ROSHI WHEN YOU GETTING THEM PIGTAILS, THEY LOOK LIT

jordansamuel

Seeing jon and charlie go at it again… at one point was something i’d never thought i’d see again. So yeah just me appreciating what they did up until now. I’m hoping they can finish this season strong

YoGar

As a black man I’m high key offended about that lawyer scene man

Jamie

Watched it all good reaction as always

GameGod

Glad I ain’t the only one that felt that way

Domehead

I didn’t mind it but I do agree they could’ve executed that specific client better for sure, even though I understood what they were trying to do. They probably should’ve just changed up his situation including his historical rap sheet. Definitely was apart of the og script I assume

Delinda Arts

Yeah they could kept that scene/ plot out bc I GET what they wanted to say but they handled it so poorly.

DatJuanGuy

Another Perfect scene with Punisher and Daredevil

YaBoyRoshi

Literally lol it was clear the message they were tryna deliver but the specifics were…….very questionable and hard to defend

bleach

Matt and Frank always have the best scenes

Dionysus

I don’t get why they don’t like the repeat offender scene being black I know the good side of our community and the bad side and there are legit people like him and it’s more common then you think

Flynnrir

Double episode next week, give me more Frank

Dionysus

Why is that? It’s not to far from how some people act not everyone of course but I’ve seen my fair share act just like him

YaBoyRoshi

wasnt about him being black lol it was just stupid ass logic. Was very hard to empathize

Jamie Edwards

I totally disagree.....I work in the court system and that shit is accurate as fuck how guys like that act when they have been in and out of the judicial system....they behave that same way because they been through alot and they mess up because as the dude said "I wanna have something good to eat for once"

Dionysus

Now that I can totally understand how imma be upset with you when you got 25 pages before this one

YoGar

I didn’t like them trying to make us feel sympathetic when he’s shown himself to be a complete cunt and his reasoning for stealing pissed me off so bad

weird flex a

Execute for stealing the hunny bun

Ernie

i wanted to feel bad for the guy but damn i had a hard time empathizing with his stupidity, and the music the played over it...

retrocalie

I think the show was making a good point about the system only perpetuating itself and keeping people in it. Some kudos for making the defendant a bit of an asshole and not a perfect victim but I think he’s so frustrating that it gives almost zero sympathy for him.

DocGreen

I don't think it was for us to empathize with it was more for Matt to show him the system doesn't always work and that was further expanded on with the frank scene

Domehead

That’s valid but wouldn’t it make sense to not have him break probation in the past or have a glaring history that destroys his chances at probation for this petty offense off rip

Bryan

Hector’s niece better get a whole of that amulet 😂🐯 the streets need a new white tiger

John Cedar

The actress for Angela is actually GREAT, and not just for a kid. In that opening scene, the way she was tearfully talking through the murder, her cadence, the way she pauses and gets angry towards the end, it might actually be the best performance I've seen yet in this show. Maybe Matt's reaction to Foggy's death edges it out. But wow, I need to see that girl acting in more stuff NOW, a really good drama role as a lead would be amazing.

Charcoal

Muse is a character I never thought we'd get in live action cus of how absolutely deranged he is but holy fuck am I excited.

ChiChiMcGee

With the repeat offender, I really feel like they're trying to capture that level of hopelessness. Like yeah I'm begging for pennies because my benefits aren't enough and I just want something that isn't awful. I think a lot of us can't empathize with that because we haven't been there. That being said it's his responsibility and he's lucky he got 10 days but if people keep telling you to be grateful for help when the help isn't enough but you also have to stay in poverty to get any help you would be mad as hell too

Jhanine Wright

Matt pulled an A$AP Relli. The cops couldn't find the bullet casing but he went and searched and found it 🤣

Myllyon

Sheera😭😭it was just February 😭😭

GG

They are currently working on a Marvel special for Punisher so really looking forward to that

AllanJ

The justice system itself is inherently broken. There’s a lot of subtexts to the scene. Yeah, he has 20-25 pages of offenses, but it’s for drugs which he was probably using or had in his possession, trespassing, panhandling which is literally begging for money and petty larceny which is stealing something valued at under a specific amount, in Florida it’s anything under $750 so as long as it’s within that range he’s being charged with that crime. So even though he stole a box of caramel corn worth $3, they’re willing to send him to jail for 30 days for it. Just as he repeats the act of stealing a few dollars’ worth of food, the government would rather spend 1000x the amount by having him in jail rather than provide some type of measure to help the homeless; the scene of the arrest with him having cardboard boxes by him along with his rap sheet it’s clear that he’s homeless. Yes, I understand that stealing is inherently wrong, but the sad reality of the world that we live in is that there are homeless people who commit petty crimes just so they can be in jail to have a bed to sleep in and 3 meals a day. I could break this down even further, but hopefully this paints a clearer picture of what the show was trying to show.

