so much to unpack

Comments

Guav

was rewatching x2 and stryker and logan are played by the same guy, even acts the same lmao

TJ

Would y’all ever react to a tv show called “ SILO “ ?

Yamin Aqeeli

Honestly every episode has something to unpack when you watching this show 😭

Jamaal Ellison

The fuckery continues. This episode reminded me once again that Shiv always thinks she's the smartest person in the room at all times. But doesn't have a real idea about what she wants. She really thought she was gonna walk in off the street and just be the boss without any experience. Her other siblings have had a head start for years putting in the work. She decided to go into politics and work for the opposition. Anything to get her dad's attention.

A L

I hope they do. I've read the books and knew at the time that they'd make a great tv series. I don't have Apple+, so I haven't watched it yet, but I've seen a few reactions to the first few episodes and it looks like they've done a great job of adapting it.

Skye Brooklyn

no lupa, tom was not spittin. tom was basically saying to greg “yea they’re racist so what join atn anyway”. also with tom talking about “how many skulls” it was more about it what he said earlier in the episode about everyone else being 2 feet tall to him. he has the power to “kill” people now and he likes that power not necessarily about how much money it’ll bring in he’s rich he don’t gaf about that

Skyye

Haven't read the books but i practically binged s1 this week, its great

Skye Brooklyn

yall need to stop believing tom’s bullshit. he doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about a lot of the time. he may have had a little bit of a point with syd but tom’s just got transferred to an entirely different division and gets to come in and mansplain how shit works HUH?? tom is a dumb ass. also with him and shiv he is also looking for himself ALL of the time, for him to even seek after the CEO spot knowing the kids are going after it is ridiculous and is just tom's ego. part of the reason he,s with shiv is security like he wanted to take shiv's last name bc being a roy would be better for him, he acts like being logans son in law gives him power. he's an asshole too so for me as far as shiv i don’t feel all that bad for him

Skye Brooklyn

i can’t wait till yall start to “speak roy” the way the characters talk in this show is hella specific and can be hard to understand but after a while u start to get it

haventmetyou

fun fact greg actor is 6'7 LOL

Mr. Heyn

pls react to the day of the jackal

Skye Brooklyn

roman “doesn’t know what’s happening” cuz he’s currently the sibling “out in the cold” with logan right now

Skye Brooklyn

roman said all that shit to logan about vaulter to fuck kendall. not necessarily bc he actually thought gutting vaulter would’ve a good idea he knew exactly the words to use to make logan listen he played on his paranoia. so nah i don’t see it as a roman W. also sending kendal to fuck over vaulter wasn’t a cookie but punishment for being wrong with his pitch. roman “won” with his argument so he punished him

Isaiah Cox

Y’all are doing great with the reads and the predictions with this show glad yall are enjoying it

MrGuy3000

Roshi with the great reads, can’t wait for the next couple episodes

TheDroppedFry

This show is so GOATed holy shit, yall should do double uploads of this cuz I can't get enough of this masterclass writing and plotting.

Jamaal Ellison

I don't feel bad for Lawrence at all. I think he was really bad at playing the game, he could never hide his hostility towards Kendall at all. I'm certain he had no clue he was about to get fucked by Kendall so when Ken pulled him aside to seemingly give him the heads up about what was coming he was extremely disrespectful.

Anatoly

They will be racist whether he is there or not. It is just the game.

Spencer

The way the gang is reacting to this just tells me this is gonna be S-tier. As you said, so much to unpack and it only gets better.

Spencer

The next three episodes are back to back to back bangers too.

kairohcounty

y’all better be watching nosferatu that’s all i know

Spencer

Yep! He thought himself and his glorified Buzzfeed company was more valuable than it really was. He also didn't expect Kendall to be a killer.

Bria A.

They don’t ever make it explicit (well, as explicit as rich people ever do), but the Roy family and ATN in particular are super conservative, generally bigoted factions that suck socially on top of just…as asshole rich people, lol. To add some context to the Greg-Tom situation and also the political tension that was present in S1 with Shiv endorsing and working for Gil. Him and the female client she was strategist for before him in the very first couple of episodes were Democrats and that’s why ATN kept targeting them so relentlessly. (Based on the fact that ATN lady said “you don’t share our news values” to Tom, it’s always been my assumption that Shiv, Tom, and Greg are all non-conservatives even if they have the same annoying judgmental rich people tendencies as everyone else — excluding Greg…for now at least.)

Jamaal Ellison

Kendall's kinda a dog and he's been playing in Kendall's face the whole time thinking he couldn't get bit.

