The dub cast for this movie was top tier.

BabyFoodChewer

They have a new movie out that I just saw called the boy and the Herron by the same studio studio ghibli

Rewatched it with you guys, and paid more attention and noticed a lot more things. The ending was just wtf though. F that old witch. And wtf @ her magic kiss. She solved everything by kissing everyone! Wth?

The Zany Spirit

Had a blast watching this stream. Came late to where she was already old, but glad I got to see what I missed through this Patreon VOD.

SinforGoblinJesusSlobadwhodiedforthosesins

This movie is a masterpiece! Some fun facts for you, Roshi: -The voice cast for this movie was stacked. The most notable being: --Christian Bale was Howl --Billy Crystal was Calcifer -The loop thing originated in this movie. Most recently, which the chat mentioned, Undead Unluck references it. The scene with Andy and Fuuko in the book where they talk about "what dying means to them" is VERY heavily inspired off that scene. -Yes. It's a loop. Chat is trolling you, but yes it's a loop.

Rak

Princess Mononoke gotta be next

Hollow Ghost

Ah! This is a gorgeous movie both artistically & Narratively!!

WillGlacier

Legit my favorite movie of all time

Lea Garrido

So glad you guys finally watched this! This has been one of my favorite Ghibli movies since I was a little girl! BUT! With that being said my absolute favorite (and the one I HIGHLY recommend yall watch) is Princess Mononoke!! If yall watched that it would be an absolute dream!

Isaac

Yo I don't mind live movie time. Hopefully they get recommended some anime movie gems like Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika and the like.

andrew

Studio gibli The nostalgia these movies give me are all so beautiful🥰, definitely watching the new movie they made and watch ponyo😎👌🔥

Okai

Omg yes i loved that movie

akikonyan

you should react to wolf children. i think it would be a really heart warming watch since you're both parents.

Vilicious

From what I remember dub Howl was voiced by Christian Bale.

A.

FYI, the film is based on a book so a lot of things are compressed for time but it's also a very different take on the story. SPOILER: In the book Sophie has 2 younger sisters, the scarecrow prince's true love is one, and Markl the apprentice is a teenager and falls in love with her other sister. Howl's secret identity isn't the bird man but Howell Jenkins, and he's originally a Welsh man from our world.

Vilicious

If ya'll are gonna continue the Studio Ghibli journey, please watch Princess Mononokue. Best Studio Ghibli movie!

mina

It was so much fun watching this with everyone!

mal

where can i watch the supernatural stream?

Sam

it still on twitch

mal

not for me it isn’t idk why tho

YaBoyRoshi

We didnt end up playing the game it was too laggy to stream. It will be recorded as a VOD. Again its the GAME, not the SHOW lol

SpookyGhost

The game ran like ass, so they skipped playing it.

mal

oh okay i gotcha. i knew it was the game i seen your tweet lmao i missed the stream so i was just asking. thanks for letting me know💯

Zephyrs

Such a fun stream!

zay

i just watched ponyo for the first time the other day its such a great movie

eles

more ghibli!!

Alexander S

This is my absolute favorite Ghibli movie. I think you guys would enjoy Princess Mononoke a lot too.

Jamie See

Was there for the stream. This was the first gibli I've ever watched and I absolutely loved it. Such an amazing movie.

EnragedFliqpy

I remember watching this movie for the first time and dying laughing when the witch of the wastes got microwaved in the palace lmao

Luna Mé

Omg I love love lovee this movie!

SupremeCai

Yoooo bless up I was hopin to catch the stream but couldnt. Appreciate the reup

poisonivybag

I have to admit, I absolutely love this movie but yes there are some things that don't make sense, mainly due to it being compressed 😅 This is my first time watching it in the English dub entirely and I have to say I just don't think that Christian Bale's voice suits Howl's character. The Japanese OG voice is much more youthful and suits his dramatic diva self lol. The deep voice just doesn't fit.

poisonivybag

Please do a poll for the next Ghibli movie!!!

Derek

sheera reading way too much into a story like this, theyll learn

AnnaSama

Two AMAZING studio ghibli films (directed by Hayao Miyazaki) that get overlooked: Porco Rosso and Castle in the Sky. Porco Rosso is fucking excellent! It's so funny, yet somber and tender at the same time. Also, My Neighbor Totoro is maybe Miyazaki's masterpiece. It's understated in the best possible way.

