The first time Auggie met his doppelganger he noticed he was fucked up. He probably thought our world may have been worse off than his. The nazis in real life pretty much forced all German kids to be in the Hitler youth thats probably why Chris and Keith are like that. Earth X Auggie wasn't a terrible human being he was just a guy try to do best by his kinda fucked up but realistically thats what most people do in real life right now. Vigilante is just very good person.

I was slightly disappointed we didn't spend more time in Earth X. I really feel like it'll be wrapped up by the end of this season. I wanted to see more of what that world was like. We could've spent an entire season there trying to escape. James Gunn really hyped these episodes up an that's partly why I was underwhelmed with how it ends. I'm guessing. We'll probably see the brother again. They'll probably go to the imp world Auggie mentioned that they set up in the beginning of the season. Maybe a few cool Easter eggs, but I think Earth X is pretty much wrapped up.

saw a theory somewhere that i can’t fully remember but it basically was that when chris’ dad saw his doppelgänger he actually swapped places with him because keith was alive in that dimension and the other saw it as an opportunity to “convert a new dimension” or something along those lines. Just for vigilantes sake he did have a reason. You gotta remember he thinks he's peacemakers best friend and that he knows a lot about him. That includes peacemakers dad and how he treated him, so when he saw Economos tied up and all of them next to him while Keith and Auggie were in their suits he immediately went "They're in trouble, time to kill that asshole" they're also in Nazi land so there's that too.

Ultimately, alternate Auggie was still complicit. He may not agree but he certainly didnt care enough to do anything about it. Auggie's reasoning really doesnt hold water when you hold it up to the light, especially when you compare him to Vigilante 2 who was a member of the Sons of Liberty, actively fighting the oppressors. Auggie has so much power and privilege not only as a white man in that society but as a member of the Top Trio that the people adore. Imagine if he had actually publicly opposed their bigoted ideology, how much sway might he have had over the American people to fight back but that would've required sacrificing his privilege which he was not willing to do. He turned a blind eye at best, so when people say he was a good guy, im like mmmm was he tho? Is silently disagreeing while publicly maintaining the status quo, especially when you do in fact have the privilege to fight back, enough to make you a good person? Compare his speech to Vigilante's: "i cant do anything about my world i just do the best i can" vs "everything we have is at the expense of others considered outsiders and i cant just sit back and watch that happen without trying to make a difference". Auggie 2s excuse simply doesnt pass muster when you consider that there are in fact people in that universe fighting against it and Auggie simply chooses not to engage. He is in essense still choosing the side of nazi-ism by doing nothing at all. Also, Vigilante might be an annoying goofy psychopathic murderer but at least hes on the right side of history in both universes. Love that!! Hope we get double Vigilantes again in the future, hes so damn funny. Literally my favorite character in the show

Earth X has metas too. Superman is a literal nazi in that universe named Karl Kant. He is known as Overman or Ubermansch. He is the reason the nazis won ww2 in the comics. What can any normal human do to stand up against that? Sure, he could sacrifice his life, but to what end? I don't know if their Earth X follows the comics exactly, but there is an entire nazi justice league in the comics. Normal humans really can't do anything except tremble in fear or work in the shadows. It is really a bleak place. I don't know if James Gunn will take it in that direction, but for comic context, it would make sense why Blue Dragon wouldn't openly transgress against nazi ideology.

I'm open to having my mind changed with decent arguments. I think we should all be open to changing our perspective. Being introspective and hearing out different perspectives is the only way we grow in life. I would hate to be the same stagnant person my entire life. God, what a waste that would be. It's a great viewpoint and having such an open mind in these conversations is important, its definitely a tough decision for auggie to make and i can understand it its not fully justified but it makes sense in a world, where superman and the justice league are nazis. You literally cant win. Abd with how well known he is his public resistance would likely cause his and his own families deaths. But I can understand him also being critiqued for not resisting more. At the end of the day it's a complex situation with no good answers as to what he should do. You can only do so much to raise your kids right. You have to remember that they spend a lot of time learning outside the home and it has just as much a influence if not more. One of my friends I grew up with had a brother that wound up becoming a neo Nazi even though I know they grew up in a liberal home. A big part of it was the Internet. The scary truth is kids today get more information outside of the home and if you don't talk to them it's possible to never realize the damage it caused. As much as I love watching Vigilante, I wonder how they're gonna deal with him. Back in season 1, he serves as Peacemakers narrative resistance to fixing himself and keeps trying to drag him back to their violent tendencies. In terms of dialogue he's sometimes literally the devil on his shoulder, and he gets annoyed with his replacement of an actual moral compass, Adebayo, even tho it's played for jokes. I thought they weren't gonna go as hard with Vigilante being a problem this season, but here at a pivotal moment he once again introduces extreme violence and lowk fucks everything up LMAO. Because yes, in our world you shouldn't stop fighting against injustice, but in their world it would quite literally be the equivalent of tony stark fighting against the entire Nazi Justice League and the whatever billion amounts of Nazis. My take on Vigilante (aside from the comedic stuff)? He can be nice, but still loves to kill - in "Nazi-World", there were enough genuine bad guys that he could kill, so he could be a "hero" (fight the good fight) & still indulge his killing urges - in the "normal" world, there is no Nazi regime, so he kills the next best thing to bad guys he can find (genuine criminals like drug dealers, grafitti sprayers), but in a wholely good world? I could definitely see him become a serial killer or something, just because he doesn't have any bad guys to satisfy his urges. Vigilante is a "good guy" as long as there are worse guys he can kill without getting shit, but would be a real problem if he ever runs out of "valid" targets.

Blue Dragon isn't an "enabler", he WOULD like to change things if he COULD - hell, he even offered to gather all the lost parallel-dimension people & send them home, no consequences, even though they killed one of his sons, because they were the good guys.
