Moon God

MANY THANKS.

halsa

LETSSS GOOOOOOOOO

Juancina

YESSS LESSGOO THANK YOU SO MUCH

Ernie

That Natalie scene with the board on call, she killed that scene, so uncomfortable

CleoKujo

Finally!!! Waiting for Mondays suck😭

Kuro

Yeah Milchick, Cobel, and Miss Huang had to have been Severed at a young age and brought up in this Kier mess. That’s the only explanation for their level of devotion It even makes sense looking at the 2nd painting they did for Milchick with a child in head bandages. Maybe that explains the baby goats too, they’re putting chips in “kids”

Ernie

I get 18-minutes with my wife? Say less. now what should i do for remaining 16-minutes?

I VisiBomb I

the warlock with the goat head scares me.

XORA NICO

Cobel bout to pop off. Natalie giving that “No. no. No. No. No” energy from GET OUT. Somebody get a camera phone with flash. I am now convinced that Helly is now Helena with that awkward hallway almost kiss. Milchik said “Black Keir….yeah naaahhh”. Intergrated Mark bout to shake things up. They got chips in them hall passes. I bet that’s how they’re tracking them

Bad Karma

I feel like 5 months definitely did pass cuz they deadass renovated the severed floor and made that dumbass cartoon animation. Also, Dylan was unemployed for awhile in that job hunt flashback after the OTC incident. It is confusing when this timeskip happens to Mark tho, I don’t think we get any indicator with him.

Cho

Has anyone told Lupa that Ricken is not played by the same actor who did Bevers in Broad City? lmao I thought he realized it cause he stopped but then he brought it up again

Jaylen

patreon giving me notifications when you upload challange: impossible

Fred_D3

Black face Kier on black history month??!! When I find this boooooard! 😂

ShaquanVirse

Damn this show cooking 🔥🔥🔥

Cho

I wasn't expecting reintegration already but I'm so here for it. I also didn't pick up on the "reset" thing possibly pointing to Cobel being an innie. I thought she realized they were about to disappear her rather than meet her demands. I'm loving this show and you guys' reactions

GrayStark

Some of the best television I’ve scene since breaking bad

Cho

"Nigga it's February" I'M CRINE

Sandeepunni

The salt thing at the end is a way to visually represent sound i think. People noticed Ben Stiller liking a tweet about it when you could see peoples liked posts on twitter. So people speculated since then that it would be on the show in some form.

Joyce

Lupa, Bevers in Broad City is played by John Gemberling. Ricken is played by Michael Chernus

windyMelon

I reckon those goat people are homeless. Petey's map had somewhere labelled "people live here".. I could totally see Lumon asking homeless people if they want to be severed for the winter or something. So those guys probably stay there for longer periods of time, which is why they're all grubby and weird

Fred_D3

‘The you you are severed edition’. Forward by blackface Kier

John Cedar

The visitation room is yet another way to subjugate them because now they have no idea where the security room is, they can't do the OTC or be at the controls unless they find it again, assuming it's even still on this floor. Also, they IMMEDIATELY show us they were lying about no cameras or microphones in this place 😂

Austin S

I know someone got the sauce, what was on Milchiks computer?

Guns

So, wonder if it’s gonna be like: At work: (Innie Mark with outie’s memories) And At home: (Outie Mark with innie’s memories)

XORA NICO

Devon is about to be a problem for Lumon. She ain’t with the bullshit. I love the actress that plays Gretchen, everything I’ve seen her in, her voice is so calming & natural.

Jaylen

biggest mystery of this show is how ricken ended up with devon

Elle B.

“Adults of the Corn” 😭😭

Fred_D3

I predict it’ll be like yugi & atem where they can switch but communicate with each other mentally. Or outie mark with all of innie mark’s knowledge since

Ghost_Troupe

Lumen gave Milchick the "representation matters" starter kit. Ben Stiller giving me corporate America ptsd 😂

Ghost_Troupe

My guess is that he remembers everything. That will be how Irv's outie gets involved.

Ghost_Troupe

They said there were no cameras in the break room. Also, I think Milchik is genuinely trying to make it a place worth being in. Like we see in this episode, even Milchik is starting to dislike Lumon's way of pacifying them.