Jamie Edwards

I totally understand where you coming from....but that's been a trope in lawyer shows for years.....this was more authentic...but I can how others could view it

uniquepeanut

YEAHHHHHHHH SHEERA LOOOL "and I get the black dude"

Persto

Also funny how Fisk went down to a basement (Hell) and sees himself as being a saviour for the city, compared to Matt going to the roof (Heaven) and seeing himself as the Devil for the city.

Q

Leroy: last time I got 30 days…I missed my SSI appointment and they cut my benefits Sheera: well why’d you miss the appointment? Fam 😂 I thought she was asking a deeper question at first lol

Trey Milliner-Williams

the lack of empathy is honestly not surprising. It is a good point that the system is not willing to spend less to feed people but willing to spend double, triple, whatever more to lock people up. Its a good point especially considering what is currently going on in America when it comes to immigration, disability, social security, minimum wage, etc. Ignoring the point just because the dude is a jackass says more about us as people then it does about the writing or how they made a point. It is very telling that people are so easily able to throw away their empathy just because someone is annoying.

Anthony Argueta

I hope the trio reads the comments on the repeat offender bc they are very enlightening. The system is inherently broken and for some ppl, once u commit one offense it's over bc u can lose all ur benefits that kept u alive which drives people to commit more crimes to live or cope with their reality (drugs).

Myllyon

Daniel bouncing on it! Doing tricks!!

Quel Hilfiger

Lmao yea Lupa don’t ever disrespect BatMan like that 😂

John Cedar

As long as the public and government share a desire for incarceration to be punishment instead of rehabilitation, this will continue to happen. Recidivism is so much lower in countries that actually prioritize rehabilitation and helping former inmates return to normal life. But idk, this has been known for decades now and the problem is only getting worse 🤷‍♂️ it's almost like lowering crime and prison populations isn't actually the priority

Casual

Ahhhh shiiii they showed him lets gooo

Bryan

disney said “YALL WANT THE SHOW TO BE VIOLENT?” okay so let’s introduce a villain named Muse that hangs his victims on meat hooks & drains their blood just cause 😂🤝🩸

Arell

Frank

Will

You know that scene hits hard when Mat said “no kid should see that” because he had been the one who found his father dead in the ally.

Isaac Mensah

that actress is the next white tiger

Casual

Sheera 😭😭😭😭😭

Cabo Boose

A really neat detail was that the painting Fisk walked past in the dungeon was the rabbit in a snow storm painting from season 1 that got his blood on it in the final fight in season 3 - also I think i heard they're doing a theatrical release for the punisher next year similar to werewolf by night

Danielle

Ngl I think I’m gonna have to fast forward through the scene cause I don’t want to ruin my mood with their wrong opinion on the matter

Devin B

The fact that you felt the repeat offender plotline was poorly done is to probably illustrate how the justice system is poorly done. On one side you can look at it as this guy has multiple offenses and has the audacity to expect to get a lighter sentence even though he did a petty crime or you can look at it as they're really processing this dude because he stole a little bit of food that he felt compelled to steal since he lost his benefits due to him being imprisoned.

Lola

Yes, a lot of crimes are deeply related to social, financial and mental problems. A lot of them could be avoid if people received proper help so they wouldn't take the wrong path out of desperation

Cabo Boose

I also didnt really care for the repeat offender specifically because he was unlikeable and just a jerk right out of the gate so its hard to sympathize with him. And i mean 25 pages of offenses? some of that has to be on him at the very least.

Cabo Boose

the only half decent point he made was that the system willing to pay so much more to put him away than he stole. But he was just such a jerk right out of the gate that I just can't sympathize with him. I mean he constantly made fun of a blind guy for being blind. Come on.

Cabo Boose

I'm betting the same thing. And she did a hell of a job at it. I already like her the most out of all the young avengers being set up XD

Lezu

I thought the next White Tiger's name was Eva though

Danielle

Yup. It’s an extremely predatory system set by design to get as many marginalized groups into prison as much as possible and get free labor out of them.

