It’s always a fun discussion on why people live in Gotham lmao. The way I think about it is that the DC universe is full of so many metahumans, magic users, aliens, and all sorts of crazy shit that it begs the question: is Gotham really that bad compared to the rest of the world? Would you rather bump into a gang war between Penguin and Two-Face, or have your whole fucking city torn in half by a dimensional pocket universe rift? Would you rather have Batman jump you for a robbery, or have Flash throw you in jail 2 milliseconds after littering? Would you rather have your city flooded by the Riddler, or have it nuked to ashes by Mongul (Happened to Green Lantern’s home, Coast City). Also, you could argue the same thing for a lot of places in the real world. NYC has a lot of crime and poverty, but also a lot of culture, opportunity and wealth.

It is kinda wild how his Origin story is he as a child accidentally killed Keith and ripped his life away from him in a fight. Then no more than 1-2 hours in another dimension and he accidentally killed his own variant and ripped himself away from Keith’s life in a fight. Doing the complete opposite so now I’m curious to see if their dad really would’ve been happier if Keith was alive instead of him as the original claimed in season 1? If we get to see a moment like that of course cause his dad blamed him for ending is brother in a fight that his dad started.

It's not that they don't know about the other universes. They talked about their universe's Chris Smith going to the imp dimension when he was a little kid. I'm guessing Peacemaker's dad built the doorways in every universe that his family has access to, as far as we know. Other creatures also have access to the doorways, like the rat-burning creature. What I don't think they anticipated is that another Chris Smith Peacemaker would have the exact same password as they do to access their dimensional door.