John Cedar

I didn't even notice on the first watch but Sheera pointed it out to me this time: Dylan's wife has to ask him twice and give him directions for PREMADE cookie dough, and he ignores her and doesn't say I love you back, which characterizes his outie quite a bit. Dude is a bit of a man child that takes his wife for granted, and with being severed, he has basically done nothing with his life since he started. I wouldn't be surprised if she falls in love with innie Dylan and wants to visit him more and more. Also idk if I should still be talking about them as two people, which is a really interesting part of this show. They really do feel like different people, and if we are what we remember and experience, then they kind of are separate. But people like Reghabi and Mark insist that they're both one person.

Ghost_Troupe

I think she left because she realized she couldn't trust them. I expect her to help Mark, or at least tell him the truth about the "data" he's sorting.

John Cedar

Helly (probably Helena) made a point of looking at a spot in their main office and saying there's no camera. Also, pretty sure Milchick said something like "just like the rest of the severed floor, the break room has no cameras or microphones". They were definitely trying to give the audience and the innies the impression that they're not being watched anymore, even though we should never believe them of course.

Ghost_Troupe

I think the goats are being herded to feed the people being kept on the lower level.

Jadon

Now that they watched it. I wonder if the board is like "Control" the game, like an entity and Lumun is like the "The oldest House" and that's how their able to build rooms and change things around so fast. Like they talk only to Nat, just like how in control the board only talks to Jessie. She did call the board "It" instead of "them/they" But then that doesn't explain Helly lol 😆

Divinerights

Cobel walked away as soon as the shot focused on the guard.

Divinerights

Also did mark live in this town, Kier, before his wife died? And did his sister always live here? And how long after his wife dying did mark get this job

John Cedar

Also it felt to me like Helena was 100% leading Harmony to be killed. It felt like that scene in Goodfellas where the Lorraine Bracco's character realizes she's about to die if she follows someone into a building and she keeps walking and drives away at the last second. Helena looked really mad that she didn't come with her.

Danielle

It has not been 5 months. Dylan is just very desperately in need of a job and couldn’t afford to be chill with the job hunt because he has 3 kids. he was going for whatever that was available and would have him starting immediately so he could cash in on healthcare benefits and the like. For mark it was 2 days. In fact I think the OTC happened on a Friday night so mark had the weekend over to think about it and then came back on Monday ready to start. Innie mark spends abt 3-4 days at work before getting the others back so it has really been less than a week for the rest of them.

Casual

Ngl i fuck with mark in this season bro standing on business, bro standing ten toes down

Landers L

I love how this show mocks corporate working life. You want to be appreciated? Have this melon party. You're a minority? Have this platitude which means absolutely nothing. I love how Milchick and Natalie had a whole "This is racist" conversation with their eyes alone.

Huemon Nottabear

I think Dylon thought of his outie as a badass, but learned he's kind of a lazy fuck up. I actually know someone that was forced into a job, and became great. Also his wife may become an ally/enemy, after seeing the improved innie version of her husband, she might want to help, but innie Dylon doesn't love his outie wife. Who would love someone like that/"I wouldn't join a club that wants me as a member"

Theo Vorster

Another complicating factor is that while innies ands outies don't share personal memories they do share basic knowledge, like how at the beginning of season 1 Mark's innie had to check to make sure Helly knew stuff like the names of the different states in the USA. If innies and outies truly shared nothing a innie wouldn't be able to do stuff like read and write and other essential skills needed for an innie to do a job.

Manny

uncle ben 😂😂😂😂😂

Jon Fejes

Can't shake the feeling that the board is all of the old Egans, as seen in the perpetuity wing, with their consciousnesses somehow intact. Natalie's severance chip allows her to communicate with them. Idk, that's the theory I'm working under right now.

Casual

Wouldn’t reintegration mess you up tho cus how can two separate personalities come together and work as one unless it works on some dragon ball fusions type of stuff

Sixaxis112

The Board doing this on Black History Month.

xProKnockz

Imagine he finds her just for his wife to be like i chose this💀😭

Casual

HOLY SHIT THE ENDING THIS SHOW IS SOOO FUCKING GOOD

User10101

Not it turning into an ep of From at around the 20:35 mark 😭 where they all come from??