Anthony Argueta

honestly it was very hard listening to their takes. Maybe its bc they have that privilege and don't know how it is when you have been fucked over by the system for petty crimes

Anthony Argueta

100 percent and if prisons actually rehabilitate and give petty criminals the resources they need to be integrated back into society (or criminals in general depending on the crime)

Devin B

For sure him being a total ass made me not want to sympathize with his situation. When you get broken down so much by life it breaks your character too and makes you more cynical about everything.

Raymond Navarro

The guy at the end is a villain from the comics Muse. He’s a serial killer who uses the bodies of his victims to create art, this season can be very dark if done right

Devin B

They more than likely changed the name because yeah I remember the White Tiger in Ultimate Spider-Man as Ava Ayala

Yang

But Anthony they're black? How are you going to call them privileged lmao

Josh

Day 16 of my campaign for a Mr Robot/Dark reaction.

Anthony Argueta

yepp 100 percent. Its there to keep POC and minorities down. Even something as small as stealing groceries can ruin your life

Yang

Anthony, your pfp is of the most Aryan anime character in the last decade so why are you pretending to care about the struggles POCs have to deal with? You're just another Aryan worshipper

RYC

Here goes nothing (*Marks voice* deep sigh, 'I've seen the future...it doesn't end well in these comments for me') A lot of ppl in the UK(where I am) and US committ and get arrested for poverty related crimes. Leroys rant to Matt, YES, lacked accountability 100%, AND the part about 'costing 5x as much' to imprison him = the writers (maybe) making a point to say, the systems seems more concerned w/ incarcerating ppl for theft crimes like Leroys or drug possession vs catching Hector's killers, similar related crimes and (again, MAYBE) providing more financial support to ppl like Leroy so he wouldn't feel like he has to steal to just taste non shitty tasting food in the first place. Again, you can argue the punisher convo is a much better example of Matt realising the systems flawed, encouraging DD's return. If you disagree with how to interpret Leroys rant, thats cool, just remember, I'm not a writer on this show. Give THEM the smoke, don't shoot the messenger

Cabo Boose

Agreed. I can understand it from his view. But as a show they should have toned it down. Like why do I get the blind lawyer? Fair enough. Him talking like matts def? A bit much.

Cabo Boose

I think two white tigers came after him. one was his sister. The other was his niece. So Eva might’ve been his sisters name in the comics.

Devin B

That's how much of a lost cause he was to the point he was belittling someone trying to help him, at that point I didn't care much for his situation.

YaBoyRoshi

I think a lot of you think we dont understand what the show is trying to do. Showing the flawed prison system and how people get caught in the cycle is not some mind blowing concept this show came up with, its been done several times. Its just handled absolutely terribly in this episode is the point. Very elementary execution on delivering the message when you go into the specifics of the character. We can disagree until the cows come home but that was not it 🤷🏽‍♂️ not everything is perfect and thats okay lol. I think sometimes as viewers people tend to take the writers POV as the one that makes the most sense no matter how flawed it is. As three separate people on this couch we all felt like it came off nonsensical purely because of the EXECUTION.

Cabo Boose

I think the main issue of this ep is that the show didn’t explain everything you just said. So it just didn’t work like they wanted it to in the end. But honestly I can live with it in the long run the shows been really good to me besides this one part.

pmreez

Idk how they'll continue the mantel of the White Tiger but in the comics the current iteration is Hector's niece soooo if they eventually do that, keep that actress bro, she popping off in that scene! Also fuck that Frank scene was good

Yang

Danielle, I do think It's important to call out the Aryan worshippers when I see them.

Cabo Boose

Exactly. They also could have done a slightly better job of conveying why he did those other crimes since there were so many.

Cabo Boose

Making fun of the blind guy and talking to him like he’s deaf isn’t exactly charming. They should have made him at least a little more like able. Or at the very least bearable.

Cabo Boose

I think that was the point but it kinda got overshadowed by how awful he was acting. It could’ve been done better is all.

