council choosing Aemond over Alicient. She out here selling feet and fucking the QueensGuard of course they wouldnt take her seriously even if she's right about Aemond

Luna Mé

no problem, you made good points too💯

Jonathan Sessoms

Aye all gotta say the book are different from the show and yes the characters as well. To the point the show is still good and to me is doing well with certain adaptations they are doing

Luna Mé

@CapnHook yeahh, the fact that Aemond seeks motherly love from a, excuse my language, ''common whore'' is unsettling. It says a lot about Alicent's parenting style. But to be fair, she grew up without her own mother and was raised by a deranged and manipulative father. She had to harden herself over the years to survive the bs, she doesn't know how to be loving and all.

Luna Mé

I don't think they know about Alicent and Cole and if they do, it doesn't really matter (at least I think lol). Aemond did things far worse like killing Luke (which sped up the war) and injuring Aegon (on purpose). He is smart, but impulsive and only 16. He's basically a young Deamon which is terrible! The council chose him 100% due to their bias towards women. It could also have been an early display of loyalty since Aemond would be next in line if Aegon were to die. Either way, I don't care, choosing Aemond will cause more drama and i'm here for it😏

John Cedar
>>143762458

None of that had anything to do with their decision but ok lmao, all you've really told us is what's on your mind when it comes to Allicent. Like did you forget the king is a rapist? That Aemond is a kinslayer? Or that Larys and Allicent conspired to burn his family alive? The ratcatchers and the starving peasants? They don't care about morality, only optics 😂 Their entire claim to the throne is based on the premise of a woman being unable to do it, so of course they cannot have a woman be the regent.

asahinspiration

The book is 3 conflicting accounts from different people in the court. Big events are supposed to be generally correct but details like motivations or who ordered particular atrocities aren’t necessarily correct due to bias of the sources and them simply not knowing the truth because they weren’t there. I agree, it’s pretty easy to be on Rhaenyra’s side at this point. The best hope for Alicent is for me to just not like either of them

Johnquez

I think the chick at Harhenhal is spiking Daemon with Weirwood paste, that’s the stuff Bloodraven gave Bran in the cave. It causes visions and hallucinations if I’m not mistaken. And I’m pretty sure she has connections to the first men, so she might be magically inclined. She speculated to be a witch in the books so.🤷🏾‍♂️

Co

Midnight? That's cute. Try 4 AM (hour of the wolf).

T.J.Adams

The book makes heavy use of unreliable narrators. Things like the kidnapping and slaughter of children in the riverlands is attributed to Rhaenyra herself. Essentially what the show is doing in it's adaptation is showing us what really happened during this conflict by removing the fog of only having a single percpective or point of view on any given event.

SecondChances96

The books aren't actually "books", it's more of a "Silmarillon" type thing with it being a historian's account of past events, think a history textbook with more artful prose. So, no, neither side is really painted as the bad guys or good guys, although the narrator's biases does factor in to some things and people argue whether or not some events aren't faithfully told because of that (victor writes the history and all that).

Tabbs

Alicent being mad because nobody wants to join in her hypocrisy is golden

drake is cleverer than kendrick headass

A terrible mom? Her fault? What the fuck was Allicent supposed to do to stop Aegons dumbass from flying out? She explicitly told him to do nothing in the very last episode, he did that to himself.

Ghost
>>143771198

She definitely is a terrible mother😂😂😂instead of teaching her son how to be a king or to rule, like shes stated many times that she has herself ruled, shed rather belittle him with insults because his understanding isn’t up to par. What can Aegon do when the whole council and his mother behind closed doors, are just TELLING him what to do. Barely listening, she definitely is a reason for him trying to prove himself endlessly. He still can make his own choices and is very arrogant, but to not also blame allicent is nasty work, she literally didn’t consul him when his son was murdered, I don’t even need to continue.