John Cedar

He'll probably remember everything and have to act like his severed self to not give it away. I think in S1 Cobel was suspicious of Petey because he wasn't acting right, before he disappeared.

Abcmx

Going back to ep 1 when Helly said Am I livestock? The goats are definitely that but in which way? Are they food for the "PEOPLE" that are being sent through the exports hall like Gemma or are they cloning people with cold harbor and the first step is with the goats, MDR is Cobel personal project because she wants to clone or get a version of somebody close to her, and that's why she's so interested in Mark because his work is loading emotions or memories into an actual loved one (the others are probably working with cold harbors that aren't related to them) because as of now we only know about Mark or are they all working on Gemma only?

cornett0

Who else thinks this show might be connected to time travel? 🤔

DsWorldd •

Crazy that Mark reintegrating has been heavily foreshadowed through Season 1s opening animation, same with S2. Idk if it was mad obvious to other people but ts just hit me at the end of this ep😭

janelle

not dutty pickney😭😭😭

Dante

What i thought was interesting was how she rang the bell and they all herded over like goats, covered in dirt, didn’t really speak & surrounded Mark & Helena like animals too. The first season when they found the room the guy was feeding it milk and said “They’re not ready yet” & now with the new seasons intro there’s a big emphasis surrounded them. Since season one i feel like they basically let humans soak in all the information and fill the chip in their head with behaviours so they can put them in animals too making them more obedient with less work

malfunct

about the pouches - burt mentioned it in season 1, when he was explaining to irving why his department doesn't trust MDR. i wonder why management has planted so many gnarly rumors about MDR specifically.

User10101

WHAT AN EPPPP! LOVEEEE

HK71

yo i'm not gonna lie, i thought that the whole Dylan's wife shit was fake cuz...u know...his kid was black in season 1 so i thought it's very likely that his wife would be black too lmao

Ashley

not Courage 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that’s exactly where Cobel was 😂

CentipedeKid

Black face Kier was fucking wild I knew what they were going to do but I still had the thought "I know you're fucking lying"

CocainCowboy

There’s this thing in our brain that connects both hemispheres called the ‘corpus callosum’ & a procedure called ‘corpus callosotomy’ where the brain is literally severed down the middle what we colloquially would call a ‘split brain procedure’. Since each region of your brain focuses on certain functions of your body some funky stuff happens after your brain is split, like seeing something with only your left eye you won’t be able to verbalize what it is, & you’ll unwittingly lie, or you’ll be buttoning up your shirt & your other hand will be undoing them, there even been instances where one hand tries to kill their person. Speculation: (I’m agnostic on this but it is an interesting idea) some believe that each side of the brain holds an unique consciousness but we aren’t aware of it because we spend our entire lives together & both sides communicate seamlessly with each other from birth & it isn’t until we sever the connection that we start noticing this since the left & right side aren’t able to communicate anymore. Severance theory: what if the chip that’s implanted somehow is able to inhibit some communications between the consciousnesses until the switch is flipped & then the other takes over ? But it leaves a level of basic function so that one arms isn’t doing random shit. TLDR: The chip that’s inserted into the brain cuts some communication between the left & right hemisphere & allows for the ‘Two Minds Hypothesis’

Michael Armstead

I thought cobell was shocked by the man she saw standing next to the car with Helly, and the end of the episode is so 🔥🔥 the way they did it

janelle

52:31 the change of voice/tone between the way mark scout says “i’m not sure” (husky, depressed) and mark s says “you mean what quarter?” (perky, higher pitched) is CRAZY. adam scott is taking it

AnnaSama

The racism my Lord!! lol. This show is fantastic at “show, don’t tell”

General Grevious

If I’m working at Amazon and they give me a painting of a black Jeff Bezos as a reward I’m leaving😭

Anorak

They’re dirty because they work in the dirt

AnnaSama

The play with Dylan is soo cruel. They're putting him in a position where he'll have to betray his friends or let down his family. That's the only reason Lumon is letting him learn anything about his wife and kids.

