A couple things. This year is already done and it's still winter in Canada. They want the season to change because they aren't continuing in Winter. So by the time the season changes and the scripts are written and production starts etc. should be well into 2025. Then post production etc, if they start early 2026 it will actually line up with previous seasons. Since all seasons take over a year to produce etc.
