too much peak to keep track of this season

Comments

rickie woodson

Huh??? Off to google. Never heard of this

bleach

Since it's the link click director expect next level twists

Coping McCoperson

the moment i found out the Link Click writer/director was in charge I knew this was in good hands. Should be plenty more diabolical cliff hangers coming

DTK

FINALLY

SoggySoup

Does watching this not require the “prequels”

Hasani101

Yes you guys watching this 😆

Jack in the box

This Chinese? And why the animation look like that one transformers show?

Doctor Hacks

Not mad at the Chinese it’s good but the Japanese voice actor selection for this anime is insane, like no other anime we’ve had before! Would recommend jp for this highly

WarPrince
>>170389481

Nope, the prequels are mostly gag shows and this show goes a completely different path.

King of New York
>>170389351

It's a donghua not a japanese anime so you won't find it on most charts. It's by the link click director

King of New York

Technically this is the 3rd series, there's To Be Hero and To Be Heroine which come before this. I haven't seen either so we'll just have to see if we get confused I guess lmao.

Coping McCoperson

might wanna switch to JP dub, people hate mandarin i guess, maybe this one might just be the show that breaks the china curse

Paul Vizcarra

Now this is going to be something special

YaHuurdMe

Is it languagist to hate how Manderine Chinese sounds cuz if so I’m 100% that

Yoruka

This by same person who made Link Click btw, so get ready for more craziness and peak writing

Pikolini

You guys should switch to Japanese dub. They got an insane cast

Omega Kyo
>>170389859

I only watched the originally To Be Hero and I hope this new season isn't a completely separate universe

WorldWideLove2000
>>170389882

They've already watched three seasons of Link Click and that was in Mandarin. They would have no reason to watch this in another language if it doesn't bother them.

tythe1

bro why do yall keep complaining about what they watch it in, dub or sub all i see is complaining

James Jackson

Absolute gas, y'all gonna watch the op?

Oliver

Please go Jap dub. It would much appreciated you guys :)

King of New York
>>170389398

He's actually directed a lot of things but Link Click is the most successful. Although he didn't create it, he was also the director for the Heaven's Official Blessing anime adaptation which is really good. Link Click and the To Be Hero shows were created by him as well as directed but the previous 2 To Be Hero shows aren't very highly rated so we'll have to see about this one. Either way at least the animation will be insane.

Coping McCoperson
>>170389882

i was speaking from a money perspective for them, alot of smooth brains will simply tune out because its in mandarin, Link click is a masterpiece but no one watched because of the language

Doctor Hacks

Dang and they skipped the opening (well I’m guessing they assumed it was the ending though)

Marcell1980

This season of anime has been so good! Peak after peak 🔥

Doctor Hacks
>>170390606

Nah this one is fine in Chinese but brotha no anime in history has ever had such an insane Japanese cast, I mean Literally look at the roster it’s insane how many popular voice actors they pulled this is a really needed in JP

King of New York
>>170389859

I heard that To Be Heroine seemed like it was completely stand-alone at the beginning and then halfway in they started introducing elements from To Be Hero. They may do something like that again here.

Souffien Cherradi

My theory is that the moon girl he met is also a replacement and that's why when he reach for her hand she didn't know what to do

Raymond Terry

Hell yeah, you guys are watching it!

madmax

will check this out later but jjk & demon slayer will be the real cherries on top

Danger Tomato

Yeah go Japanese dub Chinese is eh. ...

Jae Skies

I agree that we are use to Japanese but with this one it just didn’t match there lip movements for me it felt off so I think watching it in Chinese is best

Kenji

Why Chinese ?

Danger Tomato

Matter of fact react to the same episode in Japanese.

mason zeo
>>170392036

The lips match better so I much prefer whatever the og voice is. Chinese in this case.

TheShortGuy

it goes by fast but on the lift it says floor 10 so he rank 10, love the reaction.

Ninjaboy

the dub is ten times better

Dragonfire

I am pretty sure Nice is on the 10th floor so there are 9 heroes more popular/stronger than him. Hero X would be the current Number 1 Hero.