Fuji

nahh this show is pure heat holy shit

GrandNubian

I get a "Get Out" vibe -- Helena's father wants to figure out how to live forever and is working on a way to transfer his consciousness to another body

GrandNubian

20:34 "Adults of the Corn" took me out 😂

GrandNubian

In s2ep2, the montage of Mark greeting the security guard on the way down and on the way up from the severed floor actually showed exactly how much time had elapsed by showing us exactly how many times Mark had been in the office since he last saw his old team

Frederick

This show is GREAT. Ben Stiler was on one directing this.

Just Gene

At this point I feel like The Board is an AI or something, using human to reprogram humans by manipulating them through cultism.

Sekraan

Yeah, I suspect they aren't daily employees. Maybe it's more like the schedules of oil workers or fisherman, where you are on for extended periods (weeks or months) and then off for periods.

John Cedar

Yeah the biggest personality similarities with that can be seen with Irving, he has the same artistic ability and he's developing the same defiance and fixation on the elevator in the dark hallway that his outie has. It shows that the things you know and retain outside of memory also shape your personality, like your language or skills. And then there's Helena and Helly, who could not be more different except for the fact that they both seem to have a knack for constantly trying to figure out a situation and get themselves out of a bad spot (which are goals that are in complete opposition to each other). God this show is so good lol

Delinda Arts

Nawww Natalie could easily bag me with those eyes, voice, and smile lmao

John Cedar

Natalie did call the board "it" this episode and I'vd been thinking about it ever since. Some theories think it's a preserved Kier brain or like a motherboard of the Eagans all waiting for their immortal bodies one day. An AI reproduction or digitized version of him would make sense too. The fact that the only time we've heard their voice was one person saying one word is really chilling. Idk if Helly was bluffing when she made that call with Harmony but if she really was able to get the board on, as a singular entity, at that time of night, that's supicious to me. It seems like a group of important people would not all be available for that, if they were really going to meet the board at all. I also feel like the big boardroom we saw ep 1 was a red herring to make us think that is where the board meets and it's a large group of dozens of investors.

Corey Leach

Man the subtle looks that Natalie was giving Milchick like she was tryna tell him there's some fucked up shit going on my brotha but you better follow suit or else. Also we still gotta find out what Cold Harbor is cuz Cobel had mentioned that Mark was close to completing it. Also the Lumon heads know Innie Mark spilled hella tea to his sister and bro in-law and now they ass tryna be on damage control lmao.

Anthony Lazarin

On the last Kobel scene. I think she realised that that big dude was gonna kill her. Just my 2 cents

YungZeus

Gets me heated when that line shows up in the end credits.

Zephyrs

Maybe the exports are how they sever the staff that doesnt think theyre severed. Perhaps Ms. Cohen was once sent to the export room. We may see bros wife in the future as some sort of director of another severed branch as a result of her export/disappearance...unless we learn more about this project whatever mark has to complete and its relation to his wife.

Delinda Arts

Milchik about to raise his voice again in this mf lmao

Guav

The GOAT BRIENNE OF TARTH HAS RETURNED, also seems like the ding from the elevator is what makes them switch

Guav

i see someone else has watched the new rockstars breakdown lmao

PersonaFyde

Yeah those clothes looked like a plant at first. But I don’t get why they didn’t just hire someone to play the part.

PersonaFyde

I thought this was going to happen. I just wish they had made Dylan’s outie more of a jerk so I wouldn’t have to feel so bad.

Jake Rosendahl

Yeah I was gonna say that getting an after image for over 2 mins you'd have to burn your eyes out. Also now that he is merged I'm not sure how he'll keep that from Helly

RYC

I think im the only severance fan i know that thinks the Helly we've been seeing on the severed floor this whole time has been innie helly. so interesting, everyone committed to the opposite

Thulani Mason

2:40 🤣🤣🤣 And how come Sheera barely twitched but y'all two damn near flew off the couch 💀💀

Shabammo

I feel so vindicated with my guesses in my last comment haha. I knew they'd meet again and we'd reintroduce reintegration. So excited for next ep.

Jazz Rivers

My girl Brienne came in the cut tweakin’ lol

Cho

Dylan isn’t gonna be down with the group’s plans going forward now that he knows he’s the only thing keeping his family afloat. His outie is a fuck up who can’t keep a job so Dylan’s gonna be extra motivated to make Lumon work out. These people are diabolical

Cho

Dylan’s wife knows Milchick on a first name basis. Could she work security at Lumon? Is that how she got Dylan the job?

