Battles to protect lives, and Battles to protect honor” - Kaien to Rukia in Ep 160. Yet another episode that was foreshadowed and called back to. About half of this one being an anime original flashback did complete justice to Ukitake revealing why he was always sick and therefore on the sidelines awaiting his true purpose here now more than ever. Mimihagi is a sentient entity that was once the right hand of the Soul King in Bleach, and it governs stagnation and stillness. It has the ability to halt the progression of anything and can heal ailments by attaching itself to those who request its aid. Orihime not being able to heal the Soul King and Yhwach not being able to see Mimihagi shows that the Soul King is beyond Concepts, Space and Time. Even reversing the events couldn't fix his body and Yhwach couldn't use his Almighty against him One last thing “We’ll see each other soon” - Ukitake to Unohana, remember that line. Iykyk Bleach ain’t going nowhere as it’s here to stay.

Half of the episode was anime original scene btw guys because in the manga we didn't get no lead up to Ukitake's sacrifice and it was so short that it didn't left any meaing to this moment and ONCE again the anime fixing the issue or should I say Kubo himself who is the close supervision of the story.

Just a thing to put up out there in regards to the guy who's got his hands melted by Aizen's reiatsu. Technically, Ichigo is of the same if not more capable of doing that aswell. But if he were to raise his spiritual pressure more, noone around him would be able to stand it, and so he is supressing it alot. Alot of ppl missing this detail because it wasnt vizualized in the manga in any shape of form but by subtle hints of how ichigo takes action in any battle. The only glint i can remember from the anime is from cour 2, when he blasted the bambies away slightly with his spiritual pressure when he gone to help kenpachi.

The soul king has Acausality, basically he’s resistant Causality manipulation which is orihime’s ability if you remember orihimes healing or “rejecting” rejects phenomena making so events never happened. The soul king is immune to this, he’s also resistant to Yhwach's ability to see every possible future This is why he is unaffectes by orihime attempting to erase the events from ever happening and is invisible to Yhwach

That's not a spoiler we literally know what orihime’s ability was since the arrancar arc and yhwach has literally already explained that he can see the future therefore nothing will work on him Also like this was anime original content so I don't really the harm in explaining their abilities again to show why it didn't work. And a small detail, about the battles to protect life and to protect honor, its a throwback to when ukitake lost his leutenant kaien shiba to a dangerous hollow back when rukia became part of the squad. And if u remember, his essence/ soul or w.e. got consumed by the espada 9 back in hueco mundo, Aaroniero Arruruerie.

Definitely share in Roshi's glee with Aizen back on screen. Bleach was the first anime I ever watched, an older kid on the bus showed it to me when I was a smol child. Aizen was the first villain I ever saw, my surprise at a 'dead' captain suddenly showing back up and blocking the heroes strongest form that bodied another captain with a single finger. This guy had aura decades before we started saying aura. Mother fucker has tricks on tricks, and the baddest theme ever.

Aizen was talking through spiritual pressure with YWACH, but he was bound to the chair. Shunsui undid his mouth only and he got up from his chair and was like "Ahhhh that's nice, wanna do the rest of me?" Which Shunsui notes should be IMPOSSIBLE. Aizen is such a GOAT 😂

Shunsui trolled Aizen by "unsealing" his left eye and ankles. He could have chose to unseal anything else but decided to undo those two seals since Aizen already unsealed them himself.

I always read Aizen walking out after just his mouth being undone as him using his Shikai to create an illusion of himself to represent himself. His mouth being undone is enough to let him use his Shikai to do that. Not sure how canon that is but it makes sense to me (especially since he was able to use it to a lesser extent vs. Ywhach earlier).

I think this firmly establishes that there are apparently limits to what Yhwach can see. Everything Ichigo and ichibe were up to seems to have been visible, but the soul king's right arm wasn't.

While The Almighty can theoretically see everything It's probably cancelled out by the Soul King's power since he's technically above Yhwach and Yhwach also originated from him. God/the Soul King transcends all logic and reason.

He can't use his Shikai because they've established that when he transcended with the Hyogoku that his Zanpakuto fucked off ( i think he described it as his Zanpakuto abandoning him ). He's incapable of using his Shikai. However ( this happens in the Manga in a fight I won't spoil ) if you're good enough, you can give shape to your reiatsu and make an astro projected hologram of yourself which I assume he did the second his mouth was freed then immediately replaced the hologram with himself? Honestly that scene confused me. I mean being near Aizen warps space and time..

Aizen was talking to Yhwach in the first szn via spiritual pressure not his actual mouth. We only saw it like that so the viewer isn’t confused. The whole time he was completely sealed.

Ywach couldn;t see the right arm of the soul king because his Almighty is useless against the soul king. We saw this earlier as well when Ichibe visted Ywach to come to an agreement and Ywach tried killin him with Almighty but Ichibe countered him with the left arm of the soul king. However Ywach manged to take the Left arm and it eventually became a qunicy, the one that looks like a black hole(Pernida Parnkgjas).

My understanding of Aizen's prison is that those keys seal off his access to his body. His ability to "connect" on a fundamental level. Absolute darkness is, perhaps one of the most scary things in human existence. There's a reason people go crazy in sensory deprivation chambers. Being "untethered" to your senses is the closest one can get to "the abyss". And since Aizen's power relies heavily on influencing the senses of others - it's the perfect jail for him - in theory. Despite all of that, he could still talk to Yhwach , sense the situation above ground, and once he got free of the physical restrictions, move his body freely to talk and walk after years of absolute darkness. The more you think about it, the more you realize just how crazy it is.

I have to say, one of my favorite things about TYBW is how they've characterized Aizen. Like, he really was this insurmountable problem, that Ichigo somehow mostly dealt with (and even then, only sort of). Every time he shows up, he clearly demonstrates that he's still in control of the situation and leagues above other soul reapers.