GhoulEx

Kinda think all of Logans kids are kinda bullshit. None of them are ready for the CEO position. Shiv not wanting to do the work to gain the fundamentals needed for the Ceo position and just wanting her dad to hand it to her. Roman just acting on feelings over fact doing vibe checks instead of engaging with the business. Kendal having all the skills needed for the job but is too impatient and short sided to perform. And Connor no experience headass thinking he can be president. Logan lowkey gave these kids a playground and they're to fucked to actually engage with it.

sotonye ogan

Tom is that younger brother you give the third unplugged controller to, to make him thinks he's playing along lol.

John Cedar

Yeah telling the person who just bought your company that you're essentially happy that his dad almost died from a brain hemorrhage and you're really excited to take over his company now...not a great move.

Tuny kun

I think punished Kendall is my favorite. There has to be a poorly edited version of him with an MGS style eye patch out there.

Eli Alvarez

i just noticed at 47:20 Kendall has a bike driver now? wonder if its related to that traffic jam from last season?

Spencer

Yeah, they're worried about Kendall driving alone. There's also probably a little trauma from the crash.

Eli Alvarez

that ending…its like Logan uses them until they’re no longer useful

Kpop Tart

Day 45 of recommending ‘Run with the Wind’ trio reaction - underrated sports anime (running) - 1 season with 23 episodes - same animators that did Haikyu - BLACK GUY!

Moses T24

I agree with u but to me, all of their shortcomings are from how Logan raised them.

Bria A.

Shiv doesn’t necessarily not want to do the work, but I think she’s resentful that Logan is deliberately dragging out her training to make it more “believable” because she’ll be seen as less competent as a woman. I DO think she hasn’t quite grasped that political management structure / skills doesn’t directly translate to the corporate world, though.

Jamaal Ellison

I could be wrong but both Roman and Kendall seem to have been training for longer than that. I vaguely remember something about Ken doing a year in Beijing i think. Anyways, It looked to me like she really didn't want any training, maybe just the shadowing Logan but other than that. 🤷

GhoulEx

I absolutely agree with what you both have said, but as the show progresses, it'll show that these kids aren't serious ppl 😅

RiQo11

That theme park is definitely great escape in upstate NY

Bria A.

Oh, they’re very unserious. 😂 I think I got to early or mid S3?

Abcmx

Season2 is peak, the next episodes go crazy. I love episode 3, it makes you so uncomfortable, the power dynamics were portrayed so great! Wish we could get several episodes next week.

sotonye ogan

I think Rom already knows the gameplan of where his at in the family, he knows his the underdog that people don't take seriously, that's why he had a different yet right pitch to Kendall's idea but he essentially thought it was enough to win Logan over but he told Rom to fuck off at the end still

sotonye ogan

the easiest to read rn are Shivs expression of when she's being bullshit to Tom or not but Logan is hard to read tho lmao

sotonye ogan

its kinda on Shiv cuz she been not keeping it real with him by telling him half truths to keep him slightly optimistic and in check cuz she also needs him too lol. for example when she "revealed' to Tom that Logan offered her a spot and she didn't want it that was a half ass lie (she wants it) but its to keep him afloat before he crashes out in a weird way lmao

Abcmx

no literally. I had it in my mind for a couple of days after watching it. So gooood but so mental

Divinerights

45:40 I don’t think shiv was upset. I think she was feeling a buzz that she’s not being expected. She’s the real dark horse. Remember how excited she was telling Tom. also it’s been talked about the sheer difference in wealth and experience shown in the clothes. But it’s brought to the forefront with Shiv saying he has essentially a midwestern walk. Tom though isn’t poor, and he isn’t a billionaire, he’s new rich.

rickie woodson

i think you guys would enjoy roman's scenes more if you just saw him as comedic relief instead of an actual contender for the "throne". he is very much in the same bubble as conner for me so i dont get irritated or frustrated with him. he's just roman roming.

Corey

You guys need to watch Mr Robot

Drake Rage

24:47 Roman talks out of his ass all the time. Every time he has given his "input" so far, he basically vomits out a bunch of words, then confidently tries to make them connect and be vague and abstract enough for people who don't know him to draw their own conclusions making it seem like Roman knows what he is talking about, but he literally never actually knows anything ABOUT anything, lol. I don't believe in him having character growth in the future either, lol. He is just too far-gone, he doesn't have enough awareness to self-reflect and grow. He is the definition of incompetence to me, lmao. Shiv is smart, but they said how she wanted to do her own thing, so she built her own path and went off getting into politics type stuff, she has no experience running the company. She wants her Dad's approval but she has never even been in the race like Roman and Kendall who have worked (I will say "worked" for Roman, cause like Kendall has previously said, Roman prolly won't actually be qualified to flip burgers, let alone be in an executive role at a Fortune 500 company, without nepotism) in the company now for years, who have danced to Logan's every whim, trying to appease him while being treated like shit the entire time. Kendall's issue seems to be that he has no confidence in himself even though he is competent at the job (thus the constant fuck ups every time he had a chance to take over and replace Logan). He seems to have a knack for self-sabotage and bad luck.