Cho

The homeless thing makes sense! We know the Wellness sessions reference things in people’s real lives. “My outie excels at stargazing” could mean his outie lives outside so he’s always watching the stars

Cho

O&D 3D print things so the exports they’re sending have to be objects. I don’t think they could get away with having them send people. That could be why they replaced O&D workers with “a guy” who sends shipments down there now. The hatchets and watering cans are being brought down to the testing floor for subjects… but why?

Cho

The popular theory is that “Board” is short for “Motherboard” and it’s thr past Egan consciences uploaded. The one time we hear them talk, the voice is the same as the Egan recording in the Perpetuity Wing. In this episode Natalie refers to them as “It”

naumi

A very subtle detail during Helena and Cobel's scene in the carpark. When Cobel gets closer, she sees Helena's driver and the cameras focus changes from Helena to the driver as he steps forward. Cobel stares at him like she's seen a ghost and immediately turns around and gets the fuck out of there. Someone on twitter made the comparison, he looks an awful lot like Baird Eagen https://x.com/pontikonisic/status/1885181948730998939 Felicia in this ep too tells a story about Burt saying to someone "I don't care if you're Baird goddamn Eagen!-" It all fits together a little too neatly 👀

Fred

bro you finna make my heart hurt at least he will have one part of helly that fw him😭

Fred

brings into the thoughts of are the innies and outies that different. It’s literally the same exact brain, body and muscle memory but differently wired at the brain so that could affect the nervous system. It’s really interesting how scientific they can take it by leaving it vague

Fred

i think irving and his outie are starting to fuse maybe due to his old brain or his outside self did the procedure maybe or some beta version when he first saw the exports room. Cause even in season 1 irving was seeing the black paint when he was “sleeping” literally his memories already drifting into his innie

Fred

someone pointed it out already but calling the board “it” is definitely an intentional choice, and helly you not safe you’re talking mad formal helly in season 1 used to curse, punched mark in the face she was more active this helly is reactive

Fred

i finished this episode and thew my phone this fr is absolute cinema i haven’t enjoyed a new show this much since better call saul😭

HBK 713 🏄🏾‍♂️

Severance got me thinking about that time I left Htown to go play ball at Texas Tech in far away Lubbock Texas, I was looking in the GreenSheets to buy a car to get back n forth home and in the very last 2 pages it was ad for if you need money you can make $2,000 for a 2week stay to literally be a test subject 🤣😆

Fred

ONE just one scene was all it took for us to see Milchick as a sympathetic that was good writing bruh

John Cedar

No idea what you're talking about lol, I only rewatch this show and interact with theories on this patreon

Ej

Notice the end credits are white now before on the other episodes it was black!!

Cho

Re: Cobel being severed, I just saw a clip where the *creators confirmed she’s NOT severed. So yeah, they were just trying to straight up kill her

Freeofgreed

I don’t think she meant reset in a severance sense. She just meant the convo was getting heated so lets calm down. They were probably going to kill her towards the end tho

Zephyrs

I mustve missed it but I never seen them mention a 3d printer, nor witnessed deliverable packages containing hatchets and watering cans.

CleoKujo

I swear if mark dies in this series imma be pissed

Cho

Autocorrect! That should be CREATORS. Dan Erickson who is a writer said “Our intention was that she (Cobel) is not severed, and I was surprised that some people think that she is. With her we wanted to look at sort of ways that people can sever without severance.”

Psychboy

The timeline in this is so weird. They have cell phones but the cars are from the 1980s-90's. During the scene, in Dylan's home, the kids are watching DangerMouse. That's an old Nicklodeon cartoon from the 80s.

Huh

Cuz lumon probably owns the whole town and control everything

Huh

They’re doing two more seasons so im sure they wont kill him so soon

Huh

Exactly irving and mark trusting the wrong people instead of each other. if only irv told mark about the painting instead of dylan 💔

Joe Williams

The timeline isn't supposed to make sense on purpose. The creators said they want the show to feel "unmoored in time". When the story takes place is a question the show is deliberately never going to answer.