GojosHoho

Oooo this about to be some mysterious shenanigans 🙂‍↕️ crazy concept too 🤔 whatever you can convince yourself and others of is reality

Jae Skies
>>170392036

well even though anime has English dub i happen to know that the English dub lines up with the lip movements of the Japanese dub but in this shows case its better in Chinese's pulse its a Chinese anime

VibeWolf

Why are people saying switch to Japanese when this is a Chinese show. But when people ask for English dubs everyone loses their composure lol

TheShortGuy
>>170392314

they like to watch it in the original voice like LinkClick so they wont be changing. deal with it bud

VibeWolf
>>170393047

That is objectively not universally. But you're not really going to be honest so I'll let you have it.

NullCallisto
>>170392036

And they care about hearing the original audio. Just watch it yourself if it bothers you that much.

L S

yo this show is incredible, ngl i knew someday chinese animation would popp off, this is almost arcane levels of animation

Bocchi In Shadow

To Be Hero is so goated. Even back when it was just a silly comedy show. The come up really is peak.

Ara Araragi
>>170392314

So should we just not watch the show then since it's a Chinese donghua series produced by bilibili? 🙄😒

mina

so they apparently have trailers of a bunch of heroes out already and i just gotta say i am SO excited to follow this show. It came outta nowhere for me. Also i have no problem with watching in any language but I would recommend you guys check out who the JP voice actors are. It's an incredibly incredibly stacked roster

mina
>>170393047

most are probably saying it out of comfort but a bit are probably saying it because the JP voice acting cast for this show is supposed to be stacked

Just Gene

I don't know what this is, but I'm here for it. Nice walking casually off the roof to his death is peak comedy. Thought Lin was a power nullifier or something, but a faith based power system is pretty sick. I'm here for it.

Damaton

Lol its funny how people are hating on it being in chinese. But I understand some people talking about the JP cast because just briefly looking at it, it really is crazy.

Cheesecake

Since they watched all of link click in Chinese I'm pretty sure they ain't gonna switch the languages unless you guys complain to the point that they gotta make a poll

Damaton

Didn't expect this to be so good

mina
>>170393810

from this display in this ep only, its not almost. Its on par with arcane at a minimum. And with their clear ability and intention to blend different styles it's very possible they exceed it

Kingmakaii

Bro the way that nigga nice looked at him walked off the building then hit a beam on the way down will forever be stuck with me that shit was fucking hilarious bro shit was mad random 😭

J Man

04:53 Did Nice just pull a Samuel L Jackson and Rock from The Other Guys? "Aim for the bushes". This scene was missing Foo Fighters in the background

Danger Tomato
>>170392314

We are American the enemy is china. They just banned American movies over there and here we are supporting Chinese ip. What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? Be a patriot

DevilMayCarter

Why when she threw the bucket of paint, I immediately thought of getting hit with the bagel in SpiderVerse? Also, didn't think we get another attack called Deadline; somewhere Victhor is smiling.

Lash

Don’t fold keep it Chinese

J Man

Peak! Also peak that you're watching the superior Mandarin original subs version! 🙌

Dolfy

Subbed for this show. I'll add to the JP dub PLZ.

That guy joe

People talking about switching to Jp dub because of the crazy casting, little do y’all know Roshi said on stream once, that big name voices, that while it’s cool to hear, bro is not gonna be jumping out his seat like a fan girl like y’all are probably expecting him too.. He’ll probably make a poll anyways if y’all keep spamming it, but I’m just letting y’all know now don’t get your hopes up 😂

Zeraphim X

i dont mind them watching it chinese even tho the first time i watched the show it was in japanese lol

Dud3 itsj3ff
>>170394533

They’ll be alright.. it threw me off at first, but by the end of the episode I was used to it. Tbh tho and not to be disrespectful of the language, it flows kinda weird lol. Japanese seems so fluid in comparison but I imagine by the end it will sound just as natural to us.

Kpop Tart

Day 93 of recommending ‘Run with the Wind’ trio reaction

지원

Peak season!!

SirCapAlot
>>170392314

like fr aint no one forcing you to watch it here in jpn lol go watch by yaself in eng

Revurus
>>170393047

nah, as someone who has only watched anime in sub until a year ago, there's some anime with fire ass dubs

Joni

i don't mind watching this in chinese cuz it's the original version, but after seeing the comment and checking who the japanese VAs are, i think i'd like the japanese version as well lol

Dolfy

Can you guys do the OP next time? Think it was played at the end this episode

Rak

Not Roshi putting his eyebrows under the durag too lmao i can't unsee it

Jamie See

I know I'm get butchered for this but roshi you should just keep the Chinese version. I watched the first episode in jp and the cast is a good cast but people in these comments saying it's the best cast of all time are pushing it. Don't get me wrong the jp cast is good but I think the cn cast is good too.