YaBoyRoshi

Empathy went out the window because it was cartoonish and not serious. Bro wanted nutter butters just cause he wanted something sweet and had 25 pages of priors. If he was stealing food to prevent himself or his child from starving thats something completely different. Just cause u lost ur benefits it doesnt absolve you of accountability forever. Would you have empathy for a guy that robbed you on the street with priors cause he wanted oreos? Theres very serious cases of this and this was not one of them or the way to handle it in my opinion. Even in spiderman this was done better in 30 seconds lol

Fizzy

The introduction to one of daredevil most unhinged but interesting villains muse 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Jamaal Ellison

But from his point of view the system thinks so little of him they sent a blind man to defend him you care so little for me that I can have a lawyer that can see with both eyes?

Jamaal Ellison

Crazy part about it when he gets out in 10 days, he'll probably go right back In not long after stuck in a cycle.

Jamaal Ellison

The Murdock repeat offender and the Fisk storytelling it's very interesting to me because in both situations they're trying to do the right thing but the system is holding them back the scene at the docks with Fisk jumping thru all those hoops just to be able to walk to the starting line not even to begin the race itself of fixing the docks.

Bacardi Giovanetty

Im so glad that I'm not the only one that hated the repeat offender plot line that shit was so stupid lmao

Mollywopper

ok but that "where am i" was real lmao. I got a friend whos the executive assistant to the mayor of a relatively big city and especially around elections and immediately after entering office, they just be dragging that man around places and he only has the vaguest sense of whats going on until hes there .

Has Noname

Haven’t watched the reaction yet, but yes I felt the repeat offender part was weak as well. I mean I’ll be honest, how was I supposed to feel bad for that guy? I got the message, but I felt it was hard to really feel any solid sympathy for him. He was a douche unwilling to really commit to a change, so I mean 🤷🏾

Drake Rage

9:14 I am loving Kingpin having to sit there going through couple's therapy week after week and having to talk about his wife's affair, about his wife's boyfriend... Real nice way to build up a menacing, evil villain character... Gold Standard for Marvel shows, amirite Roshi? Lmao.

DocGreen

I think you miss the point as well. When a show or movie shows a person down on the luck it doesn't automatically mean writers are trying to make yo empathize with them. He was clearly being a bitch about it. The point was to was to show Matt being able empathize with a guy who was done wrong by the system to a degree like foggy was and many others were. They made it clear he was to blame for situation but even than he was still treated unfairly in his opinion.

Ayanda Mpofu

Yhhhhh i would've gotten racist on that client bro also great reunion between Frank and Matt.

Jacob Artis

Jon Bernthal is such a good actor man

Jamaal Ellison

So if little Tony Soprano has any intelligence this should be the last time he talks with Ulrich. Clearly he shouldn't associate himself with B.B anymore right? This is the second time she's fucked him over with little regard to his job.

Devin B

I kind of interpreted the situation differently because like you said the concept of the system being messed up isn't mind blowing but maybe they were trying to show the different kinds of people that are produced after dealing with the system for so long. If they wanted to drive the point of the system being bad they would've used someone who was actually remorseful of their actions and is trying to do good but the system is keeping them down, instead they showed someone committing crimes and almost feels entitled to certain things because of how bad they had it.

DocGreen

Better actor for sure was needed. He was ODing it. But the point was not to make us feel empathetic for him. The show already proved they know how to do that with Hector. And they easily could've given him a sick parent or child. They chose to make him more of jerk about to say that yes he's a jerk but he's still being fucked over. People's problem is they let emotions get in the way and fail to take neutral stance or position on a topic depending how much they like the person or not

DocGreen

At the same time that is a very real thing. Some People who do bad things aren't as remorseful as others and so feel like they owed something back for their shitty lives

Diablos Cafe

It's not about the guy, that's why they made him so unlikeable. It's about the system

Has Noname

Obviously it’s about the system lol. So you’re telling me they made the man rude and unlikable to convey how the system is rigged against him, and that alone should make me sympathetic to him? That makes no sense. The guy has 25 repeat cases and is arguing probation for stealing… again? And they were freaking sweets??!? It was a terrible way to convey their point. I don’t feel bad for people like that, I’m sorry

Danielle

Because being a dickhead doesn’t mean they deserve prison time and stripped from access to basic necessities. It’s that simple

Has Noname

He isn’t in prison for being a dick lol. He’s in prison for breaking the law and showing no clear remorse for that. Yes, prisoners should receive the bare necessities to live and hopefully try to make up for what they did and change for the better. Yes, it’s harder for them to get jobs. But going around and expecting people to just take care of you for your mistakes just isn’t it to me. Again, I’d feel sympathetic if it felt like he actually WANTED to do better. I understand people don’t just steal because they want to. But you can’t live life being an asshole and committing crimes and expect people to just feel for you. He was a repeat offender and liar

AllanJ

I personally felt like it was executed with nuance, and that's the beauty of interpretation because it can be viewed from both ends of the spectrum and that's Okay. There's a lot of added layers to it, when you take into account Matt's dialogue with Leroy, and the back and forth between Matt and Sofija.