Dmitri A. Baldwin

me personally, i'm starting to think this is an alternate universe where the ussr never disbanded. i think that's why all the stuff is so old looking and the land is so bare - maybe there in some sort of american town in russia or something idk.

Psychboy

In my best Lupa voice …..”hmmmm,”. Thx for the info. I did not know that.

Jazz Rivers

It could just be aesthetics or may have something to do with the story that we haven’t been introduced to yet. Like Fallout if you’re familiar.

Justin Neason

Why is the board 'it' and not a 'they' 😭

Meximus

31:20 W Lupa for calling that out

Caleb Gaming9099

Sheera is tripping, we saw petey suffer throughout all of season 1, literally on some ptsd type stuff and she’s convinced that this reintegration is a good thing, now if this fully works exactly like how it did for petey, it would technically be killing innie mark, we’re just gonna have a weird combo of the two until he snaps if it works exactly how it did for petey. Hopefully they pull like a venom type thing where innie mark and outie mark can liek telepathically communicate and switch with each other whenever they want so we don’t actually lose innie mark but if it’s work the exact same, we’re losing innie mark, cause outie mark has way more memories so that would suck in my opinion

Devin reid

Severance but it’s Night At The Museum

Nita - Kento's Widow

So much happened in this episode and I still wanted more lmao Everyone had such interesting paths this episode, they're cooking...

BojacksReacts

I wonder how mark gonna play off helly tho. Because part of him is connected to her and that other part won’t want to dishonor his wife. Especially now that he knows she’s alive. Also, this 10000% opens the door to mark learning about hellys truth since he’s reintegrated. Curious to see which comes first

Bob Loblaw

I need Mr. Milchicks Defiant Jazz dance to be in the next DanDaDan opening

Jordan

Control (game) should do a DLC centered around Severance because every time they mention the Board, Control comes to mind lol

maui

I don't believe she meant to convey that they were going to reset her as to not alarm her but I do think they were going to just straight up kill her or imprison her. She tried to be deceptive towards her but failed, at least that was my interpretation

maui

exactly, it makes me wonder if he will end up turning and helping the innies.

maui

This seems plausible, to me it also seems that, because his outie was so persistently drawing the export hallway, it somehow started to seep into his innies mind. Despite being severed, there is still a connection be it physical or otherwise. I think that with enough repetition, over long periods of time, something such as him painting that image repeatedly, would eventually travel across the subconscious into the other's conscious mind.

Freeofgreed

I don't think they were going to reset her, as we've been given no indication that Corbel is even severed. I think they were just going to straight up kill her.

Twertle

I think the shipments with O&D are just old or outdated paintings right?

EumenestheGood

Maybe it's some kind of eldritch abomination. At this point I wouldn't put it past the show to go full cosmic horror.

jason thomas

Pretty sure the Board is the former dead C.E.Os. maybe the in form of a super computer or something. Kinda like Psycho Pass

Ashton Lane

No, they store those in the cabinets in O&D. They export the stuff they made remember? "The hatchets weren't aggressive". In that big room with all the people and Dillon stole the little green card with fighting directions.

Universe8th

I made a joke that they was gonna gift Mr Milchick a picture of N**as 😭 and seeing that shit unfolded was wild

Les Thompson

I had a theory that maybe they would have forced her to be severed without her will. Maybe that's what Helena meant “Let's Reset”

Ok3_Leek

She was giving Ashley from Vought energy 😭

Seth Aasland

This show gives me a bit of Westworld vibes

Tejiri Ubiedi

The pouch thing is a call back to Burt from season 1, he said there was a rumor about MDR having pouches.

BlueSmurf

I think it worked out with Irving telling Felicia though because she is familiar with the hallway

Corrine Thrasher

Interesting dream I had. What are the other floors of Lumon like? And how do we know the departments weren't moved to another floor.

Cho

It's been said they make things. In this episode Felicia quotes Burt telling someone not to tell him how to make a snow globe, and last season O&D were making watering cans with their machines (3D printing) and Irv asked "Is that a watering can?" Burt answered that they're for the executive wing upstairs and that last week they made hatchets. So we know O&D make items. Felicia was saying they used to send what they made to that hall. The hatchets and watering cans are just examples of what we know has been made and sent places by O&D.

Godrick

"it's february" XD