Jalen Holmes

I just caught it while watching the reaction but if yall were wondering what floor he's on it's 10. It said it in the elevator i didnt even see it til I saw yalls reaction lmao

Arz

You’re all yapping about the JP dub but unless it’s got Kenjiro Tsuda in it I don’t think it matters.

Arz.09

is this worth a watch

MrOuijaII

Realistically, unless it's someone with an absolutely iconic stand out voice like DIO or Luffy's VA most English speakers are not going to have the ear for big Japanese names, and who is to this show is going to let them flex those voices anyway lol. I watched this in JP originally but it sounds just fine in Chinese as well, if anything I appreciate the original language even more tbh.

Jalan

Look I get it about the Japanese dub but I feel like how people be wanting to hear Japanese language for a Japanese anime should keep the same energy for a Chinese language for a Chinese anime. Same for Korean anime too

Jalan

Also please check out Blades of the Guardians. The action and the animation of the show is dope asf

Quincy Jones
>>170403832

That's right my brother/sister. Love that energy. Which is why I never go for dubs. Go for the original language. Not some other country changing the dialogue, culture, or stuff for money or sensibilities.

pmreez
>>170403832

True, too bad we can't watch Solo Leveling in korean, the japanese but saying korean names always makes me chuckle a little

Sam

Oh shit, did not expect that ending. I don't care what version you guys watch, I'll stick around for whatever. Good first ep.

CleoKujo

Yeah I’m locked in I’ve been excited to watch this show since a clip surfaced ages ago

Vextipher

Did not know about this show until this reaction and now I'm actually interested. Lot of new stuff out keeping me excited.

Zoe
>>170403832

I get what you are saying but at the same time, some people watch dubs because they have disablitities or just a hard time reading. It's okay if people want to watch dub. It's not in any way disrespectful or harmful to anyone. Also, to add they stopped changing the dialogue and censoring cultural stuff in anime and donghua year ago, no one does that anymore and if they do change dialogue it's because the original source/sub changed it as well.

Zoe

I think Nice and Moon got into an argument before hand, so that's how she knew immediately it wasn't him.

Gwyn

The beginning with Moon gives mad JOI vibes from Bladerunner.

Jalan
>>170403832

Yeah that’s my only problem with that show cause Korean characters speaking Japanese throws me off especially after watching kdramas

Has Noname

This first episode was wild 😭 I was like wtfff for most of it

Jalan
>>170403832

I get that for people who speak another language. I’m speaking for English speakers who love to say “you need to watch it in Japanese cause English dub is trash.” Like they should keep that same energy when the original language is Korean, Cantonese, or mandarin. Not everything has to be in Japanese

Guns

Watching a different language anime made me realize how much Japanese i actually understand by ear. Had to make so many double takes on the subtitles

Corrine Thrasher

I think there is a murder mystery going on. Two heroes dead in a short time? Someone is killing off the heroes.

Delinda Arts

This show 3D look kinda reminds me of Arcane but like …target brand Arcane. Still nice but not on THAT level lol

Mr. Glasses
>>170411218

I was just about to say this. The art looks good, but not the same level as Arcane. Almost tho.

Anthony

This is such a interesting show

Kiara

My 1st thought was to check the apartment bc whoever killed her could still be there, but I didn't even think of her being dead the whole time! That Moon was already a replacement, which would explain why she seemed unsure of everything. Pretty insane that all these heroes can be replaced like it's nothing. Makes me wonder though, what's stopping multiple hero copies? Can't a lookalike just cosplay a hero, make people believe they're real, and gain their Trust value the same way Lin Ling did?? Unless there can only be one at a time? Idk man lol

KiriyamaRei
>>170411218

Art style is similar, but the animation looks like it'll be better than Arcane

soyu

omg was so excited to see you guys react to this!! honestly respect yall for watching in the chinese dub, and yes the pinky finger is the chinese equivalent of the middle finger lmao

Doctor Hacks
>>170399227

Chinese cast good but trust me we are not pushing it when we say this is a top tier JP cast (best of all time is yet to be decided) but we never seen anything like this in JP anime history Completely understandable if they continue in Chinese, but js wanted to point out that the JP VA Cast is not an exaggeration

