I'll love you guys forever for reacting to this show ❤️💜 Also, a little heads up, EP:19 isn't in the collection

Panda

Still one of the best finales in anime.

Rai

If u guys wanna check out another music show watch carole and tuesday!!!!

Rx

Y’all should check out Toilet bound hanako the 2nd season just ended

Christine Ayomide

Carole & Tuesday in dub would be an amazing show next!

Vlad

There's still one episode! An ova

john segun doe

Wait I remember watchin the Ep 1 with y'all and planned to watch this show weekly alongside yall for the first time. Just checked when ep 1 was released (back on June 6) WOW!!! 4 months really went by LIKE THAT!!!! Well time to binge.

Asher Ealey

Facts. I think it’s probably top 3 for me

Ara Araragi

Thank you for mentioning that. Picturing them reacting to the Mermaid Sisters made me feel a lot better after watching this episode 😂

marginalia

One of the finales of all time. It was bittersweet, but they managed to have their last waltz they wanted together, even in spirit during kousei's performance. It was a nice touch to see how differently Kousei inspired Kaori and Emi (the kid that was crying beside Kaori), where Emi was inspired to produce piano sounds like Kousei and Kaori, to perform with Kousei. I also found it beautiful that the episode also answered Kousei's question throughout the season about who Kaori was playing for in her first performance (she was trying to reach Kousei).

TChang23

Thank you guys so much for watching this, it really means the world to me, I taught myself some of the songs from the soundtrack on my keyboard still play them today (not very well though) but overall I came across this show at a very low point in my life and it greatly helped me get through it so I’m glad you were able to experience something that is very near and dear to my heart thank you so much for putting up with my two year recommendation I can’t express how much it means to me

Asher Ealey

I think Tsubaki is a really underrated character in the story. Obviously Kaori is the one that really brought back Kousei’s love for music. But Tsubaki was always the one that was that constant reminder that he is so much more than music. Kaori helped him heal from his past. Tsubaki is the reason the past didn’t repeat itself

TChang23

Also episode 1 of the anime aired 11 years ago yesterday! Wild

paladar blade

If I remember correctly the song Arima played in this ep the composer who made it based it off of the 5 stages of grief, and you can hear all of them throughout the song from denial to anger to bargaining to depression and finally acceptance. Thought that was a cool touch.

halcyon

Please no... there's so many better music shows out there

Randolfo

Plastic memories nowww please!

Xemnas27

Man I used to listen to this musical masterpiece on repeat after the show ended. What a tragic story

KC

Man.... I remember it like it was yesterday watching this when it was airing. This show really stuck with me and the ending always gets my teary eyed. The Trauma response I get from hearing the first ED will never not get me in my feels.

stupeyca

Dang, it made me tear up. I didn't remember Kaori fell in love with Kousei too. Music top-notch, loved it. Had a great time watching this again.

Big Black Clock

I think Roshi needs to update the anime tier list and put this on S tier instead of A, now that it is concluded.

Hmmm

Thank you for watching this show. This is what got me into anime in the first place. I was the same age as Arima when I watched it, which made the characters all the more relatable. I was dealing with crushes at the same time as he was haha. I showed this to my mother who generally doesn’t like anime cus she thinks it’s childish. Even she cried when she got to this episode. This will always have a super special place in my heart.

Zoe

where's fragrant flower at???

NovaVortex

"She's there in spirit" That aged like milk 🤣

Cory

Yep. This broke me like it did a decade ago. I was traumatised about every music anime after watching this one for fucking YEARS lmao.

Michael Kaiser

Nah it’s suppose to b today but I’m assuming it’s coming tmw

Cory

Probably this weekend because it is on the schedule.

Smitty Werbenjägermanjensen

I'm really happy you recommended this show for so long, its literally my top 3 favorite anime's of all time, and it really helped me out when I wasn't feeling the best. Even though the show makes me really sad it's also kind of therapeutic for some reason.

Gate

childhood friend is such hard mode, the only way they can win if the other girl dies. knew she was cooked when it started snowing. iykyk

Gate

recommend Nodame Cantabile as their next music watch

CentipedeKid

I respect that she made her dream come true she wanted to play with kosei and did

Gate

kind of a shame that the only way childhood friends ever win is if the other girl dies

Travis James

now that you've finished it, I need you to rank and rate both YLIA and Horimiya (if you can't tell, Im still salty it lost to horimiya in the first round 😂)

Trey

makes my wife and I cry every time.

