Grew up in north and east ldn , have lived in south. I’ve always been in ldn and I can say most ppl don’t talk as exaggerated as they do in uk hood productions. top boy, supercell and even the YouTube series drillin were overdoing it for theatrical purposes

Not fully, we say and spell it as pussio but it comes from Jamaica originally, its slightly different from how Jamaicans say it but that's its origin. Its because loads of Jamaican immigrants were coming into the UK until the 70s and were housed in lower class areas, mixing with the british working class. So modern UK slang is a fusion & evolution of older British slang and jamaican. Anyone in the last 40-ish years who grew up in the lower class areas of the UK uses or at least knows it.

@RYC literally. it's because of how it's pronounced, ppl who aren't familiar with the og term spell it how they hear it and that kept repeating until today where, at least in the UK, everyone even if they have jamaican parents spells it 'pussio'. Also partially because of how alot of words are spelled in a shorter way in messages, like how 'people' is often shortened to 'ppl'.