John Cedar

Having only analog records is fucking crazy for a media conglomerate in the late 2010s though, Greg actually found something that ATN could be doing that would save them millions every year. I agree that Tom is a moron but I also hate all the leads at ATN, they are vindictive assholes who pretend they aren't a personal mouthpiece for Logan when they 100% are.

Sekraan

I haven't been feeling the second season. Which is a shame because the first was a fun ride.

Fraudkuna

Some of these moments are so satisfying to watch in retrospect, goddamn. Lol

Hagri

But he is a contender for the throne, maybe his dad doesnt take him as seriously as kendall and shiv but he still is, unlike conner, he works for the company, he wanted to take Frank's job(first episode) and is always trying to get his dad's approval(the satellite launch), him suggesting to gut vaulter was basically him trying to one up kendall since it was kendall idea to buy them(also first episode)

Salvatore

It’s subtle characterization, my guy. Everything about Roman in earlier seasons is building his character up and I’m happy they’re taking everyone seriously. Connor isn’t up for nothing either, him being cast aside is essentially, his whole theme.

AresReborn

Yo btw guys idk if you’ve watched this but in the holiday spirit you guys should check out Tokyo godfathers I should have recommended this earlier but better late than never

Jazko

I disagree on the Shiv point. Logan’s kids are all spoiled brats that’s why they don’t clearly see Logan setting them up. Logan isn’t even trying to do anything wrong. He’s just using their strengths to benefit the company and their weaknesses to keep them grounded

Carlos

Logan is a whole monster. Tywin Lannister would probably admire his game.

Delinda Arts

I fucking love Greg bro lmao

Delinda Arts

Tom is actually insane for thinkin he was gonna get that shit. Like delulu was the solulu type beat.

camille

At this point, anything Roman says is irrelevant. He's doing all of this complaining and whining about wanting to have a real chance when all he had to do was raise his hand to vote Logan out. How are you mad at your dad's choices when you're the one who single handedly kept him as CEO?

Toma

day 10 of asking for kuroko no basket reaction

del

season 2 the venom ken aka punished ken arc

del

Ken’s ice cold “go find some other chicken coop, cunt” was a callback all the way to the first episode. ken’s offer to acquire vaulter included giving Lawrence a waystar board seat. this offer went out right when Logan was having his stroke. In accepting the offer Lawrence told Ken “You just invited me into the chicken coop. And without Daddy around to protect you, I'm gonna eat you all. One by fucking one.” So that shit was personal for Kenny.

del

Shiv is so tricky to pin down because she probably has the most nuanced motivations. Logan was right when he told her working in politics was her version of running away and she’s marrying Tom in part because she feels like she’s so far above him in status that Tom can’t hurt her. That’s why she feels so comfortable shitting on Tom all dinner, until Tom snaps back and Shiv is clearly kind of rocked by it. And that’s where it gets tricky because Shiv does care about Tom to a degree. She’s the one trying to act sweet and apologize to him after dinner. So those competing impulses bump up against each other. Same with the ceo position. she wants to be in the strongest most secure role and she also wants her dad’s favor. Being the prop chief of staff to Mr pibb Bernie sanders doesn’t have the same appeal.

del

and the shot near the end with ken at the table with Logan a just visible blur in the background is insane. Ken trapped in his own head with Logan lurking behind him. Ken the little kid sitting in time out. Ken the windup walking toy waiting for his owner to wind him up and point him where to go. This show is amazing man thank you all so much for covering this shit.

Retro

Episode 13 of blue box out hope yall react Monday it cooking up

Mima

just letting yall know Link Click s3 dropped !!!!!!

Pablo

Good comparison I seen a lot of people think Logan is a bozo n don’t know what he’s doing

Mali Howard

What are you talking about. If we are talking about his kids and things that they are good at he’s good at the talking to people aspect and getting in good and the joking aspect of the business world. He talks shit and can tell bullshit from a mile away. He is a contender cause he’s cut throat like his father if pushed to it.