Devin B

Granted anyone would feel kind of slighted to have a lawyer with any kind of disability but at least hear them out first before dismissing them.

LeFlaneur

It was a weird episode. A lot of good stuff, but a lot of stuff that weren’t set up well or just felt off tone wise.

CentipedeKid

Accountability aside Matt's client has a point they arrested him and are spending crazy money over caramel corn. When the cops stole too and nothing was done no one cared.

LeFlaneur

Yeah they definitely went with an unsympathetic character on purpose. It was an interesting take, appreciate it; ended up hating the guy, but hating the system more, and that was unexpected to have both those feelings at the same time. It would not have been possible with a perfect “victim”.

Has Noname

Okay I can see your perspective a bit. It does make you think of both sides for sure. In his case though, by this point in time it feels like he’s just doing it to himself. There are definitely issues with the prison and law systems, but I do think people also have to be willing to really make a change when they mess up. I feel too many people are soft on folks like this irl, until someone ends up stealing from you and then you want the system to handle them. Sorry, I’m more into this than I was expecting 😅 I don’t usually try and get into debates on here, but people should not just be catered to when things like this happen

Pol McGee

18:20 Yeah... Matt is well known for being a bigger fuckboi than pre-Pepper Tony Stark

YungZeus

“When I was a boy” damn, it’s only episode 4 lmao

YungZeus

One of my biggest criticisms is that, why do all the rooftop scene look terrible? Could they not have filmed on a real rooftop? Also, I wonder if Muse was that sketchy kid who wanted the therapist help in episode 2 or whatever. Unless that was just a bait and switch when it revealed Kingpin henchman behind him or something. Also, Disney is so wack for spoiling the episode with the thumbnail smdh.

Danielle

He would stop if they didn’t cut his benefits for something small. That’s the point. Where there’s poverty there is crime. Or do you think people shouldn’t get access to those things because they’re not working hard enough for your liking

Carlos

I didn't mind the repeat offender scene. Sure they could've gone with something more cheesy and sympathetic like he was stealing to feed a family member or whatever, but the fact that he was just a bitter person beaten down and trapped by our broken system felt more real I guess.

Fred_D3

“The Ayo pasta” 😭😭😂

Carlos

Another thing about that repeat offender scene...the lawyer Matt was rizzing up was fine as hell. Cox is too damn charming.

Has Noname

You make good points and I overall agree, but I just don’t care for this man in particular. And yes it probably is written that way intentionally. I think both are part of the issue. I obviously acknowledge the system does not help and is the bigger problem here, but I don’t think his attitude and actions towards others helps his case. Yes, crime follows poverty. But there are a lot of complex factors involved. Maybe he seems himself stuck where he is and unable to change, but there are many people that have done far worse that do change. It should be easier for offenders to find jobs where they can live and take care of themselves. But other things like the economy and wealth distribution play into that where it just isn’t that easy. Many of us irl barely make ends meet as law-abiding citizens that may/may not have grown up in similar situations. Why do people constantly try and make excuses for those that just give in and steal from others? I’ll be honest, he wasn’t my cup of tea as someone who knows these kinds of people. However y’all have convinced me that there was more to this scene than when I first watched, I’ll admit. I won’t call it “weak” anymore, but people do need SOME accountability as well

Imari

I have a feeling they are gonna kill Vanessa

Carlos

Sure, just gloss over the fact that he's clearly had this man imprisoned for an unknown amount of time and is regularly beating his ass judging by how fucked up his knuckles are every episode lol

Carlos

Repeat offender should've been Turk lol

Zeklo

Honestly making the repeat offender not likable, or perfectly defendable was a fantastic writing choice. Constantly throwing faultless victims at the viewer gets old when the reality is much more nuanced. And because people are gonna misconstrue this, no I'm not calling the dude a victim. But trying to highlight the issues with a flawed individual as opposed to someone obviously innocent is actually interesting compared to "the system is evil cause look at this purely innocent person getting screwed over."

