I doubt it because it shows that he is still weak. At best he may sacrifice himself to be a hero one last time. He had a hard time using his powers when sneaking with Emma. That door should have been light work. Plus Chance passed after the previous season had already wrapped up so he would have needed to be in this season anyways since he didn't die or wasnt in the hospital then. I feel like his end was going to the same or similar if we still had chance with us which probably would still have ended with him making a sacrifice for the kids.

It's sad that there are still MAGA who think this show isn't criticizing them deeply by critiquing the intentionally or unintentionally fascist and anti-woke (anti-social awareness/empathy) communities on the right. Take a look at Firecracker's (her name is also a double entendre) comment about how, "Homelander, Jesus and her" are going to stop the starlighters. Look at the order she uses. Jesus comes second because it's a commentary on how Christianity is being weaponized by nationalists to harm certain minority groups. Or how she says superheros are the most oppressed group in America (critique on MAGA's attempt to make it seem like people are oppressed on the basis of being white in America). Some critiques are less subtle like the "Make America Super Again" posters. The list of examples goes on and on.

The thing I really liked about the episode is that it dispels and shows the fandom that powerful as she is. Theoretically powerful as she is, Marie’s powers are not unbeatable (though we knew this through Neuman). A strong or durable enough Supe can tank her powers long enough to kill her.