Christian Acosta
>>143771198

instead of being supportive she basically talked down to him and that resulted in him leaving. Yes, that’s what I would say to him, but she’s his mother. And if she had raised him correctly, he wouldn’t be the way he is to begin with.

drake is cleverer than kendrick headass
>>143771198

You cannot teach people that do not want to be taught. This entire season has demonstrated that her voice is constantly undermined because she is a woman. She asks her father, the previous hand, to support her during the Small Council meetings because it is apparent Aegon and Aemon do not respect her enough because she is female. She states this almost explicitly. 'What can Aegon do when the whole council and his mother behind closed doors' We have not been watching the same show. The council DO NOT listen to her, the entire theme is based around sexism. They refused Rhaenyra BECAUSE she is a woman, what are you talking about? Aegon is a fool of his own making. No one respects him because he has defined his life with debauchery. He realised this in the last two episodes as he starts to become ashamed of the company he keeps realising that his status of King is meaningless as no one takes his council seriously - this dumbass appointed Criston Cole as hand out of SPITE. All of Aegons woes up till this point have been a product of his own making. He raped a serving girl which cemented a pattern of behaviour causing his own mother to despise his character, he fired his Grandfather (the wisest man in his ear) because he dared to tell him the truth about himself, his voice is not respected because he appointed his drinking buddies as White Cloaks, he mocked his brother in a vulnerable moment which ultimately led to Aemon making an attempt on his life grievously wounding him, and he flew out DRUNK to join a battle he had no place in participating in. Rewatch the whole series my guy, you have not been keeping up.

drake is cleverer than kendrick headass
>>143771198

She told him what he needed to hear. He has no experience and no wisdom, why the fuck would his input be relevant in war? Have you not been listening to what he's been saying this whole time? Little and less of relevance. She gave him the advice every mother in this situation would have - be silent and learn from your better. However, his ego can't handle tough love, which is why he fired his Grandfather. Yall need to stop blaming mothers for their children becoming fuck ups. There are too many external factors that contribute to how a child is raised. This is a kid that grew up in the lap of luxury with almost all the powers of and indulgences the realm could offer. He is the crystallisation of privilege with no accountability. How you turn out will always be a dice roll under those circumstances

Yehaen

Remember that the books are written in universe by people who had their own biases and did not like certain people. So they were more willing to speak shit about them and outright lie about events

kezzep

Ser Alfreds point is valid though. His reasoning isnt just "you are a woman so you dont know war and tactics" its "you are a woman so you were never taught any of that growing up". It is true that Rhaenyra never had that kind of education

kezzep

Also yall seem to misunderstand something. Vhagar DOES listen to Aemond. When Vhagar killed Luke, that was simply because the little Dragon pissed him off. That Dragon is old as fuck and very big, he wasnt gonna let that slide lol

lackingnames

Starting a war of succession and usurping the throne while placing a known drunk/rapist as their King is "significantly better for the realm"? What in the fuck are you smoking my guy, you dumb as dumb can be.

Colin Donnelly

Don’t forget Jace is a bastard of Harwin strong. So if Jace is able to be a dragon lord who’s to say other Targaryen bastards can’t.

Saynt Michael

Parading Melyes' head through King's Landing was the stupidest idea they've head yet. It's a Targaryen Civil War, if the Greens can kill the Black's Dragons, then the Black's can kill the Green's.

Bria A.

I used to go on ASOIAF Wiki spirals when I was younger because I could never get through the books, and Alys Rivers (witch girl)…we’re in for a ride, I’m scared of her lmao

ChrisM

I’m so over this Harennhal saga. Pls let next week be the end of it. It’s the worst part of the show. I found myself skipping past parts of it

ChrisM
>>143771198

If you don’t see her as a terrible mother then idk what to tell you yes Aegons dumb ass should’ve stayed in the castle, but going back to season one, she was on bullshit

William Tippen

Let’s not skip past the fact that the beef between the 2 leading women are the reason we are here…

OceanPhantom

I’ve been wondering why we followed that blacksmith but I noticed his hair is white this time I think any randos we see might be dragon seeds

Zach

Yall have to watch no loner allowed in another world. I havent laughed this much since prison school

Red Death

Three more episodes to show me something

Adley

The show actually has fans split more than the books. The characters are all way worse in the books. At the end of the day there is no way to make the greens not look like assholes for going against the King's orders for his daughter to succeed him. The book greens are almost cartoonishly evil while the book blacks are a hot mess with their internal drama. There were so many changes from the events of the book that the author recently said the show canon and book Canon are two different things. Either way I'm for team black because Viserys made his wishes clear and the majority of Westeros declared for Rhaenyra so the Kingdom would have had peace. Otto would not have fought this hard for a boy to be named King if that boy didn't have his blood.