Flynnrir

The more I see the Daniel/Fisk interactions the more uneasy I get after watching The Penguin

GojosHoho

Maybe if dude was stealing baby supplies or something but you've been arrested 35 times and wanna act shocked with no accountability. I thought maybe someone was lying about him or something but you got caught red handed😭 say thanks for your lawyer actually working for you and leave quicker with the caramel corn‼️

Frederick

14:14 I don’t even blame you Roshi I gave that same look to Sheera. What the hell? 😂

Cleven Anthony

Well I don’t agree with the crime he committed but I do agree with what he’s saying. The system really will put more resources into locking you up or tearing you down than feeding and helping you. It’s like they said if all the billionaires gave their money to any real cause it could really change things

YungZeus

They should’ve done that. Would’ve been funny seeing him again. Hope we see him in this or in punisher.

Creepy Killer

have you guys seen the punisher series yet definitely recommend it if not

HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

I'm skipping both them cream of caramel cereal thieve scenes 🤦‍♂️🤣

ShaquanVirse

Nah fuck him lol he don't get a say - he practically lives at the prison with that many arrests

Invader Rin

You're the only reactors I've seen who had issues with the whole probation scene.

Johnathon

Yeah... they wanted you to feel something for that shoplifter, but with his record and attitude it's just impossible to see him as a victim.

Jamaal Ellison

I think she's responsible for Foggy's death she's been shown to be a habitual line stepper doing Shit without Fisk's approval i believe she hired Bullseye.

DevilMayCarter

And I thought when Wolverine told Deadpool about himself was something. That might've been the greatest 2 and a half minutes in regards to Frank talking to Matt. Felt that in my chest.

ChrisM

I agree. They wanted to use the black man to try and paint the “system” as a certain way… no nigga, you keep doing dumb shit and getting arrested. Take accountability

Co

Kingpin is eating that heavy meal late at night. He's too old not to be getting heartburn after that

Gmac paddiewac

nah im with the crew on this. boi in jail is wildin for no reason. great episode again

George

I feel like the late night meals are the reason Fisk is going to gain weight. The actor said he will gain weight by the time the season ends

Samoan Thor

Waymentttttt… isn’t Kirsten the dula/midwife who goes on a date with Mark from severance?

nick

the repeat offender guy plotline felt weird to me for a few particular reasons- 1. he's a repeat offender and an adult he should KNOW by now how sentences work for crimes like this. he was acting like a bratty kid who's being sent to jail for the first time. 2. i feel like they tried wayyy too hard to make him annoying and unlikable to subvert the "just down on his luck good guy" trope to make it more realistic. this just went way past realistic to the other end of cringe writing. 3. that first conversation he had with matt was messy asl. we dont need "realistic" dialogue. we need dialogue that moves the narrative forward. him being an immature, unaccountable, lying ass loser does nothing for that subplot narrative. i feel like the simplest fix would be to make him an asshole but still make him honest. give him one major likable trait. just one. let him be immature, let him be unaccountable, but make him honest at the least. like let him at least acknowledge that he did a wrong thing but he genuinely doesn't think he should be punished with jail time. another simple and VERY effecitve fix is, just make the repeat offender one of the previously known offenders from this universe. as someone already pointed out, turk would be perfect.

red

bro that kid is such a d1 glazer it’s genuinely insane

Cleven Anthony

Okay whatever yall say, my opinion remains unchanged. Society is there to help regardless of success not this selfish ass backwater version of our society when every one is self centered

Itanna

Officer Powel looks so much like De Niro it’s crazy

nick

mayor fisk back on the bulk

kt

Sheera-'i get the black dude' was diabolical

Jay.NAS

I think ya’ll are missing the point theirs definitely no questions asked a lack of accountability but the point it was trying to drive home was the instead of a system that’s helps reform people with criminal history and keeps them in the system that will pay more money to keep you inside than give people a decent state of living that mostly likely forced them commit crimes in the first place most likely. Think about he hard is for people with very light records to get work then x 10 not an excuse but hey that’s real life regardless of his attitude 🤷🏾‍♂️

