So knowing your blood type is a thing over there because it has its own personality trait and whatnot, like the different zodiacs we use. Everyone has kind of moved on to the MBTI ones, but the big thing in Korea was blood type personality for a really long time.

Bria A.

Blood type is equivalent to personality (kind of replaced with MBTI but still more or less in effect) and it's just one of those basic facts in Korea lol. People who are actually dating might know that about each other, though I won't say it's like a mandatory fact or anything

Dimple Trauma

The male lead voices Jinwoo in Kpop Demon Hunters. They played the song in the movie as a reference to this drama 💀

emma

its the same song in kpop demon hunters because the voice actor for jinu is the actor for tae-moo

Solemnity

If my understanding is correct, the 27% ratings thing means 27% of households in SK are watching the show.

Eaven

Congratulations on the 1 milly on YouTube it’s been a long journey and it where i started watching you guys! Thank you!

StrawHat

the bug scene always kills me lmaooo

Bria A.

Idk if you saw the comments on the first episode but the song is in KPDH because Taemoo's actor is Jinu's voice actor lol

maseken

I believe 27% is pretty high because it's a sample of how many households are watching a show. AGB Nielsen does the tracking in Korea and has a sample pool they get data from (idk how many household they pull from now) here is an explanation cuz someone on reddit said it pretty perfectly and im bored lmao "For the ratings benchmark, free to air channels (KBS, MBC & SBS) have a higher ratings benchmark simply because they have a larger audience share than cable dramas. For a drama that is airing on free-to-air channel, the benchmark is 6%-8%. In contrast, dramas that are aired on cable (tvN, jTBC, OCN, TV Chosun, MBN and Channel A) have lower ratings benchmark simply because they have a lower audience share (thanks to the payware nature of cable TV). Again, for a drama that is airing on cable channel, the benchmark is 2%-4%. Using those benchmarks mentioned, you can now establish whether the particular drama is doing well ratings-wise. If a drama has ratings within or higher than the benchmark, it simply means the drama is doing well in the ratings. For additional reference: For the drama to have above-average ratings: Free-to-air : Ratings > ~10-15% > 20% Cable: Ratings > ~6%-8% > 10% For the drama to be considered a 'hit' ratings-wise: Free-to-air : Ratings > ~20% Cable: Ratings > ~10%"

This is the second time yall have mentioned K-pop demon hunters which is funny because the male main lead here is the male main lead on that movie .

Katsa Middluns

the reaction when he spoke english had me rolling😂

J Man

48:30 I had the reverse reaction as Sheera. Since I saw Business Proposal several years ago, i recognized it when if first heard it in KPop Demon Hunters, but it was hurting my head a bit until I remembered it was from Business Proposal. Then Jinu being Tae Moo blew my mind even more.

KEIWI

Surprisingly enough, he’s Canadian! So, his English is actually really good, but kdramas like to dub over the English sometimes. It’s annoying af!!! 😂 He was the voice actor for Jinu in Kpop Demon Hunters, another reason why they played that song from the concert.

NovaVortex

The prehistoric bird noises always sends me 🤣

B23

cold spoon, may help lessen the puffiness of the eyes

Drake Rage

45:53 That was genuinely cute. 59:43 I will be mad if he doesn't recognize her first thing next episode, seriously, lol.

Sleepy Ninja

That random black guy that Roshi was asking about is actually Jonathan a famous celebrity in South Korea and the koreans love him so much because he is funny af

Wafaa

Guys make sure you have English subtitles not the English cc. That’s why the subtitles are so weird and incorrect

Jy

thats a w concert i wouldve loves to be there

girlygirl9983

@19:57 it read "You're a mean girl" on the video above ya'll, are ya'll watching this on NETFLIX bc it's def. on there, but must've been a Korean-American doin the English Subtitles if it said "Ice cold ho" LMAO

Sipporah

The spoon trick! Ha Ri put cold spoons on her eyes to make them less puffy after crying.

Luciaron

This show is surprisingly funny, and the comedy is pretty much all good simple fun like the bug killing. Also enjoying all the animation and fun transition cuts they do

Nae

27% viewership is actually amazing. Means it's popular.

girlygirl9983

I was confused about this too long ago but these ratings come from actual Korean household tv boxes from their service provider/cable/satellite , the live or recorded viewing of the show only. Does not include when the show is added to outside streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+

J Man

In the US it's Nielsen Ratings, I think Korea actually uses Nielsen boxes too.

PetersThimble

Blood type is incredibly important in Korean culture. Many people really believe it indicates personality and health of friend groups to the extent that people dont hang out with others of certain blood types (in certain cases)

PetersThimble

Also its very common in other countries for the apartment to come furnished (IE: TV, couch, appliances, etc) bc ppl dont want to move everything and its a selling point for the apartment.

Kaydee

exactly why i love it so much, its so silly. like hari getting hit by a random ball late at night.

Jy

just realised the guy in haris team at work was mango in my name and also the gangster in extracurricular wtf

dicerr

27% viewership means 27% of korea watches it which is pretty popular, not 27% ratings lol

Heather

People dont want to move everything in America either lol

PetersThimble

But they dont leave it in the same way that they do in other countries??? In China and Korea: An apartment would come with a new modern flat screen, for free, as part of your lease; Along with other appliances. Ppl in the US dont want to move things but they have to - otherwise you lose your deposit. Where is that happening in the US was my point.

Sallie Andrea

I wonder if they realise that the actor in this show is jinu from kpop demon hunters😂😂

Sieger

Isn't Jin Young's father that judge from Extrordinary Attorney Woo that cares a lot about people's last names and origins?

Tirzah

You need to know Blood Type in case her life or your kids' lives need to be saved Roshi😭

Sleepy

The issue is they don’t rlly tell u like that , Idr if it’s even shown on birth certificates and one time took a blood test and ask if they can tell me and the nurse said “it’s ok u don’t need to know that, they can figure it out when needed” 💀