OceanPhantom

I also want to see how big darion (Alicents last son) dragon is

OceanPhantom

The show is its own cannon but to answer the question the books make alicent the clear villain the show is ironically trying to make it grey but they also want ppl who don’t know the history to see rhay as dany 2.0 she has been completely rewritten they even removed characters that would make her look worse. Because of This decision they made alicent and the greens look much less grey than they originally intended although rhay is for sure dany so they got half of what they wanted. The two things they want conflict so we end up with a less grey show but rhay is seen in a very great light all her mistakes are sympathized with. Spoiler I wouldn’t be surprised if the show changes the ending completely since she is getting such great feedback

Jovaan Moyo

I think we're just being shown him so we have an example of the smallfolk suffering. Its possible he'll have a larger role in the story though

Jovaan Moyo

The book is told from different third party perspectives and EVERYONE is way more diabolical in the books. The Team Black V.S. Team Green arguement is more about who would rule better, not who's the better people quality wise.

Seraph_Dalgon_

ngl, Alicent having the audacity to say Aemond "somehow" turned into who is lowkey pissed me off. As if she and Viserys weren't anything short of no-shows in his formative years. Man literally turns to an older prostitute for a sense of motherly affection cuz Alicent's petty ass never gave any.

Fizzy 🐉

Yeah my boi daemon needs to leave that ghost castle bro dreaming about smashing his mum I don’t wanna known what else he would be dreaming about

Fizzy 🐉

She actually just braindead 🤣🤣🤣

Tejiri Ubiedi

He already fucked, married, and thrice impregnated his niece that he's known since she was born. The castle isn't the problem. 💀

Tejiri Ubiedi
>>143771198

Nah bro she been a shit mother from word go. They literally show her not giving a fuck about her kids with the younger actress from season 1, right after she had them. None of her kids like her, she showed no genuine love or care to the point aegon ended up how he is, Aemond ended up how HE is and turns to a literal prostitute for motherly affection instead of his own mother. Immediately after the death of her daughters son, she starts trying to ask her about whether she realized her and cole were fucking. She's actually awful. But you a drake fan so critical thinking ain't your strong suit. 💀

Divinerights

She was a young mother, and a young reigning queen and her husband was dying and gross. Team Black, but she is a victim too and would not be fit to shape heirs.

Tejiri Ubiedi

She said Meleys was Daemons mother's dragon.

Mr. Glasses

Nah. Sheera's right. That woman talking to Daemon is a wholeass witch. She's giving off Melisandre vibes.

UNI

Ah It is seems we forgot what started this war yet again..

Freeofgreed

The show 100% cleaned up the blacks side. In the books everyone is a POS.

Freeofgreed

Alicent is completely delulu. The whole reason they rebelled against Rhaynera was because she was a women. Why the hell would she think they would pick up her to lead? Especially when she has no legitimate claim, like Rhaynera and Aemond do. Also we finally get a reason for why we keep seeing that Targaryen bastard all the time.

UNI

Honestly at this point I might have to pick up the books after all this to have a completely different opinion on this whole mess of a war. I just hope once I do this isn't another writers acting like they can do a better job situation.

drake is cleverer than kendrick headass
>>143771198

She is far more complex than that. She had motherhood thrust upon her and forced into the role of the Kings extended royal cum dumpster., yet you want to victimise poor little Aemon and Aegon? She clearly showed a deep sense of compassion for them, she was willing to maim Rhaenyra in display of retribution for her Aemon. You are placing the burden of character not on the GROWN MEN, but on the woman who was essentially powerless to shape them before the desires of warped ambition. You can't judge her parenting by normal standards because these are exceptional circumstances. Aemond ended up how HE is because he has a single minded ambition to prove himself on account of how poorly he was treated by his siblings, he wants to prove he is better and thus covets power through retribution. Allicent is victim of circumstance, actively trying her best despite her powerlessness surrounded by freak fucking children. How am I a Drake fan, are you retarded?

Fizzy 🐉

The castle is literally stated to be haunted lol it defo the castle, proved by the witch lady

Dry Lyo

Daemon's naked mom was the best part of the episode, the only bad part is that we didn't get to see the nips

Narcissistic Humility

Exactly, this is where I disagreed with them. They cannot have a woman be the monarch when the main basis of the conflict is that the person that the previous king selected as their heir for decades is a woman. And obviously, you have the issue with the claim to the throne as well.