Asiallysia

March comes in like a lion needs be on the watchlist next. A really great story and highly underrated I feel.

Deshawn Smith

i was going to comment this. It's not underrated. Rather, it's overlooked and underappreciated. Amazing series nonetheless

Big Black Clock

I think he needs to put this in S tier as well on his anime tier list instead of A. 😂

cOre

Always love this anime 🤍

stupeyca

Maybe during the weekend or on Monday. Friday had too many shows.

sip

Having all this shit happen to you in middle school is crazy, you haven't even had your growth spurt yet

LnKleinn

There’s a new 3 minute long trailer for season 3 of Interview With The Vampire (The Vampire Lestat) that just dropped! I think y’all would really like it if y’all would react to it!

TheMilkMan

Your Lie in April is one of the first animes I've watched, cried so hard at that ending. Please watch Clannad and Clannad: After Story, in your own time of course, not really sure it would rack up views.

Anime can save you

Must be hard seeing Kousei beating off to that letter every sprint 💀 "mom, why's Dad not with us everytime it's spring?" "I don't know honey, must be working"

Andy Plays All Night

A neat small detail - in the previous episodes where they showed the flashbacks of Kousei performing as a kid, they showed kid Kaori as well in the audience (so it wasn't an entirely new flashback scene in this episode) - though without the context, she was just another kid that went to the performance.

SonOfMan

Yep stil hurts as a i remember it

Nathaniel Aleks

One of my favorite anime of all time. Criminally good.

TChang23

Thanks! I really wanted them to see it because it’s genuinely my favorite series of all time I’ve never had a show affect me the way it did and now they’ve reacted to my top 3 in this re:zero and Vinland so I couldn’t be happier honestly

Emily A

One of the most incredible stories ever made, it still hurts just as bad as I remember but it’s so so beautiful , so happy you guys loved it!!!

Emily A

OMGGGG the your lie in April to MCILAL pipeline is so real… same kind of pain and emotion and beauty . Another one they would love I hope they pick it up some day soon!

Emily A

Tsubaki saying he won’t ever be alone and that she will be like his guardian angel made me burst into tears

Emily A

Last comment I promise LOLLL- I also really really appreciate how he acknowledged all of his friends and the other people who support and have helped him get to where he is instead of only focusing on romance

zero kurino

idk why everytime i watch this someone starts cutting onions

Smitty Werbenjägermanjensen

I've rewatched the letter scene like 10 times in the past two days and someone's always cutting onions

jerry

@ 10:36 I remember having a similar reaction to Roshi. Like we 'know' what happened and they're not gonna pull a magical last second reveresal but the quick cut to them standing in a snowy cemetery still felt like a gut punch.

Rin Okumura

Your lie in April. Very straight forward tittle I must say.

Rin Okumura

After Story is a master piece but I don't think they have the patient to sit through the whole SS1 and half SS2 just to get to that part.

Moose

Now that I’ve seen it in both sub and dub multiple times each, I can come to the conclusion that this is one of the few occasions where the dub is better than the sub in my opinion. I actually think the dialogue is way better in the dub, and I think the voices match the tone a little better. Great either way though.

James Jconvard

She has Fredrick’s ataxiai I believe

TheMilkMan

I know, that's why I only recommend watching it in their own time

MoYo

Ong fuck this damn show it’s 4am I binged it all day while studying and I got a exam in 3 hours and I’m depressed because of this show I don’t feel GOOD AT ALL -hadimae

Zach

Yes, great show watch finished

Alex Ramirez

everytime i hear the last violin string in the end credit scene, i start bawling💔

QualityFreak

The more I reflect on this show, the more I realize that Kaori really was selfish. Like yes it's sad that she died, and her illness + death excuses a lot of her motives and actions... But even if she'd survived, it still wouldn't be a happy ending for everyone involved 😕 It sucks that she kept using Watari when her goal was always Kousei + Tsubaki would've been heartbroken as well bc there's no way that Kousei's choosing her if Kaori's still around. Kaori and Kousei might've had a happy ending, but the friendship between the original trio would've been strained if not fully cooked.

Alexander S

I'll give you some recommendations if you want to cry more lol

Alan

Punch a fucking hole in the wall

Ryou

After watching it over 12 times, in my opinion the ending is all about moving on. Kaori came in kousei life like the spring, she lifted him from the ground of his depression and trama, and showed him how to move on from it. it’s sad that she left but also she left a beautiful trace in his whole life, that he will never forget, and smile whenever he remembers it.