Mali Howard

I think honestly together they make a good ceo they each have qualities that each one of them lack. They are just forced to compete with each other and their father’s bad upbringing and trauma causes them to fall short. If they were to come together and each run the business together they would dominate but their nature won’t allow it.

melloburner

i literally said in my head "this nigga greg bout 6'6 aint he??" i didnt actually realize his actor was that tall 😭

Skye Brooklyn

yes roshi u right. shiv hates that nobody think of her as a contender for the throne, not even really tom. he asks if shes got the job but keeps pushing for it to be him. and roman thinking of tom’s dumb ass before her really fucks with her ego. and the fact that tom is trying for the job is affecting how she is with him bc he wants the job. she’s like logan in the way that if u give her advice she doesn’t like or u think or say something she doesn’t like she “subtly” ices u out and that’s what she kinda does to tom

Skye Brooklyn

that scene with shiv, logan and marcia. usually logan tells marcia his plans and she sees how secretive logan is being with shiv and she came in the room trying to see what was going on and logan just sends her back out and marcia knows logan and knows his bullshit and see it on her face. logan hasn’t told ANYBODY of value about his “decision” to make shiv CEO not even his own wife so take that how u will

Marquist Simms

Kinda frustrating how these guys take romans humor so serious do these guys know this show is a comedy too ?

Spencer

I think it's just the setting the characters are in, it's very high stakes. To me though that just makes it even funnier lmao but I can understand the reaction.

Mima

i just hope the crunchyroll subs are fixed by then cos it’s absolutely riddled with errors right now 🥹😭

Fred_D3

Loool dawg if I heard “he’s back like a pedo on parole” I’d break character to laugh like 3 times

Fred_D3

I’m not mad at valuter gettin canned at all, Lawrence never respected Kendall & there’s only so much disrespect someone can take especially if they own your company

Derek Sanders

I think it’s because Kendall was trying to play the fence with being good and being a “Roy” up until the accident this episode contrasted with the one where he went sincerely with the lady’s company and they turned him down because he’s a “Roy” After the accident with the kid it seems like Kendall literally gave into the dark side completely and Logan is Palpatine lol It’s that line “I’ll wear it” from Kendall. He doesn’t care how people see him anymore

Armaan Newaskar

the funny thing is Logan is them together. All of their individual strengths are pieces of things he has. Kendall’s business savvy, Shiv is thorough, and Roman’s good with people. Each lack what the other has, and I think that’s insight into how they were raised. Logan put them in positions which drew out certain extreme qualities of them, but never gave them a rounded perspective on how to really act in the real world, let alone a top company.

poisonivybag

Waiting for the Beastars episodes 👀

jerry

He’s great as a character and I love watching him but I understand finding him absolutely insufferable. Like i definitely wouldn’t want to hang out with a guy who’s always making racist jokes and innuendos about how hot he finds his sister in real life lol. People have different sensibilities, they understand he’s joking, that doesn’t mean they have to enjoy it.

Alex

Yup, ATN is basically Fox News, Logan Roy is Rupert Murdoch, and Shiv is a center-left neoliberal.

Alex

Lupa has to stop taking everyone speaking at face value. If someone speaks with confidence, he's all over that person and impressed, but with this show it's more important to read in between the lines.

Gyatt100

You guys should definitely react to Queens Gambit, think yall would enjoy

Briana J

@Del you hit the nail on the head with why I really like Shiv as a character too. Most of what she does makes perfect sense to me because of who she is as a person and what she wants. The business world is like a boy's club and so much of this show is about how this family blends business with personal. Connor isn't in the company and therefore he's forgotten about as a sibling too. Shiv being the girl in the family makes her face a lot of misogyny in her own family too. All of the kids thing that by being CEO they can win their dad's affection. The company truly is Logan's heart at the end of the day.

Briana J

The Shiv fired/quitting scene is so funny because it was so petty. This is kind of my least favorite episode in the show, not gonna lie.

Myles Oates

55:35 is such a cool shot bc it’s like Kendall is finally taking a seat at the table with his dad except, the chair being empty next to Kendall and Logan loosely being shown in the background showing that he’s still in the back pulling the strings is beautiful.

xProKnockz

I font feel bad for tom at all he knew how this family is🤷🏽‍♂️

Leo

Tom gave shiv the answer just like rava did for Kendall last season but she didn't listen like tom said she should have played both sides but her weakness is her arrogance. If I'm not mistaken didn't that used to be Kendall's office the fact that Logan has completely taken it over shows how the dynamic from the first episode has totally flipped.