Narcissistic Humility
>>143771198

She told him to do nothing as an insult lol. She said "do what's needed of you...nothing." Basically implying that he is useless and nobody needs anything from him. Whilst it's true, she could have said it in a less brutal way. The whole conversation was her deriding him and she raised her kids fearful of Rhaenyra. She did not even console him that much after his toddler son died. She is clearly not a supportive mother.

ChrisM

Freaky ass nigga

drake is cleverer than kendrick headass
>>143771198

You have to be mentally deficient. She, in the very same conversation, urged him to learn from his betters stating that all the others of the small council earned their place, while he was merely placed there. They are in the midst of a war with their lives on the line, the costs have already been dire with both sides having lost children to the throne - there is no room to coddle a grown fucking man. Aegon has gone his entire life with no responsibility, earning nothing, and progressing in nothing but debauched acts - there is no room for his idiot suggestions in the small council, there is no room for his inexperience. If he had something worth saying the ENTIRE wouldn't view him as weak. Frankly, if I was the father to a man that raped serving girls with no remorse I would be hesitant to show kindness, Aegon is a product of his station - excess without consequence.

PetersThimble

Alicents dumbass really believed that they would really let her rule when she held up a system that places men at the forefront. It’s her own damn fault, I don’t feel shit for her

sotonye ogan

be making jokes then gets dumbfounded at something when his ass not been paying attention LMAO.

SnailSpray

in the beginning when they were debating what to do and how to move forward and they shot down rhaenyras proposal to fly to kings landing herself and she asked "what would you have me do" its a parallel to aegon last episode when they answered that question with "nothing"

Tejiri Ubiedi

"Nigga what the fuck happened" 💀

Tejiri Ubiedi
>>143771198

You talking about about not wanting to show kindness to fucked up kids as if Alicent and Vicerys didn't raise them up all the way to that point to begin with. How did they get that fucked up, all three of them (less so Helaena, she's alright but still doesn't like alicent). And as we saw, her eagerness to use violence on Rhaenyra wasn't even about defending Aemon (the way I see it anyway) it was about punishing Rhaenyra for yet another slight in a long line of transgressions she has associated with her. She basically admits as much as they're grappling with each other before she cuts rhaenyra.

sotonye ogan

Seems like you niggas really blocked yall memory of Daemon killing his first wife when she was minding her business. the only thing to remember was him choking Rhaenyra but yall was like " no Daemon this isn't you 🥺". trying to put him in the "anti-hero" role so bad when he just a simple bad dude lol.

Jamaal Ellison

Beat her face in with a fucking rock after paralyzing her!!! People saw this and was like oh, Daemon you scamp, what are we ever going to do with you?! He's an antihero so I fuck with him. but let's not ignore what he is.

sotonye ogan

Alicent highlight reels has been popping pussy and feet onlyfans but what really pissed me off is that she was bemused that larys and cole weren't rooting for her cuz of those two things for them, bitch you better stay your lane and be popping. all in all Aemond been the mvp this season so far.

Drake Rage

43:45 So... Season 1 Episode 8: #Vaemond was Right #Rhaenyra brought RUIN to House Velaryon LMAO.

von

I’m starting to hate these changes. They’ve drastically changed Female characters while dialing up the negative traits of the male characters or out right stripping them of their Character (Tyland chief among them) and I don’t wanna be that guy but I’m finding it to be stupid Feminist Pandering. Rather than adapting the story.

Loshmitty

? it has been this way from the start most men never approved her which is why the story is even happening.

von

No it hasn’t they made Rhaenyra out to be some sort of Saint who wants to stop everything even if it means giving up her throne and that’s not her character. She was all for war as soon as Luke died and was on DT, and I don’t want to spoil anyone but let’s say she isn’t kindest of people. They’ve also given some of the wiser choices to her or Jace when in reality it was Daemon who made them. Daemon was named protector of the realm instead of her as traditionally the ruler has because Rhaenyra was well aware of the fact that as a woman she is not a warrior. They’re trying wayy to hard to Make Daemon and Aemond the Same person with this mommy issues shit. and Daemon had significantly less trouble taming the riverlands than this. Tyland in terms of intelligence is that nigga, they made him a fool who fights with children during council meetings. Alicent was a power hungry bitch who had to be convinced to bury Viserys because she left his body rotting in his chambers for over a week. They were nuanced characters and the story was great because nobody was a good guy, it was way too complex for that. But instead it’s saint Rhaenyra and poor alicent trying to stop the terrible war that all the men want to wage, etc etc etc. it’s annoying.