Cinmnapple

I love this movie! I’m gonna add to all the other voices asking for princess mononoke next

Metweet .c

You can tell the artists love European landscapes in this film

Jaehyn

3:43 is when stream starts

Nancy Raha

Such a nice stream, thank you guys

Cami

howl's moving castle is my comfort film <3 also, you shouldn't compare the film to its book counterpart as they're two different works in the end :) hayao miyazaki wanted to add the themes of war to protest against it as he's quite anti-war

Danger Tomato

Is it normal if I could barely hear yall sometimes?

Gary

ive never watched a ghibili film and now I get to watch it with my favorite content creator

Denickart

3 Ghibli films have a Batman voice a main character. Porco Rosso had Michael Keaton and The Boy and the Heron had and Robert Pattinson.

Luna Mé

Miyazaki's movies are known for being confusing. The narrative is rarely linear and a bunch of themes end up intertwined. I once had to analyze this movie and absolutely loved it. I won't talk about everything but some of the main themes were war, the contrast of technology and nature, beauty/acceptance of the self. Throughout the film, Miyazaki was referring to the Iraq war, denouncing the arbitrary bombing of the country. Although (in the film) the war started because the prince (the scarecrow) disappeared, his disappearance quickly became pretext for war and way too much destruction. As for beauty and acceptance of the self themes, we saw Sophie undergoing four different transformations. Whenever her self-esteem was low, she turned into an old woman and when she was being true to herself, you get the rest. At the end she accepted herself as being a young girl with an old soul/mind which is why her hair stays grey. The grey hair was also a symbol of her maturing. The deal with Howl is similar. Using his magic turns him into a monster, so his appearance is extremely important to him. His blond hair was what he thought made him beautiful/normal/non-monstruous/perfect. In the end, he accepts the black hair (his natural hair color) as he becomes okay with not being perfect and since Sophie accepts him either way.

Kalicowe

Loved this VOD wish I was there for the stream.

Jamie See

I believe they said on stream they will watch it at some point.

thezz

You guys should react to Gosick, very underrated 2010s anime

Pax the Casual

If we’re talking about watching other Ghibli movies, I must recommend my all time favorite Princess Mononoke. The theme being Old World versus the New World. Nature and myth versus industrialization. Absolutely so glad to see you guys react to a Ghibli film. For the longest time I had believed yall had already seen all them, but this is refreshing to know that ya havent! Getting to see my favorite content creators watching my long time favorite shows for the first time has been a blast and Im locked in for the next!

Mubarez Ahmad

Is every movie stream gonna be up on Patreon?

Colin Donnelly

ayeeee my first anime content ever was this movie shown to me in my english class senior year of highschool.

ERRORCODE616

If you guys liked this, I highly recommend Princess Mononoke. Amazing musical score. Animation on point as usual. And a great dub cast as well. Definitely more action scenes, which I know y'all will like.

GigaDirt

Peak content, haven't seen any studio Ghibli movies besides Ponyo which was also my first exposure to anime, so this is great. Also Ponyo is a great watch

JotaroDrake

14:56 Yeahhhh Patrick Bateman???

JotaroDrake

19:15 First ever lids is crazy 😭

xest

Super underrated

JotaroDrake

Kid kinda sounds like aang

JotaroDrake

53:41 I’m stealing while they distracted

Charlie baker

Howls dub is sick considering christian bales in it

JotaroDrake

1:07:01 lmfaoooooooooooooooooo

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

They need to watch all the studio ghibli movies🤤 starting from the oldest would be fun.

Saphthings

Never new we got exclusives : O

JotaroDrake

1:51:08 ain’t no way🤦🏽‍♂️

JotaroDrake

2:04:03 I was thinking the same shit😂😂

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

Ayooo. I saw two comments right next to each other that said "reincarnated as slime buns" and "all slimed up and ready to go"

Delinda Arts

If yall plan to do another Ghibli film on twitch, I feel like Princess Mononoke (1997) would hit HARD

danial javady

roshi your arm sleeve is looking too clean in every video bro

Void

I would of preferred the japanese version cause I don't think a deep voice suits Howl very much, but the dub is still good.

Teacupcats

Id love to see them react to ponyo, the secret world of arrietty too

PWMARSH17

Princess Mononoke please.