Jay.NAS

Trey Milliner-Williams

well you are changing the crime from petty theft to likely armed robbery. A better comparison would be would i have sympathy if while im grilling some homeless guy came in my back yard while I wasnt looking and took the food, in which case the answer would be yes. You are kinda proving my point that we as people if someone isnt the perfect victim ie nice, charming, funny, etc we will act like empathy should be nonexistent. The reality is as me being someone who has worked with homeless people or talked to people using government assistance a lot of these people are assholes. Which in my opinion being rude does not mean I shouldnt be empathetic of their situation. Them being rude shouldnt make anyone unwilling to listen to the message. Them being rude doesnt make what is being said any less factual. It shouldnt have to be some white girl acting said and scared for you to feel bad for them like the example you are talking about. Matt being the great person he is realizes the dude is a ass but at the end of the day still listens and even agrees with what he had to say. That in my opinion is how we as a society should be when it comes to people that may not be as fortunate as the rest. Especially for nonviolent crimes

Fred

they know what it’s tryna do it’s just implemented terribly. Take for example static shock old ahh show has rubberband man, and the shadow villain’s brother as a villain to hero who gets trapped in the cycle of having bad solutions as a choice to escape poverty or a bad situation by doing a bad thing but they chose to NOT do it. you can have this idea in a better written space this jus bad writing

YaBoyRoshi

Lol idk why we bringing race into this cause it has nothing to do with one being a white woman and one being a black man. It has everything to do with characterization

nick

i do get the point (just read the last 2 paras of my comment) but it still is a poorly written character. its not about if people like this exist, its about how to focus those character traits into a character that explores a particular position on the spectrum of the themes discussed. this character was too messy to clearly explore anything.

Jamaal Ellison

I thought Leroy was homeless and eating out of the dumpster. It sounded like got fed up with eating like an animal and wanted something good to eat.

Isaiah Cox

BRO FISK IS FUCKING ME UP OMG THE FACES THIS NIGGA WAS MAKING 😭😭

The show just trying to show yall how fucked up the system can be and how people don't care about certain people anymore. the whole episode was giving multiple reasons why matt needs DD.

Chief Doodle

I was cynical about MCU bringing their jokes to Daredevil but hearing the Latvian choir sing that song made me laugh

AllanJ

Extremely well said. In its essence the phrase “Justice is Blind” is about making the decision not based on personal characteristics or biases. The show introduced us to Leroy in such a divisive way, where instantly some viewers would be swayed by his attitude and behavior and form their own biases regarding him and not look at the depth of the actual crimes which he has committed which amounts to him being not a harmful criminal. Yes, it’s easy to say he should have some accountability, but the root of the problem is the domino effect that’s created when an unjust sentencing is given for a petty crime.

Dirty_Oldman

It wasn’t messy because it all ties into Matt’s story. He is struggling with his faith in the system. The name of the episode also speaks to the theme.

PhaedrusRumple

Fun fact: the choir scene they reshot due to the original sounding too good.

Trey Milliner-Williams

ok lets take away race. the point still stands we shouldnt be unwilling to give empathy or sympathy just because someone is rude. someone shouldnt need to be a perfect victim for empathy to be given. if the only thing that needs to be changed in this scenario is the personality of the person then its not the writing thats bad its the limits of your empathetic side imo.

Muse is here

No it is, just because humanity distorted the way things work with selfish actions doesn’t change anything; one upon a time communities, villiages and kingdoms uplifted each other, sure there was always class separation but there was also someone willing to lend a helping hand & it’s sad that ppl have gotten so brainwashed to the point that being a bastard is your auto response when compassion is what’s needed But cool, you operate on that logic and I’ll operate on mine 🙂

Ohais

Well they said "when's the next season of the punisher coming out" so that probably implies they've seen all prior seasons

I don't think you should go to prison for petty crimes, tbh. It feels like talking to someone who doesn't speak the same language as you when I see people saying that you deserve jail time for stealing snacks.

SirCapAlot

I feel like the random guy that shook the docs hand at her book signing is the guy in the mask because we ain’t see him since and he was acting mad off🤔🤔

Gabriel Souza

Theft is theft, it doesn't matter if it's a snack, a coin, or a whole bank. You don't take what's not yours, period! Be very careful with that line of thinking, otherwise you might end up in jail too.

Gabriel Souza

Even Invincible, with that episode about the couple stealing a bank, handled that criticism way better. We all get what they meant, it was just poorly done, like Roshi said.

TylerMarrkabb

I think The punisher is getting a streaming movie but idk

A.

Be careful with your own line of thinking or you may end up a kidnapper. You see how that works?

Anthony Santana

And muse is daredevil villain from the comics he’s the guy painted in all white. He first appeared in daredevil vol.5 #11.He’s basically like daredevils joker in a way