sotonye ogan

My question is wasn't Dany able to own three dragons or is it because they had no choice cuz she's the last targaeryen

Violet833

I believe Dany was a special case. She had a motherly bond with all 3 yes, but she only rode drogon. Maybe if drogon had died she could ride another but I believe you can only be bonded to ride with one.

Violet833

They made the greens a little better too. Alicent was a grown woman beefing with rhaenyra who was a child, they let viserys body rot for about a week I think before they told anyone.

Violet833

But when he was on her he said "no listen to me" like she might have felt his emotions yes but he didn't command her to do that. Same with Luke's dragon, it blew fire without his command. I just find it interesting is that he didn't mean to kill Luke and regretted it but was fully willing to kill aegon.

Violet833

Yea and she admitted that she didn't have that knowledge

Cam Kaneki

Why i feel like the common folk gonna try to eat the dragons...Bruh saw melyse head and was like its just meat and then the town folk get locked in and start screaming they hungry for meat?! (no book spoilers please just an observation)

Cinmnapple

Dany is an anomaly. She may be able to ride all three (in the books) but until the books finish we won’t know.

Cinmnapple

Not a spoiler but I wouldn’t be surprised bc the ppl of kings landing are famous for eating a mystery meat stew called a bowl of brown which often has like rats, pigeons or dog meat in it. Dragon probably a delicacy 😭

Saynt Michael

The book is a loose collection of rumors and second-hand accounts with no real characterization. The whole first season of HotD was one chapter. How can you clean up something that was never really detailed?

Cinmnapple

In the books Rhaenyra is still the named heir who is usurped by the greens but it’s pretty biased toward the greens side. Rhaenyra and Alicent are far more cruel and calculating. Daemon is actually less evil and more grey (aemond is abt the same) team black also has some really cool side characters but the show seems to have cut or changed some of them (rip book Sabitha Frey who was meant to be young and “fond of killing men and kissing women”)

Freeofgreed

Clean up, as in made them less evil than they appeared in the book... Which is objectively what happened. Have no idea what point you're trying to make.

Majin buussin

No matter the universe my boy Bill always getting caught up in some political shit.

Offw0rlder

Every time I saw Criston on screen I wanted to smack him like he got a baldie or sumn

UNI

if they change the ending they not only retcon the books but also early Game of thrones AS A WHOLE.

Kk

I will say give it time on which side is good and bad because it's like the joker said it only take one bad for someone to go from innocent to the joker. so, give it time season 4 I think is when you should make decision on what side

Happy Teferi

The fact that you guys keep saying Vaghar is not controlled is crazy, when he said "no Vaghar don't" he was just making fun of Luke and what he said to his dragon, he was not trying to stop Vaghar

Mr. Glasses

He did lose control of Vhagar. It's that way even in the book.

Violet833

He literally says no obey me and looked distraught when she killed him. It's alluding to what viserys said that they don't really control the dragons like that. She acted on her own and so did Luke's dragon.

juan vargas

In the books both sides suck. Alicent is Walmart Cersei (In the book she's the one that ordered the gates closed not Aemond) and Rhaneyra is the definition of "Angry Karen" to the 10nth degree. They're both extremely unlikable so it makes sense that they're both softened up for the show

Flippy

Vhagar got mad as shit when Luke's dragon attacked her but most of the time she's under control

Asterkampos

cuz he is still largely of Targaryen blood

A

Alicent is bad, but I mean she told Aegon not to do anything and he chose to become King Crashout. That's all on him and Aemond

Jacob Livingston

Roshi is the only one who actually knows what’s going on in anything they watch lol

Rajah Lockhart

Alicent is forever dumb for thinking she was gunna be Queen Regent lol

Tori

Living for Lupa's 'House Of The Dragon' variations 🤣🤣

Kingbrick

Just made me realize both aegon and rheanyra literally getting disrespected the same way and passed over, the fanbase downplays this but even daemon just disrespecting here as well.