G3M1N1

I feel like Sheera's theory is the closest because in my mind after watching it makes sense that the real Moon died first, which is the "incident" that was mentioned earlier, so they replaced her with someone else but he prolly kept the body otherwise I feel like they would have just got rid of it like Nice's body. What happened next IMO is that once he hit his breaking point he went flying to clear his head where he just happen to stumble upon Lin Ling looking like he was about to jump. This is what gave him the motivation to die as he knew they would look for a replace with someone else and when Nice saw how he looked like him up close he knew that was his only shot to finally be free of his pain of having The Hero "Nice" who is ranked number 10 btw.

xProKnockz

Nice vs obodiah stain

Justin Neason

Clocked the Sawano music IMMEDIATELY, i was like why do i visualize Escanor rn

The Truth

Dang you guys are really watching this in sub. Weirdos

zILovePelmeni _

it seems you didnt see any promo for this show so heres some info: -nice isnt the only "MC", theyre going to show the top 10 heroes in 24 episodes -heroes gain power through trust by the people -mix of 3d and 2d throughout the whole show -nice is currently no10, you missed it when his manager scanned his tower card

john
>>170419628

weirdos?? excuse me sir. politely get the fuck out of here.

Ren Lichtfoot
>>170419628

Gotta disagree with you there The Truth. Watching a show in its native language is the only way you get the nuance to some scenes. Anime is generally far better in sub than dubs. Dubs also tend to completely change some lines, lines they could just as easily translate directly from their original language counterpart.

Mr_grandma05
>>170419628

Are you illiterate? I find it so weird that people complain about reading for about 18 mins for better and original voice acting.

The Truth
>>170419628

Ren not in the slightest, you talk about “nuance” congrats you don’t understand any of that because you’re not apart of that culture. English improves lines instead of saying what the subtitles say.

The Truth
>>170419628

Ketsu I get you’re trying to fit in but it’s not going to work with me little buddy.

Nah I’d win

One of a few theories of mine is that Moon killed herself because either she loved the last Nice so much that she couldn’t handle his death or she has experienced multiple Nice commit sepuku and it drove Moon to the same place they went.. It’s so sad and fucked up.

The Truth
>>170419628

Mr grandma cope some more, I’m going to watch it in my native language in the country the has the most popular film industry. Cope

Manju
>>170419628

im convinced hes rage baiting, no one with common sense would actually argue this shit seriously

GigaDirt
>>170419628

Guy really comments this on a channel that primarily watches stuff in sub. Wild

Masneomlock
>>170419628

Someone just doesn't like China I think. Watching a show in it's native language is almost always the way to go. I think maybe you also just can't read fast enough. It's fine to admit that your brain can't focus on more than one thing at a time. But, to claim that your smooth-brained experience is the optimal one is idiotic. I'm not knocking dub watchers in this sentiment. I believe that dub can be a good experience for people who simply enjoy it more. However, the strong argumentative perspective the original commenter is taking is not that of the average dub watcher. What it is is the perspective of someone who cannot both read and watch at the same time, because their brain short circuits.

Masneomlock
>>170419628

Also, anyone who doesn't find Chinese to be a beautiful sounding language just hasn't listened to Chinese enough.

DiscoDie111
>>170419628

Mr. martyr, it literally matches their lips in the original language. Case closed dummy.

T.J.Adams

From what I can gather is that trust in this world has the ability to give you superpowers and since everyone trusts that he is Nice he is actually just physically becoming Nice, powers and all. I don't think they really gave any indication that they've been continuing to make new people become the new Nice when one dies before Ling but I think that be cool if that theory is right.

Norman kay10

wooow this show is interesting i want more

Norman kay10
>>170424661

i won't rule out murder given the postion she has been found in laying on the bed , someone might have done it

steezymig

The power system works someone like the pagan gods, they get there power from the trust(belief) and worship of the masses. At least i think so

Nah I’d win
>>170424661

Very true, that’s why I mentioned it’s just one of few and since most already mentioned the killed part I thought I’d throw this one in there