PWMARSH17

I posted Princess Mononoke and then saw your post. Respect for an individual of culture. Still my favorite and GOAT'ed for me. But Nausicaa as well is a gem.

emma

Princess Mononoke and ponyo please

luna_qwq

omggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

Bria A.

They referenced Spirited Away in this reaction so I would assume that they’ve already seen it

Raging

Princess Mononoke goes hard as fuck. Same with Porco Rosso. Top Tier in terms of entertainment

Marvs

Oh Boy, you guys gotta do Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro and Sprited Away ASAP!

ERRORCODE616

I really like the format of having what y'all are watching take up most of the screen, and your cam just chilling in the corner. Is there a reason you don't format it this way normally? Is the other way easier to edit for Youtube? Copyright issues?

YoNoSe11

In the book all the people with powers gaslight the mess out of Sophie. After Sophie got cursed, Howl’s FBoi self agrees to break her spell but keeps stalling for free labor.

Earphone Jack

I definitely recommend Kiki’s Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke!

Benji

Movie was good but omgosh the dub voice acting was SO bad lool it keep taking me out experience 😫😅 (mainly the voice of Sophie and Howl…everyone else was fine)

Rex Perez

You have bad taste the profile photo says it all.

Jamie See

How you going to say the dub is so bad then proceed to say most of it was fine, like pick a lane bro. The dub was pretty good especially when this is on the better side of dubs.

vanya

the boy and the heron and spirited away would be dope

Saphthings

If you're feeling down and need a pick me up movie, y'all should check out "Grave of the Fireflies"

Sofia & Chill

PRINCESS MONONOKE IS RIGHT UP YOUR ALLEY ROSHI

Kraddaku

Spirited Away next unless y’all already saw, but def check out Princess Mononoke after

Benji

relax. its an opinion not a fact. ya'll so sensitive loool

Marijayne

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind will always be my favorite Ghibli Movie. Its technically not Ghibli though because it was Hayao Miyazaki's first movie and so it predates Ghibli. Other than that, I would highly recommend Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Laptuta: Castle in the Sky, and Lupin the III: The Castle of Cagliostro. Those are my other favorite Ghibli films.

Alan
>>144204415

they literally mentioned in the beginning of the vid that the only film they saw from this studio was spirited away

The Zany Spirit
>>144204415

Most people skip through the beginning. And even then, some people just tap the skip button (arrow) instantaneously whenever a scene becomes slow or uneventful. But yes, Roshi did see Spirited Away before, I heard him say that in a completely different video before this video released.

Narutofreak94

Gonna rewatch with y’all because it’s a beautiful film.

User10101

Great movie! Very interesting. But man....the witch of the waste gotta go lol

.WAV Theory

Stop being sensitive it's just a ratio

BigD95

I would highly recommend "My Neighbor Totoro"

Sam

This was fun. Nausicaa, Laputa, Mononoke: so much good content to come if they keep this up!

Megan Campbell

Thank you for streaming this! I had a great time watching this with yall and chat! 🥰😁 I look forward to future live stream reactions! 💜

Jalen Maluchmai

Awesome! Princess Mononoke was the first anime film that really got me into the genre! Hope you guys do a react to that and also Castle in the Sky as well!

Benji

go join them then loool 😂

chainsaw_grl

Damn, when I was younger I never grasped the anti war narrative in this film.

JonJon's Kooky Quest

Me, going over to comments to recommend Princess Mononoke and seeing it already like every other comment: awwwwww yeah😎

hokeypokey

Shoutout to the mods/chatters that got audio fixed at 16:30 :D

May P

Love this movie!

Symphony

This movie always brings joy to my heart

Lani Serrano

have they watched Princess Mononoke?

Ren Brown

Yess, this is one of my favorite Ghibli films.

corLeonis

hoping they would check it out 🥹

Charlie baker

Calling christian bale a bad va is certainly a take lmao

Charlie baker

Never understood why people liked ponyo, that movie was a slog tonget through

Charlie baker

Nah the deep is perfect, having the suave voice while being such a big baby is why it works because hes charming but also a set in his ways mess

Charlie baker

Wild I could barely force myself to watch all of it

EclecticSkeptic

I wish they would do more Ghibli movies. They're missing out!

hange

still dying for them to react to grave of the fireflies

corLeonis

rewatching this and commenting here, please check out Princess Mononoke
