I honestly love the first episode, and the ONLY actual somewhat bad thing (not totally in reality, just really how it made me feel) was how they killed off the dude in the end. This episode made him a very interesting character to have alongside Gi-Hun, and they ended it at the climax of their chemistry.

I enjoyed the ending because both things said to the other were kind of true. He did work to win, but things happened for him most of the time. He chose the game versus going live/being closer to his daughter for genuine reasons, but this was after living a life where the people closest to him suffered. The Recruiter took orders to get people to join the game, but he gave them a choice to play. In some ways, he had more power than the game master because he chose people who would make the game interesting, but he was still bound by the game/organization.

I fully understand why Gihun did it because obviously he’s not trying to have his whole recon and search plan blown in the meantime, but it’s wild to carve out a tracker with the full intent of going back into the games and just getting another identical one put in you 😭 (If he’s doing all this anyway what he NEEDS to do is get an entirely separate tracker inserted somewhere and give the info to Junho / the police for when he gets recruited.)

Nah, the two guys that got captured are too real, because the guy who's married took away the hand that his boss had paper on, so he was giving himself up, but by not taking away a hand in response, the boss disqualified himself and forced his subordinate to win. Both were trying to save the other and that's really sad. Usually you expect to see a lot of rat-like behavior in these survival situations, so to see BOTH people try and give themselves up for one another is pretty messed up.

2026-10-06 14:00 I want to chime in on the logo debate. The only shows that had a Netflix logo change are Bridgerton, Squid Games, and Stranger Things. Arcane just had the regular intro. Never the logo change. They might do one for One Piece and Wednesday because those are their biggest shows as well.

So what? Does that make you better than me? Money is a construct based on perceived wealth of a planet we all inhabit. Can't take it with you and it only has worth given to it by a select group of people who weaponize it to make our lives less meaningful. He's fighting this concept, in his own way. It might be crazy, but he's putting it all on the line. He's doing it for the memory of everyone in that game who had dreams they never got to see. And I'm here for it! Sure there were people who were , objectively, trash in the last game. But in the face of death, a lot of those people showed their humanity. And I'm sure that's what keeps Gi-hun awake at night. What really has him on demon time. Because, for what?

I'm assuming that if he had tried to just empty the revolver on him that the Recruiter was confident that he could have stopped him from firing a single shot. the point of that game was to try and show the main dude that he wasn't really about it. but He proved him wrong.

It isn't necessarily "I play by the rules" more so him not wanting to stoop down to their level. Honestly the plot kinda loses me in these sections but I think expecting Gi Hun to be the endlessly intelligent and badass protagonist that we usually get in shows is not the right approach as a viewer, he really spent 2 years just blowing money and nothing else, he was desperate more than anything. In the moment where they were playing the game, the recruiter basically manipulated Gi Hun into playing the game fairly by playing into his ego, Gi Hun thinks that people are more than their problems, so when he and everyone who played the games last season are referred to as trash, he doesn't want to play into the idea that they are actually trash by cheating, even if that would have produced the same result in the end When he knows he is safe from the prejudice that the recruiter placed onto him, due to him playing by the rules he set and winning, he takes that opportunity to manipulate the recruiter and play into his ego, ensuring his physical safety.

I do think silo isn’t the best cause of some pretty lame moments (her hanging off the edge for a while ep while fighting a group of people) so maybe Better call Saul, or True detective S1/S3.

The psychological aspect of the ending was SO GOOD. The dude had to play by the rules and take himself out because they have basically been "programmed" to think that players that lose deserve the punishment, so the people wearing masks carry out the punishment (killing players) without facing any guilt, but if they ever lost faith in the rules/the game they would get hit with the guilt of the countless lives they have taken, because "following the rules" is the only way they are able to justify their evil actions and not feel guilty about the horrible stuff they have done.

I mean he did say in the car that he was willing to search for the recruiter because not only did he pay him back, but is now paying them. I didn't recognize him but him saying that Gi-Hun payed him back, I made the connection.