L S
>>170393810

exceeding it is a stretch, but its still insane that its close to being on par, it doesnt have the polish of arcane, but some things are clearly down to choice i.e. how characters talk and move in arcane its more melodramatic here its more overcomedic. tbh at this point i think its kinda impossible to exceed arcane, more importantly how so? more animation switches doesnt automatically mean better animation, the detail can hardly be increased anymore without becoming noisy and actually hurting the overall image quality and please dont think im just glazing arcane here, but arcane definitely had the biggest influence on animation in the last decades by establishing this 2d/3d animation mix and theres a few nice shows that utilized the same principle like blue eye samurai which is also gorgeous but not quite on arcanes level (then again, budget) but matching it is definitely possible and maybe even some day it will be exceeded but this soon? definitely to early to tell and still insanely unlikely cause the bar is so high and was hit consistently for over 12 hours without one bad frame. i remember this community shutting me down for wanting more animation like arcane and calling out japanese animation for not being as innovative. this show definitely proves me right and shows that it can be done, and probably with much less budget than arcane, then again wages are way lower in china so everything is less pricey. but to make a long story short im just happy we're getting more of this quality level of animation and of couse these shows will have deviations in style kinda like with normal animes. and just like with them we have objective quality in animation and then style which results in your personal preference leaning either way, meaning that theres anime that could be considered to be animated the best but there definitely isnt only one right answer i.e. redline, ghost in the shell and your name are all in wildly different genres within anime, have incredible style and detail yet theyre all animated insanely well and it just comes down to choice which one you prefer. and its going to be the same with this style as we already have blue eye samurai, some LDR / Secret level episodes, spiderverse and tnmt animated movie, also the upcoming predator killer of killers movie all use this style and in high quality. the biggest thing affecting my personal preference is wether its a high frame rate look like in arcane or here, or more of a low frame rate look like in spiderverse or blue eye samurai

YungZeus

She tried to tear off her Persona mask and failed.

I thought this week was bland but yet another peak

>>170394910

Facts like nigga I just watched you fly down how tf you fall off the room am I being pranked this can’t be real 😭

Fred Thomas

Here's a thought what if the changes brought about by trust values aren't just limited to physical changes.....imagine having another personality overwrite yours a piece at a time......

General Grevious

Ngl I’d be kinda pissed off if Superman walked off a building next to me like that. I’m thinking you’re gonna fly away and you fall to your death😭

J Man
>>170466923

She's Chinese, her name is Moon, and those are cakes. Therefore Chinese Moon Cakes. I'm half Chinese myself (half black on the other half) and Mooncakes is a sacred part of the culture

Tenroku

Nahhhh this show is gas wtf. Love the art style transitions. Lowkey getting Big Hero 6 vibes

Brandon Rodgers

Why did keep saying nice the way fab would adlib it

YaboyQ

Nice hit lin with the Almight you're next point before walking off the edge had me dying that that's the first place my mind went after seeing he was the replacement 😂😂

Sam

I’m so happy I’m subscribed to this channel! I would’ve never tried watching this otherwise ☺️☺️ feels like I got put on to something fun!

Paden Snell

Im glad we're finally starting to get more 3d anime that actually plays to it's own strengths instead of just trying to imitate 2d anime for budget reasons.

Paden Snell
>>170393810

Idk. Arcane animation is pretty insanely detailed. Especially with the hand drawn smears, and the level of detail in facial expressions. I would not put this on the same level. It is still really good. And I'm glad we're finally getting more high quality 3d animation for mature audiences that embraces 3d instead just trying to be budget 2d animation.

Paden Snell
>>170393047

I know. Like the same reasons I watch japanese subs over english dubs for japanese show. Is the same reason I'm going to watch Chinese subs over Japanese dubs for chinese shows. Watching Japanese dub for a Chinese show makes even less sense if you don't speak Japanese. Original voices with the intended dialog and inflection. And it matches the lip animation.

Arz
>>170400299

He’s the guy that voices the Dragon God in Mushoku Tensei and Nanami in JJK. Very recognizable voice no matter where you here it.

That would be a crazy way to take yourself out. Go into the bed, then cut up your own head in some way.

Darling~

The pinky thing is so funny! When I was younger we were told not to ever do that because it was the ‘Chinese middle finger’

Darling~

This is literally miraculous ladybug for adults 😭

Ryan The Biggest Dick Zandes

Okay, I don't know anything about To Be Hero X on any level. This is my theory, I think Moon already died before Nice to his own life when Ling saw it. I am going to go a step further, I don't believe both the first Nice and Moon are truly the original Nice and Moon. I find it very weird that there was a seamless plan to change Ling into Nice so suddenly. It feels like they've done this before.

Krype

Woah this is weird but I'm intrigued

jordansamuel

This gon be some fuckery and a half, imma let the director cook

i had heard about this show but i thought it was already out when i did, nice surprise!
